From an island miles from Arabia

Hey so this is my first post here, so thought I'd introduce myself.

So I'm from an island (where is a secret) and we have a whole ton of spices and a variety of veges that we use in our cuisine here.

It's called an island, but you can't see one end to the other, and it could take pretty much about 9-10 hours to go from one end to another (by vehicle). - And they call this an island.

Since we're an island, we're surrounded by sea and therefore some of our cuisine includes fish. But interior of this country the land slopes away into cooler mountain country where some of the best tea is grown and exported around the world.

And being a green farmland country means crops and herds, so our cuisine also includes meats, spices, and a variety of vegetables, fruits.

Do feel free to guess where!

Is better than looking for the bloomin super moon that nobody can see because of cloud.
I’m guessing is Barry Island and I win a go on the penny push.

I've been to Mauritius I don't remember tea being grown there, sugar to go in the tea definitely. I'll go with everyone else's guess and say Sri Lanka.

Mauritius, where I come from, has wonderful tea from there. Two estates - Bois Cheri and Corson. The tea is generally used for blending.

Sugar is grown in lower altitudes.

Defo, not Mauritius.

I thought Sri Lanka as Kerala is mountainous isn't it?

JaneJudge Tue 20-Aug-24 09:39:17

or possible Bahrain

David49 Tue 20-Aug-24 09:55:13

Male in the Seychelles they do grow tea and if the roads are very bad it could take 10 hours from end to end

Otherwise one of the small islands in Indonesia.

annodomini Tue 20-Aug-24 10:01:17

If it takes so long to go from one end to another of this 'island', it rules out some of the suggestions here. How long is Sri Lanka?

268 miles

JaneJudge Tue 20-Aug-24 10:05:19

which rules out Bahrain as it is tiny
