From an island miles from Arabia

Hey so this is my first post here, so thought I'd introduce myself.

So I'm from an island (where is a secret) and we have a whole ton of spices and a variety of veges that we use in our cuisine here.

It's called an island, but you can't see one end to the other, and it could take pretty much about 9-10 hours to go from one end to another (by vehicle). - And they call this an island.

Since we're an island, we're surrounded by sea and therefore some of our cuisine includes fish. But interior of this country the land slopes away into cooler mountain country where some of the best tea is grown and exported around the world.

And being a green farmland country means crops and herds, so our cuisine also includes meats, spices, and a variety of vegetables, fruits.

Do feel free to guess where!

Depends what you mean by Arabia

In the current definition, Arabia consists of seven 'independent' nations. Saudi Arabia occupies about four-fifths of the peninsula. The rest of the land is shared by Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.), and Yemen; and there is the archipelago of Bahrain in the Persian Gulf
CBA I’m afraid

An odd first post? Harmless, but I’m not into guessing games and my geography is rubbish.

I've been to Mauritius I don't remember tea being grown there, sugar to go in the tea definitely. I'll go with everyone else's guess and say Sri Lanka.

If this person lives abroad there could be a time difference. We might not know where the new member lives until the wee hours.
