Good morning from a very windy NE, heating is on again.
GD put a photo on the family WhatsApp to let us know she had arrived in Menorca.
SIL is travelling to the UK from his Brussels home so I will probably see him at the weekend, think DD may join him next weekend.
Got my shopping done and collected my prescription but had to wait while the pharmacist made it up. Doing everything online is not faster than the older days. Still no word on when my medical supplies will be delivered.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning all from a cold windy Black country.
Shopping today but first I need to go to Aldi, DS and family are at his work conference and have asked me to look for one of the Thursday deals.
A lovely cushion grandMattie .
Mizuna good to hear the bag of money was collected and definitely a win win arrangement with your neighbour.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Good morning from a cool sunless Suffolk where I dug out my winter dressing gown after a shower last evening.

Another house here awaiting news of the GCSEs of DGD2 from Bristol. She is going into school with her friends at 10am so am hoping for a phone call soon after that. Good luck to all for results which they hope for.

Hoping those feeling less than their best have an ok day. After yesterday’s time spent with the tin of Silvio I feel I can be excused any thought of housework!

Good morning Mick and all from a dull northwest coast.
I didn’t turn up at the folk club last night, for some reason didn’t feel like singing in the sing around and just watched tv. Also wanted an early night as away soon on a short coach day trip to Garstang market and St.Anne’s, so conserved my energy. The forecast is not good sadly..

Pretty cushion grandmattie and thoughts to all🌺

Good morning all from a wild Glasgow, where we have flood alert.
We were supposed to be going out, but I'm not teally up to anyway.
I have Safeguarding admin, sprung on me late last night by the Diocese and the P,P has asked for help with the changeover paperwork for the new priest.

Bella, you must be excited about your daughter's visit.

I wish you all a pleasant day.

NannyJan53 Thu 22-Aug-24 07:50:42

Good morning from a dull and grey Black Country.

Mum and I met Aunt and cousin yesterday for lunch. So had a couple of hours chatting and catching up on our families

Then popped over to DD's for a coupe of hours with them.

DGD2 has her GCSE results today. She is going to the school with a group of friends, then they will spend the day together. Hoping its congratulations all round. I am sure I will hear at some point today. DGD2 wants to get into the college in my town for A Levels, so hoping she gets the required results, I will probably see a lot more of her too.

No real plans today, but will be waiting for that phone call!!

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning from mid essex, where it’s grey, mild and raining! Not sure if it’s just a shower or proper rain!
grandmattie you are so clever! That’s a lovely cushion!
mizuna that sounds a good arrangement with your neighbour, but take it steady with the patio clearance.
DD2 and her daughters are here this morning, so fairly chaotic at the moment. The children will go to their other nanny, while DD2 works from home here. I’ll have to be fairly quiet while she works - a good excuse not to do any vacuuming.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Nothing planned for today e cept a visit from the gardener and an electrician coming to look at a few jobs DH can no longer manage. So actually I guess I am going to be making tea.
Yesterday’s U3A art group went well, six turned up and had a go at ‘Holidays’ luckily my deckchair and bucket and spade went down well so I now have to work on ‘Harvest’ for next month.
Beautiful cushion gM
Good luck with the carpet layers cornergran

Grandmabatty Thu 22-Aug-24 07:38:36

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 16° and very windy. We had a lot of rain last night and the ground looks wet still. GrandMattie that's a lovely cushion. Bellasnana I love a thunderstorm.
Yesterday I did some necessary housework after the previous two days, then I visited my friend's partner. I hadn't seen him all summer and we blethered for nearly three hours. He's a nice man.
Today will be restful. I had a disturbed night last night and was awake for a couple of hours. I might make a fruit loaf and soda bread if I can be bothered. I have enough chicken curry from last night to do me tonight. Brook enjoy your peaceful holiday. Have a good day all.

Sar53 Thu 22-Aug-24 07:24:30

Good morning from a grey looking Essex coast, we are predicted very strong winds later.
DH and I are food shopping this morning, the fridge is bare and I have a long list.
Eldest granddaughter gets her GCSE results today, fingers crossed 🤞 for her and everyone waiting for results.
I managed 4 loads of washing yesterday so the ironing board will be out this afternoon, not a job I enjoy very much.
Here's wishing a good day for all xx

kittylester Thu 22-Aug-24 07:19:12

Good morning all from a windy North Leicestershire.

We await the Smeg engineer, again. Sainsbury's delivery at tea time.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Mizuna Thu 22-Aug-24 07:10:22

Good morning from Cornwall where rain with a definite autumnal feel is refreshing my patio plants. My neighbour and I have identical patio areas divided by the steps leading to the wood. Hers is rampant with weeds and brambles. I hate cooking, she hates gardening so we've agreed that I'll sort her patio for her and she'll leave meals on my (inside) doorstep. Win-win. I'm so excited, I love a good physical outdoor project!

Lunch - delicious veggie chilli - at the hospital restaurant yesterday because once again I was changing buses there. Asked at reception if the money bag had been claimed and it had, phew. A disconcerting bus journey home with a driver who talked to himself throughout and at one point mounted the pavement causing a dad with a pushchair to veer out of the way; the double decker was inches from the baby and the driver didn't even notice. One of my extended family is a bus driver locally so I'll have a word with her as to whether/how to report it.

Today I plan to stay in but as my energy is improving daily I doubt that will happen! Quite fancy a windswept beach walk.

Bellasnana Thu 22-Aug-24 07:09:35

Good morning from Malta where it will be 35°C later and we are expecting thunderstorms this afternoon.

What a lovely cushion grandMattie, you are so creative.

Best of luck with the carpet-fitters cornergran, all the upheaval will be forgotten when you have your nice new carpet to admire.

I’m not feeling much like doing anything today but DD1 has asked me to find her old school photos as she arrives from the US next week and has a reunion the day after she gets here. I’ve no idea where the photos are so will have to trawl through scores of albums in the hope of finding them.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

cornergran Thu 22-Aug-24 06:58:12

Morning Mick, morning All. Goodness it’s windy out there. Although dry at the moment our corner of Somerset is forecast a wet morning. Coastal flood warnings in place because of high tides and strong winds. It does feel like Autumn.

Carpet fitters are due at 8.30. Hope they are tucking into their Weetabix as there’s a heavy bed and what they may view as an unreasonable amount of furniture to move. Wish them - and us - luck everyone

With thoughts to all with worries and a hope Thursday is kind to us all

brook2704 Thu 22-Aug-24 06:55:37

Good morning ever, we’re enjoying our week on holiday in Menorca, the weather is gorgeous and it’s a quiet relaxing place to just chill out and enjoy each others company
A gorgeous colourful cushion gMattie
We’ve no plans for today, breakfast soon and then sitting watching the world go by. We’re in a quiet resort just outside Mahon, we might take a trip into Mahon later but will see 😎
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

karmalady Thu 22-Aug-24 06:53:13

Good morning from s somerset, wet and windy this morning

The change in the weather had me making two crumbles yesterday, cool weather food. Apple with strawberries and blueberries, all from my garden. One in the freezer and one in the fridge. I had to change into warmer autumnal clothing too

I am not looking for things to do today, I have a sewing project that I am very much enjoying

Have a good day

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 22-Aug-24 06:31:00

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

What a beautiful cushion.

I think today I’ll be doing mainly admin. Elder son and family are going out for the day and son’s partner will whizz back to London this evening.

Have a good day everyone. I hope the Urms are having a wonderful holiday.

grandMattie Thu 22-Aug-24 06:13:52

Good morning from Bristol where it is chilly, wet and windy.

I made myself a cushion yesterday to go on the garden chair I have cleaned for my bedroom. It will protect my aging derrière!

I heard a heavy thump from upstairs, like a falling body. I immediately texted my neighbour to see if she was ok. Yes, it was only her 12yo grandson practising standing on a football!

Indoor tai chi this morning. In the afternoon, my pc man (in Kent!) will be transferring all my data remotely from my aging pc to a new one he has purchased for me. He will kindly
deliver it here when he goes to his house in Wales in early September. Such are the wonders of modern technology.

Enjoy your Thursday. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Puss Thu 22-Aug-24 06:08:55

Good morning everyone from Belfast.
Weather does not look too good it rained almost all day yesterday from 11 AM.
I will get some ironing done today.
DH is going to get our range ready to light. Winter is really coming in fast.
Heat was on yesterday.
I have a lot of green tomatoes wondering if they will ever ripen.
Have a good day everyone.

RosesandLilac Thu 22-Aug-24 06:05:10

Good morning, stormy looking skies here in south Glos, there’s rain in the air. I’m hoping that the weather will buck up, it often does once the children go back to school 🤞🏻
I love those mellow autumn days 🌹

Greyduster Thu 22-Aug-24 05:59:05

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a barely light South Yorkshire. We are expecting wind and rain today so not sure whether walking group will be on the cards, but if not I shall go and see DD for lunch. I spent far too much time trying to set up the Patient Access app on my phone and though it says I have successfully registered, it’s not working properly so I’m hoping she can help me. Then I have a hairdressing appointment this afternoon.
Have the best day you can folks.

Ashcombe Thu 22-Aug-24 05:57:51

Good morning from a windy but, so far, dry Torbay.

I expect you’ll be pleased with the improvement in your hearing after having your ears syringed, Mick.

Yesterday I visited my neighbour and friend who is recovering from a prolapse repair. She does a lot of good for others so now it’s her turn to be cared for.

Wishing a better day to those who are suffering and happy times for those on holiday. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
