Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and dry. Helter-skelter what do you do with the lavender? I have masses of it in my garden. Mizuna well done on a good recovery!
Yesterday I got washings done but not hung out as the weather was too changeable. Dd called in with dgs2 after his Friday playgroup session. Like Bellasnana it's always lovely to see them. My stomach still wasn't right so I had an omelette for dinner.
Last night was a dreadful night's sleep. I felt sore in my skin. It's hard to explain. Today I'll strip the bed and get that washed. Hoovering and polishing and cleaning the bathroom. I'm meeting my friend for breakfast at the local garden centre as usual so that will take my mind off my aches. I'll probably get something from their for dinner. They have a lovely delicatessen. Have a good day all.

Morning all from a soggy West Oxfordshire. Rain is forecast all day.

Elder son and his family are going back to London tomorrow so there is a lot of sorting out to do! They have been here for over a week plus a few days before that. The house is full of granddaughter’s bits and pieces! The cupboards are practically bare and there will be so much washing to do! I’ll leave that until Monday as the cleaner isn’t coming because of the Bank Holiday.

Have a good day in the rain everyone !

Good morning from N Surrey. Grey and looks like rain, but no wind.
I have been given a bag of lovely apples. RosesandLilac which apple cake recipe do you use? I have several loaf tins to fill.
I have been picking lavender heads, but will have to wait now for a few dry and sunny days before I carry on. A favourite August job. Sadly there have been far fewer bees enjoying the flowers this year. It's been very noticeable.
Sunshine next week again to look forward to 25 degrees will be perfect.

Good morning everyone, it’s another gorgeous day here in Es Castell in Menorca
We’re enjoying our relaxing holiday, we went into Mahón yesterday had a look around the centre and took a little boat trip across the harbour to the Isla del Rey which was really lovely. No plans for today, just a little wander down to the bay and sit watching the boats bobbing up and down in the water
Hope the aches and pains ease a bit soon Jax, madeleine, roses and others
Hoping everyone enjoys the bank holiday weekend and if you’re out and about enjoy every minute
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a decidedly wet hillside in south Glos, ‘tis tipping down here 👏 The garden so needs it and I am perfectly happy for it to rain (I absolutely realise that isn’t so for everyone, sorry!)
The dog and I will enjoy our walk regardless.
I finished a couple of small needlework bits yesterday that had been started long ago and gave up on another that was making me cross simply because the fabric is flimsy and cheap (the kit wasn’t!)
I made apple cakes yesterday 😋, gave one to the neighbour who supplied the apples, she was delighted 😀
Today? Who knows, I will just go with the flow, my neck and shoulders are very painful so will definitely be filling hot water bottles.
I hope you have a good day 🌹

Good morning from a rather damp and dull north yorkshire. Up early and got washed up which I had left from last night as my back was not good. Havent made up my mind about today. Still lots of things to sort out and ironing etc, but feeling a bit down and not seen anyone for a while . Cant stand long or would go to the wensleydale show but might go to a little vintage market not far away today. It would both be a little treat to go to and would make me get cracking on the jobs here too. Have been having problems with both the phone and the internet too so dont know if it just my problem or generally outside. The dreaded zoom lot are digging up bits of the roads at the moment here and probably causing some of the problems. Might watch a bit of the racing this afternoon. Have a good day all

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where it’s dry and still for the moment.

Yesterday was fun with the children, we played all day except when DH took over for story time. I wish I could show the photograph I took of him sitting with a child on each chair arm and another standing between his back and the back of the armchair, all trying avoid his sore knee as he read to them.

We will have them here for a couple of days as DS is bringing them over this evening to stay. DDoutL will have a bit of a break at home.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from a wet W Kent. Looks like an indoors day for me, lots of bits to do and a new book to start. Curry tonight.
Best wishes.

Good morning from a bright Belfast weather looks promising.
DD is going to Dublin tomorrow just for the day. I said I would do dinner for her when she gets back.
Looks like I will have to pop down to shops.
Usual cleaning today.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning from a wet S Hants, I’ve slept awkwardly on my back and am frustrated, it was improving yesterday.
Your post is joyous mizuna and inspiring.
Newspaper today, I’ll give my 91 year old uncle a call too.

Good morning from a very wet Oxfordshire.

Clearing up this morning after our cards evening, the dishwasher went on last night but I decided to be slovenly and left the rest for this morning! It seemed a good idea at the time.

Nothing planned today but I have some sewing to do, 2 new jigsaws have arrived along with my Kindle unlimited books, so I have no problems keeping myself amused.

Mizuna you’ve made such a good recovery, well done. Now to frolic in your woods!!

Have a good day everyone. Stay dry.

Good morning from Malta where we have another very hot day in store. Still no rain.

Had a visit from the boys and their mum and dad yesterday afternoon. What a lovely surprise. They are a joy.

Today I really must finish emptying my large bookcase and cleaning it. I got half way yesterday before backache stopped me in my tracks.

Mizuna what a lovely post, it’s so good to hear you are feeling so much better and getting out and about pain-free.

Wishing you all a good day☀️

Good morning from a damp and drizzly Torbay.

Interestingly, grandMattie, I think there have been fewer visitors this summer than in previous years as the roads haven’t been overly busy locally but then I’m fortunate to live in a slightly quieter part of the bay than those along the route to Paignton, etc. which are busy all year round. Nevertheless, there might well be some having a final fling this weekend!

Enjoy whatever you have planned, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from Cornwall where a lovely cool breeze is wafting in, the gulls are silent and sun is promised today. There's a summer fair in a nearby town so I'll venture there and enjoy home-made cakes in the town hall and maybe seeing a spot of Cornish wrestling on The Green, though having never watched it before I'm not sure if that's my thing! 🤔😁

Yesterday my surgeon signed me off, yippee, and I tried to walk on Perranporth beach but it was so congested I couldn't find a way through the tents and windbreaks. One of the last weekends for holidaying families before school starts again. I'll leave my striding-out ambition till later in the year. 😄

As I said on another thread it's going to take a while to realise I'm out the other side of my hips and knees escapade. I feel almost numb with freedom! 💝

Good morning from s somerset, rain today and cooler

I can see an indoor day today and am well rested so will make a start on sorting a cupboard in my sewing room. I need to take the bull by the horns for this and need to be methodical, with concentration. I have hundreds of patterns, some are ancient and they will be culled

Have a good day

Good morning from a dawning bristol. We too are forecast rain all day. Just as well that I washed my towels yesterday and dried them in the wind.
I didn’t do much yesterday; altered (shortened) school skirts for DGDs and took delivery of a parcel of blazers too.
This morning, as well as serving coffee in church, I’m cleaning my allocated part of the church. It’s not hard, but the bending over to brush every seat I’d hard on my back. It’s ok for the short people (mostly ladies, of course).
The rat of the day is empty, so shall finish the skirt hems.
I hope you all have a good bank holiday weekend. Ash, I hope your roads aren’t too packed with visitors.

Good Morning Everyone,
Its still dark but its raining as per the forecast locally this morning in brackley .
Once daylight happens I will decide whether to catch the bus to Bicester for a short while.
Plan to watch cycling from Spain on TV , on which is being held in high temperatures in that SE part of the country .
Then get a Chinese take Away later .
Take Care,
Mick
