Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire. It must be chilly as the heating has come on.

We had a great time at the BBQ to celebrate our neighbour's 60th birthday. We dodged the occasional shower under the garden umbrellas and enjoyed catching up with our other neighbours.

Today we plan to just go for a gentle walk round the park and then read the papers.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire,

I’m making a roast chicken lunch today with Yorkshire puddings instead of bread sauce. Rhubarb (and strawberry?) crumble for pudding.

Elder son’s partner should appear in time for lunch and afterwards they’ll set off back to London. It’s been lovely having them to stay but it will be good to have the house back again!

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning, it’s drizzling here in south Glos, markedly cooler mornings setting in.
Yesterday I enjoyed a wet dog walk, it’s dh’s turn on Sundays- he heads for the village where there’s a coffee waggon on Sunday then goes down into the valley beyond. I find it impossible to do the steep returns, I just can’t ☹️
I spent a couple of hours sewing in ends on my crochet blanket, I should do them as I go along, but I quite enjoy tackling them en masse while listening to podcasts. It needs more rows so that’s for today.
Apparently the man building the summerhouse ‘might’ come tomorrow - it’s so exasperating because there’s only the interior to tidy and the rook felt to be done. 6 weeks ago he said it was three days work, I haven’t seen him at all this month. I know I’m impatient but I’m tired of the contents of the disastrous first one filling up the dining room.
Sorry, grump over.

I hope you all have a lovely day 🌹

Good morning from a much brighter Black Country with bright blue skies! For now.

Weird weather yesterday, one minute sunny, next a deluge of rain! Manage to sit outside for our evening meal though.

No real plans today, although there is a festival of glass today near the canal, so may have a wander down there. See if my friend is free and would like to join us.

Wishing you all the best day possible

Good morning all it’s quite a dull morning here on the east coast of Fife with rain forecast for the rest of the day. No church this morning, my friends car is in the garage getting repaired.

Yesterday I watched a film called the great Caruso it was very emotive with excellent singing. I loved it.

I’ve been listing all the items I’ll be needing for my forthcoming holiday and there’s much believe you me.

Thinking of those who are lonely and those who have lost someone dear to them take care 💕

Good morning from Durham. A mixed day of sun, wind and a chance of rain mid-afternoon.
I’m taking a friend to an 8am hospital appointment, then a long drive to see DGS1 swimming - he’s very good.
I think DD2 is coming later with DGS2 and her DH might be able to sort out my Sky, the company isn’t helpful and I’m seriously considering cancelling.
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a fine and dry Torbay.

I think I can understand why Sunday has a poignancy for you, grandMattie and Bellasnana with the likelihood of it evoking thoughts of what you did with your beloved. Sending hugs to you both.

It falls to me to play the piano for the early service at 9.30 today. One advantage is that allows me to sit for much of the time for which my recovering sprained ankle will be grateful. It is more than three months since I injured it when I fell over in Lerwick!

My 14 year old DGS2 has exactly that hairstyle, Mizuna! After a recent family cruise to the Mediterranean, my DD told me he didn’t catch the sun at all on his face!!

A blessed Sunday to you all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

grandMattie Sun 25-Aug-24 06:31:32

Wow, karma. You are some seamstress! Congratulations 🥳

Mizuna Sun 25-Aug-24 06:25:36

Flippin' heck karmalady, you're a marvel!!! 🤩

Good morning from Cornwall where sun is on the agenda apparently. An unexpected visit from my youngest son and 14-year-old grandson last evening was a delight. We laughed and laughed. My grandson hides behind a cascade of hair which I'm sure should be at the back of his head, not the front, but I like his look, it's quirky.

I went to the Fair Day, the busiest thing I've tackled in months. It was noisy, frenetic and fun. My fave charity shop had a sale and I bought three items, one a Seasalt top, for £2.50. Grinned my way home. 😁

Today I'll make a start on my neighbour's patio and go to church at 4pm. A young man in our congregation is being baptised in the sea this morning so I'll hear all about that once when I get there.

I have never worked out how to send an image. I sent myself an e mail from my phone and went the long way around

This is my latest, a cycling top

Good morning from Malta where the heat is oppressive. High humidity makes it feel very sticky.

Yesterday my bookcase cleaning was interrupted by DD3 asking if I’d like to join her and the boys for a trip to the Playmobil factory. Of course I went as I know it’s easier for her with an extra pair of hands.

I did finish the big bookcase later and have a big bag of books to chuck. Nobody seems to want them these days with charity shops saying they already have more than they can handle.

grandMattie, I agree that Sunday is the loneliest day but I often feel lonely. Not because I have nobody to talk to just that the person I most want to share things with is not here any more. Sending you a hug.💐

Mass this morning, chat with my Leicester pal, then more scouring of photo albums.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

grandMattie Sun 25-Aug-24 05:56:11

Take… 😡

grandMattie Sun 25-Aug-24 05:55:38

Thanks karma. No I didn’t know. Will my app update itself or should I get a new one?
Also, would you rake photos of your amazing garments to show us, please?

karmalady Sun 25-Aug-24 05:52:06

Good morning from s somerset, a dry cooler day today

GM have you looked at the new bus times for september, somerset buses have done a major re-vamp, much improved transport, from september

Yesterday was beyond busy, I got the bit between my teeth and worked until 8pm, filed all my patterns from the year dot and threw several out. Next stage for another rainy day, is to sort my wardrobe, it contains many wearable toiles, I have decisions to make. It was a satisfying, albeit very tiring, day

Today will be purely hedonistic, starting with a croissant. A bike ride as soon as I can and then tv or radio and slow, easy, hand sewing and easy food

Have a good day

grandMattie Sun 25-Aug-24 05:46:28

Good morning from a dry, mild Bristol.
To my surprise, the church coffee and chat attracted nearly 20 people, as the weather was very wet and stormy as well as being a bank holiday weekend.
I managed my church clean - supposed to be 30 minutes but to do a reasonable job, it took me longer.
Usual Sunday. I always found Sundays the hardest ; in my solitude I rarely feel lonely but on Sundays I do.
I hope you all have a happy long weekend. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good Morning Everyone,
Its twilight at the moment but its clear and dry here in brackley at the moment.
A day of tidy up housework etc for me , after breakfast ,a day indoors watching TV.
My condition seems to vary with the weather , to warm effects me like a bad day ,and if its just right then a different reaction again.
Take Care,
Mick
