The usual routine for me with the bus trip to and from Bicester .
I will do a shop ,and hopefully have a chance to talk to some I know , in some cases former work colleagues.
Return and watch my cycling on TV .
Health wise still up or down the good days ,bad days scenario
Take Care,
Mick.

Good morning from a fine, calm Torbay.

Yesterday morning a kind neighbour helped me to put together an item of furniture bought from Dunelm. He owns a removal firm so it was familiar territory for him. After living here for 10 years, I’m finally getting rid of old pieces of furniture which were moved here “for the time being”! I have more arriving next week.

Today, I’m due at the physio department at Torbay Hospital for a steroid injection in my arthritic knee. Exercises have helped a little but, in recent months, I’ve needed to use a stick if out walking and struggle to put weight on it when I get up in the night because the knee has stiffened. The joys of…!

Wishing everyone a good day, especially Mick. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Hope today is one of the good days, Mick. A lovely sunrise this morning in South Yorkshire and I have been awake since half past three. I was tired last night, too, having walked round the country park yesterday. A different kind of walk this morning and then lunch with DD and I must call in on my niece on the way home.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from a dry Bristol. My washing is done, now needs hanging out.,,
Your coffee table thing looks lovely, Ash. It’s nice to have helpful neighbours, isn’t it? I hope the injection helps your knee. Has it been replaced, or are you waiting for an op?
I had a “dementia” experience yesterday, having been volunteered by the vicar. It is all part of a new project for “later life” centring in the church accommodation - two nice rooms - started by several later life organisations and the two local churches.
This involved wearing prickly insoles, builders gloves, headsets with constant garbled speech, glasses with limited vision and disco lights, then given instructions like “pair the socks”. Talk about disorienting…. Some of the pointers given were helpful.
It was more tiring than I expected, so spent a quiet afternoon. I’m did make a large ragu, some of which I ate for dinner. The rest will be frozen and trotted out in the week.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Malta where we had a much needed downpour yesterday and, apparently, a storm overnight which I slept through.

Love your table, Ash, hope the injection helps your knee. 🙏🏻

The boys were so good yesterday although littlest is very concerned as to where Mama has gone, he keeps asking if she’s in the car.

I’m just having a quick coffee before going to look after them. It will be a long day but I will enjoy being with them.

DD1 and her little dog are making the long journey from the US to Malta which entails three flights. She has recently split up with her partner so I worry about her being so far from home. Although it’s getting on for twenty years that she’s been in the States I will never really get used to it.

Wishing you all a good day but always thinking of those for whom the days are a challenge.☀️

kittylester Thu 29-Aug-24 06:45:51

Good morning all from a brightening North Leicestershire.

Hoping to visit DD1 who is still in hospital. With luck, she will be in a bed on a ward rather than on the floor in a corridor. Her temperature is coming down but she still feels really ill.

Apart from that, I want to make some bread, repot some house plants and we have a Sainsbury's delivery late afternoon.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a bright Cornwall, sunny again today, so will wash my latest charity shop buys and hang them out to dry. Will spend most of the day on my neighbour's patio doing more weed-clearing.

The photo is a couple of years old but new to me; my daughter-in-law sent it yesterday. It tickles me because my little ones chose to investigate the spooky WWII weapons store, now sealed up, when at the top of those steps is a panoramic vista of a Cornish bay complete with lighthouse plus acres of parkland to play in. 😁

Smart table Ash. I'd have that covered with books in no time, despite resolving to keep it clear. 😂

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
We have a funeral first thing a former angling member of DH fishing club.
Meeting friends this evening at the club.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Ashcombe Thu 29-Aug-24 06:52:28

Yes, Mizuna; it will soon be littered with “stuff”, no doubt! The drawer can be accessed from either side.

No, I’ve had three physio sessions, grandMattie so this is the next stage on the (very long!) journey to see an orthopaedic consultant. 🤞

cornergran Thu 29-Aug-24 06:57:09

Morning Mick, morning All from a brightening corner of Somerset.

Wandered to a to tiny cafe off the tourist route yesterday. We had a sea wall table and simply sat enjoying the sun. Today we’re off (far too) early to take our grandson out for the day. It’s a rare treat for us, hope he agrees!

Hope the injection helps ash and you find your daughter is less poorly than you fear kitty. The dementia experience sounds a real challenge grandmattie.

Must get a wriggle on. Hope Thursday is kind to us all,

GrannyGravy13 Thu 29-Aug-24 07:02:30

Morning all from a bright and sunny S E Essex. Cleaners are here first thing, then I should really pop into Chelmsford to get gifts for my sister’s birthday. I have a manicure and pedicure appointment late afternoon.

Lovely table Ashcombe hope your knee feels better after the injection.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

karmalady Thu 29-Aug-24 07:05:16

Good morning from s somerset, sunny and dry today

Today will mostly be spent upstairs, I am going to carry on with filing sewing fabric stash, am doing it properly this time, with bigger swatches on information sheets, in ring files. Obviously also outside as I like to get some sun and air. Weeding my new, already fruitful, new raspberries for starters

Fab day yesterday, so fast (for me) on my bike but scary thought of losing hard-won fitness over winter. Son is sending me info on staying fit indoors, using short sharp methods as my boredom, with indoor exercise, has a very low threshold

Easy meals today

Have a good day

Redcar Thu 29-Aug-24 07:10:52

Good morning everyone from a dry and sunny mid Essex. Today should be a more comfortable 23 degrees. Yesterday was very warm so I didn’t do a lot ( no change there). I watered the front garden early before the sun came round on to it. I picked the last of the dwarf beans and pulled out the plants. I need to get some winter flowering plants to go into the trough.
I hope the injection helps your knee ash and that your daughter will soon feel better kitty.
I hope today is kind to us all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 29-Aug-24 07:11:49

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

It is my Book Group today. We will meet over a sandwich lunch in the village coffee shop. This month we have all read
The Song Collector by Natasha Solomons. At first it seemed a bit second-rate Elizabeth Jane Howard, but actually it was rather good.

OH is having cortisone injections in both knees today. I do hope they do the trick as at the moment he is in pain just walking up stairs.

Have a good day everyone.

luluaugust Thu 29-Aug-24 07:12:06

Good morning from a sunny W Kent where I shall spend the morning catching up on house things. This afternoon off to meet a couple of friends from my art group. They no longer come but want to stay in touch.
Kitty I hope you find your DD is more comfortable. Ash hoping the steroid injection works well
Best wishes

Georgesgran Thu 29-Aug-24 07:12:12

Good Morning from Durham. There’s a fine, sunny day forecast.
Nothing planned today, but I have DD2’s Little Dog with me for 10 days. DD1 has DGS1 to entertain, so there’s a suggestion we do something together.
Hope other DDs are on the mend - it’s a worry, isn’t it?
Best wishes to all. X

RosesandLilac Thu 29-Aug-24 07:13:49

Good morning from south Glos where the sky is ominously black despite the sun trying to break through.
Yesterday after an early dog walk I spent a couple of hours in the garden sorting out a new planter, brushing up detritus and leaves and sorting out empty flower pots before it suddenly bucketed down.
An afternoon doing not a lot but I did sort out all my embroidery threads and bits and bobs so I now have them tidied in my mother’s sewing box.
Today I will start a crewel embroidery, it’s years since I did one.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Grandmabatty Thu 29-Aug-24 07:15:06

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 11° and dull. There's signs of rain in the night. Ash I like your coffee table. I hope the injection helps. Bellasnana enjoy your day with the boys.
Yesterday l had an early haircut. My hairdresser is really popular and he starts work at seven in the morning. That's a bit too early for me. He's really kind. He always puts a free something in my handbag. Yesterday it was volumiser shampoo. On the way home, I popped into Aldi and picked up raspberries and sugar to make jam. The Scottish raspberries are coming to an end but are still lovely. I also picked up a couple of lime curd buns which are also good. I made eight jars of jam which have set beautifully. I did a spot of housework later too.
Today I'm going to make bread. I love homemade bread. Apart from that, no plans. I hope your daughter is getting the help she needs Kitty. Have a good day all

NannyJan53 Thu 29-Aug-24 07:20:51

Good morning from a much brighter Black Country.

Walking group walk this morning, then over to Mums to take her for an appointment this afternoon to have ears syringed. Then will pop over to DD's. She is back at school on Monday. This holiday seems to have sped by!

Then tomorrow morning taking her to a Memory cafe, so will stay overnight as it is an early start.

My 'little' brother is 69 today. I say little as he is 2 years younger, but he is 6ft 4. Photo is of our childhood on Rhyl beach.

Hoping your DD is feeling much better today Kitty, how awful that she had to spend time on the floor in a corridor! Hoping she is in a Ward now.

Wishing you all the best day possible

brook2704 Thu 29-Aug-24 07:22:21

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it looks breezy with light grey cloud
Lovely table Ash I like the furniture from Dunelm
Yesterday I got lots of holiday washing done and then we were invited round to DD2s for something to eat and catch up on all their news. It was lovely seeing the DGC again, although DGS was pushing the boundaries quite a bit - he’s almost 11 and growing up far too fast. I still managed to get a quick cuddle though!
Today apart from finishing off the washing, I’ve got a volunteering session at the hospital which I’m looking forward to
Hoping your poorly DD is back home soon kitty and feeling a bit better
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Marydoll Thu 29-Aug-24 07:31:45

Good morning from a cloudy Glasgow,
Yet another disturbed night, I am like a half shut knife.
We have BabyD until bedtime tonight I do not know how I will survive.

Yesterday was a catalogue of disasters, including finding someone had hacked away the bramble bushes behind our house ( there were none 🤬) and accidently pulling out the plug on the breadmaker instead of the Kitchen Aid. I only realised when I went to check if the bread was ready. All I had was a gooey mess. Not to be daunted, I threw it in the oven and baked it! It was actually quite nice.
The crumble and raspberry muffins were a success, so not a complete disaster.

I hope the injection helps Ash, will they do it using ultrasound and do you have to rest your leg? I get them for my RA and I am not allowed to work the joint for a certain time.

Baby will be here soon and I haven't yet cleared the decks, so I need to get going.
Bella, safe journey to your DD, you must be so excited!

Thinking of all, who are struggling. It is good to see you posting, Kalu. X

Have a good day, folks.

harrigran Thu 29-Aug-24 07:52:53

Good morning from afairly bright NE.
The heating is on so it must be still cool.
I have an appointment with the practice nurse at lunchtime, chronic illness check up. DIL has taken the day off work and will drive me there.
It is SIL'S birthday, not seeing him and DD today but she suggested we went out for lunch on Friday.
Sorry to hear your DD is still in hospital kitty, hope she feels better soon.

Gingster Thu 29-Aug-24 07:54:50

Good morning all and we’re in for another warm day. Not as hot as yesterday thank goodness. The heat really drains me.
I walked up to town and met my friend for a coffee and we then bumped into Dd and little DGD who had been to the dentist and bought new school shoes. Meandered through the market and realised my hair appointment was 10 minutes away. Rushed down the hill and got there in time. 🥵.

When I got home, I stripped off and sat in front of the fan in my undies. Not a pretty sight! 😬.

Today I have bowls and will then pick up Dd and take her shopping.

Lovely occassional table Ash. Hope the injection eases the pain.
I hope your Dd feels better soon Kitty.

Take care 🌻

Jaxjacky Thu 29-Aug-24 07:55:36

Morning from a sunny S Hants, cooler than yesterday. We have a very similar table Ash one side against a wall, so those drawers are quite empty, I hope your injection is beneficial.
Your poor daughter kitty let’s hope she’s on a ward now.
Our bedding is in the machine, it should dry well outside.
I think this year will be my worse ever for tomatoes, I’m normally giving away bags of them, disappointing.
Have a pleasant day all

kittylester I hope your DD is on the mend and able to return home.
