Good Morning Everyone,
I have woken up to dry conditions but its twilight here in brackley at the moment.
Today my usual spin on the bus to Bicester and back .
Followed by lunch ,and then settle down to watch the cycling from Spain.
Health wise , still in that good day ,bad day situ as regards to things , I think the warm air and heat somehow effects my system ,as I tend to feel better in cooler and milder conditions.
Take Care,
Mick

Mizuna, your garden is lovely, looks mysterious and a little exotic! I could find a little nook there and stay all day!

Doodle Fri 30-Aug-24 09:35:35

Thinking of Kalu too and also hoping Urms is doing ok.
NannyG4 hoping you have some sunshine today.

Good morning from West Sussex. The sun is shining and another warm day is forecast. It has been pleasant warmth here, not too hot. Yesterday I had my first walk beyond the house and garden since my head injury. We went to a local nature reserve and picked blackberries. It was lovely with plenty of wildflowers still blooming and berries and golden leaves giving an early autumn glow.

I have spent most of my days recently doing gentle sorting of ‘stuff’ and decluttering. I am putting notes and labels on things to say what they are and, with most things, that they can just be dumped in the event of my death or incapacity. You can tell that my fall made me take my mortality more seriously 🫤.

Glad to hear your DD is home kitty. I hope the antibiotics kick in soon and she feels better.

EkwaNimitee, what a shame you had to cancel your weekend. I hope you feel better soon.

A roofer is coming today to see if he can spot what caused a leak through the living room ceiling a few weeks ago, after torrential rain. No sign of anything since but winter is coming!

Thinking of Kalu and others bereaved or suffering 🌺

Good morning all the weather outside looks bright and breezy here on the east coast of Fife

I’m a little later today but thankfully I’m sleeping much better.
I’m off to the dentist this afternoon followed by buying flowers for my friend who stays near to the dentist.
My new PA carer is going to cut my grass for me today he’s also going to peal my lovely big fat juicy oranges as I’m unable to do that having had the stroke 5 yrs ago causing my left hand and arm to be disabling.

Have a good day my friends and keep safe

Jaxjacky Fri 30-Aug-24 08:42:41

Morning from sunny S Hants, my back exercises, done before I get up, are making a difference. I had an ocular migraine last night, first one for about three years and woke at 4:30 with a headache, slept it off, but feel a little washed out. Tesco delivery, cloakroom cleaning and ignoring the smeary patio door today.
Glad your daughter is home kitty, wondering about Urms too.

EkwaNimitee Fri 30-Aug-24 08:30:32

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle. For once, it may stay that way! Pity you don't live in the North Mick, we're not short of cool weather here to keep you comfortable.
Yesterday I started making a slow recovery from my infection but sadly felt I had to cancel my weekend away. Fortunately, I was able to get my rail tickets refunded.
This morning I am shortly out. I need some fresh veggies and I shall visit the garden centre for bulbs. I shall have to restrain myself, I have a passion for tulips and am likely to overindulge but my modest garden is already pretty full. Most of all, I just must get out, I have cabin fever and hate being confined indoors unable to do much.

I shall read all your posts later, do have a good day all of you.

GrannySomerset Fri 30-Aug-24 08:29:19

Glorious morning and a lovely day forecast, so oldies’ coffee morning and a potter in the garden beckon. Yesterday didn’t go to plan as my elderly filter coffee maker blew the electrics in the entire house. My lovely electrician responded to my cry for help and sorted it out but didn’t know why the blow out was so total and is back next week to check everything. Suspect the board will need replacing but we will see. My neighbour took pity on me and gave me lunch, which was very kind. New coffee maker being delivered later today. There is always a surprise!

GrannyIvy Fri 30-Aug-24 08:28:03

Gingster love the quilling
Kitty so pleased to hear your daughter is home and hope all goes well
Ash hope knee injection helps

Gingster Fri 30-Aug-24 08:18:36

First quilling attempt

monk08 Fri 30-Aug-24 08:12:58

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Shopping today didn't do it yesterday and cupboards are looking a bit bare.
Tablet needs charging so will read the 32 posts before this later, enjoy your day whatever your plans and may you all find some ☀️.

Gingster Fri 30-Aug-24 08:12:44

Good morning all and it’s another bright and sunny one. Not too hot (I hope). 🤞.

Yesterday Dd, DGD and I went shopping for school cardigans, none to be had so ordered from M and S online.
After food shopping we came back here and DGD found my Quilling box and immediately wanted to learn how to do it. Dd remembered me teaching her and made a lovely card. DGD picked it up fairly quickly after a few frustrating attempts and raised voices ( I CANT DO IT)but she won’t give up with anything and eventually mastered the technique. I can see everyone receiving quilled Christmas cards this year.

Kitty I’m so pleased your Dd is now home. She will feel better now and hopefully gradually recover 🙏.

Harrigan glad you’ve got an appointment to see the doc.

Mizuna I love your patio.

Ash take it easy in your knee for a few days.

We are meeting our Friday friends at lunchtime so will catchup with all their news from the past couple of weeks.

Have a good day 🌻

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 30-Aug-24 08:09:40

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It feels warm,

I am off to Oxford later. I have a long shopping list for things like a new bathroom mirror, black trousers etc., etc. I hope OH will cut the lawns when I’m out. He had injections in both knees yesterday and felt the difference fairly soon.

Have a good day everyone, especially those of you with difficulties.

Ziplok Fri 30-Aug-24 08:07:10

Good morning,

It’s a beautiful morning here, with a lovely blue sky and sunshine. I doubt it will remain cloudless for long, but I’m enjoying it whilst it lasts.

I’m glad the injection went well, Ash, and hope it will give you plenty of relief from pain.

A few things to do this morning, but a lazy afternoon, I think.

brook2704 Fri 30-Aug-24 08:03:52

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve light grey cloud and the sun is due out later
Pleased to hear the knee injection went well Ash hope it lasts for you
Today I’m meeting my pal for a coffee and a catch up, we’ve both been away so we’ll be looking at each others holiday photos.
Good to hear your DD is back home Kitty hope she’s much better soon
Enjoy the family time together Bellas
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Georgesgran Fri 30-Aug-24 07:59:52

Fingers crossed Marydoll.
I’m at the ‘end of my rope’ as the saying goes with Sky! X

Liberty Fri 30-Aug-24 07:58:30

Good morning from another sunny Suffolk. We are back with WiFi and it’s surprising how much we’ve come to rely on it. Our very helpful IT hero spend over 2 hours getting it back to normal and ensuring all our devices including my Kindle were logged on.

I’m off to the hairdressers later this morning where I’ll get all the local gossip, given in the friendliest way and then DH will meet me for lunch in our favourite pub in the town.

A friend has just started a walking group and I love the name…..Ambling Arthritics! Such a name won’t put anyone off joining apart, perhaps, from the younger and fitter amongst us.

Hope today is a good one for all.

Grammaretto Fri 30-Aug-24 07:57:41

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is cool but dry.
Yesterday stayed warm and sunny.

It was lovely to see Stilllearning again but we were so busy talking she only just caught her bus home. The buses are rare on that route.

Today I have my volunteer shift in the morning and a vaccination this afternoon.

I hope your injection makes a big improvement Ash. I have heard good reports.

I would hope to hear from Urms too. Wishing her well.

Have the best day possible everyone.

luluaugust Fri 30-Aug-24 07:53:52

Good morning from a bright W Kent. A little adventure today to take some model railway carriages to be sold, part of the clearing out exercise. I am hoping to combine this with a visit to Sissinghurst, we shall see. A good catch up yesterday with a friend from my art group.
Glad the jab went well Ash and DD is home Kitty. Marydoll Hope you get your adventure
Best wishes

Taichinan Fri 30-Aug-24 07:53:34

Good morning all from a beautiful sunny start on the Angus coast. Chilly though!
If that's your patio Mizuna it looks really lovely. How strange your neighbour doesn't want plants.
So glad your DD is back in her own bed Kitty and that your knee injection went well Ash.
I was really tired yesterday after tai chi - I must have worked then hard! - so little was done in the afternoon. Today I must go down to the new M&S in Dundee to get DS1 a birthday present. I find him very difficult to buy for. Hard to believe that that tiny little scrap who came into the world 57 years ago weighing 6lb 1oz is now this enormous 6ft 4ins bearded and balding giant! And a grandfather to boot!!
Enjoy this 'season of mists and mellow fruitfulness' everyone x

cornergran Fri 30-Aug-24 07:50:13

Morning Mick, morning All. A mix of cloud and sun forecast for our corner of Somerset. Cooler out there.

A thoroughly enjoyable day with our grandson yesterday. He had a lot of fun, wants to repeat our activities with his parents, a good sign. We kept up without problem as he slowed his pace to ours. A kind lad. His view of the world, he sees it via an autistic filter, is often fascinating and in a lot of cases very sensible. Mr C managed to fall in a play park, fortunately landing on a soft surface, no harm done other than to his pride and my blood pressure. I enjoyed the chance to have a go on a swing to the great amusement of Mr C, the photographic evidence is not for sharing!

A meeting to attend this morning where I must try not to be steamrollered by a forceful member. We agree about virtually nothing. I’m hoping Mr C will iron bed clothes while I’m out

With thoughts to all managing challenging health, hope Friday is kind to us all.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 30-Aug-24 07:42:30

Morning all, The Imp and 9yr old are here today, no plans. Will see what they want to do.

Meeting up with friends for dinner this evening in local Indian restaurant.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

harrigran Fri 30-Aug-24 07:38:27

Good morning from a dry NE.
Went to bed early last night because I was so tired, slept for 8.5 hours.
DIL and GD1 came yesterday lunchtime and I went to the GP surgery for my check up.
I asked the nurse to include more blood checks in an attempt to get to the bottom of my feeling unwell for so long.
She was a lovely nurse and listened while I poured out my woes. She said she thought I should see a doctor and like magic she arranged an appointment for Tuesday.
Today DD and SIL are taking me out to lunch, looking forward to hearing about her holiday.
Have a good day.
.

Stilllearning Fri 30-Aug-24 07:35:11

Early for me good morning from South Lanarkshire where it looks calm and bright, hopefully it will last today. A lovely lunch with Grammaretto yesterday in her town which I have never visited before and a lovely bus journey en route, what a nice way to spend the day.

I’m a bit wary after*Georges Gran*’s tribulations with Sky as they are coming to me today to install multi room service for me! I’ve got my fingers crossed.

Glad all went well Ash with your injection, I hope it settles soon.

I’ve just written a list of calls that have to be made today when I’m stuck at home anyway so if I get that done it will declutter my mind a bit which will be good.

Hope all who are or who have poorly family members, have a better day.

Marydoll Fri 30-Aug-24 07:33:17

Good morning all from a cool Glasgow, where it is 10°C.

Glad to hear the injection went well, Ash, have a restful day.
I am pleased to hear your daughter is home, * Kitty*, what a worrying time for you..

Yesterday was full on with BabyD. It was 7pm, before we took her home. We had torrential rain on and off, so we didn't get out much.
I had the bright idea of getting her out in the rain in her new puddle suit and wellies. She refused point blank to wear the wellies!!

Dollie came to visit after school and kept Baby amused. A good catch up on her school news and impressing us with her times table knowledge passed the time pleasantly.
She couldn't wait to tell me that teachers kept asking if she was my granddaughter. I am infamous. 😉
DIL asked why Baby was drawing on a hospital letter. A hospital letter??????
Apparently DH had received a letter about the RSV vaccine and as is his want and dumped it on the coffee table. 🤬
I hope the multicoloured letter cheers up the staff.

DH is off on a golf outing with DS1 down to Girvan. They will be away all day and depending on how I feel, once I have come to , I may go on an adventure on my own.. Watch this space. 😉

Enjoy your meeting with your cousin , GMattie and have a good day folks.

Grandmabatty Fri 30-Aug-24 07:27:00

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and sunny. Hoorah!! GrannyIvy I hope you feel better soon.
Yesterday I made a lovely white bloomer. I've managed to only have two slices. I love homemade bread. I got many of my tubs and baskets emptied of the remains of plants and did three washes. I washed all the cushion covers too. They get grubby with sticky little fingers on them.
Today dgs1's school is having a family picnic,so I'm glad the weather is decent. After that, I'll sit in dds house when she picks up dgs1 from school while dgs2 naps. Then home for a Tesco delivery. A pleasant day ahead. Have a good day all.
