Listening to radio this morning I heard that tickets for Oasis concert at Wembley where over 400.00 each!!! This is without hotel, travel and catering costs on the day 🙈🙈🙈

Lots of people can't stand coldplay, though.
I like them, but it is not popular to admit it.

Well, I've got an Oasis song as an earworm.
Don't ask me the title (or most of the words).

Kate1949. That would have been 10/- or ten bob. I saw them as well at Margate Winter Gardens and they just bounced out onto the stage. So much screaming you couldn't hear them. No idea what my ticket cost.

I hope it is televised at some stage. It will give all the cities a boost.

I was beside myself with excitement at going to see the Beatles at the Finsbury Park Empire; see them was all I did, as the moment they were announced, screaming almost raised the roof, and my friend and I didn't hear a single note. I still feel cheated.

I wonder if some people would like Oasis more if they looked more like the Beatles did, floppy hair, clean and wholesome, instead of rather grungey and unappetising?

Their music is not dissimilar.

That’s very intolerant of you specki4eyes, I really don’t think 14 million people have it that wrong! Think of them like the 1990s versions of the Beatles and the Stones - one is pop, one is rock. I don’t dislike Coldplay, but I think of them as musak, in the background at the supermarket, whereas Oasis have edge. Each to their own, but it’s not good form to be scathing about other peoples musical choices. Vive La difference! (Or in Coldplay speak maybe it should be Viva La Vida)

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 04-Sept-24 06:04:39

Well said Casdon. Wouldn’t it be dull if we all liked the same type of music?

HelterSkelter1 Wed 04-Sept-24 07:18:47

Oh widgeon3. I haven't heard the word "sent" for years and years!!!! Crikey for a moment I am 15...not 75.

I love Coldplay, but then again I go to
see that Take That whenever they are touring 🤣🤣

The latest tour was brilliant 🎶🎵🎶🎵

It cost me 50p to see The Beatles in 1964 grin

Gosh you could have bought a house with that amount then😂😂😂

We went to live in the USA in 1964, I was 7.
Mum said everywhere we went people asked if we'd met the Beatles. The assumption seemed to be that coming from such a small country we must have bumped into them at some point 🤣

I did actually bump into Paul a few years later, back on the Wirral and out walking our dogs. He had his Old English sheepdog Martha and was with Jane Asher and his stepsister, who was at our primary school.
We chatted for some time while the two dogs chased round, and as we went on our way my little sister said, "Do you know him or something?" 🤦

I think ticket prices are too high for lots of fans. Can’tunderstand those buying tickets on suspect sites.

RosiesMaw2 Wed 04-Sept-24 09:20:27

All that (or indeed any) money for Oasis - really?

I wonder how big the covid outbreak will be after all these people swap germs.

Why would an Oasis concert be any different in that respect from any other large gathering? The Olympics, Paralympics, other concerts, theatre shows, football matches, etc etc...

3nanny6 Wed 04-Sept-24 09:48:25

I am a fan of Oasis and would have liked to have got a ticket all though it would have probably been too much standing for me. It is a ridiculous price to pay for a ticket I hear that tickets were selling at £480 00. and no one is supposed to have any money at the moment.

Bibblebibbleblop Wed 04-Sept-24 14:46:43

Nothing like Oasis reforming for a boomer to deduce it means people are lying about the cost of living. Plus lots of tickets cost this amount. Many many people live in poverty and can’t afford them. There is over 66 million people in the U.K. Some people can afford more than others 🤦🏼‍♀️

TiggyW Tue 10-Sept-24 01:26:32

I wouldn’t go to an Oasis concert if you paid me!! Couldn’t stand the Beatles either. 🥴
Pink Floyd and Metallica for me please!! 👍😎

Debbi58 Tue 10-Sept-24 10:11:57

I'm going to their opening night at Cardiff, with 2 of my sisters. My younger sister is the one that books tickets for various concerts. We paid £125 , for a seated ticket. She has a campervan, so we'll go in that. It will be the first concert I've been too for many years. Sisters go quite often 😃

Babs03 Tue 10-Sept-24 10:24:39

Well as has been said we all have different tastes. I love Cher and ABBA which according to most of my family means I am not a big music fan. 🤨

Ali08 Fri 13-Sept-24 05:28:27

I wouldn't pay even half of that!
I know they have staff etc to pay, but that's atrocious!!
