Is Disney children only, are you a Disney loving adult?

A bit of plagiarism here from Mumsnet but a question I often ask myself this question.
I couldn’t spend a day at a Disney theme park, it’s everything I hate.
I always think it’s a little odd seeing adults with Disney clothing and accessories.
There is a famous Walliams and Lucas sketch that sums it up, I will search for a link.

That sketch makes me laugh. I am not a fan of little b

Sorry. Am not a fan of little Britain but that does make me laugh.
I loved visiting Disneyland Paris but that is about the extent of my interest

We love Disney, so does our daughter if 27. Rest of our family can take it or leave it as adults, but as children visited EuroDisney three times and Orlando twice and mostly loved it.

I also loved LB, even though not at all PC! Love that sketch! Though I loathed “Bitty” and the “throwing up” and “weeing” characters!

Spent one day in Disneyland Los Angeles, and that was enough. The DC agreed. We much preferred Universal Studios. But I do love Disney films; my favourite has always been Cinderella, after I first saw it at the age of 6.

grin grin

I have been to both Disneyland P and the one in Florida. Managed not to steal a single thing...

What is everyone's favourite Disney film? I loved Aladdin but recent ones, I like Moana.

Are Pixar classed as Disney?

Galaxy Fri 06-Sept-24 12:33:10

I have a soft spot for Ratatouille.

Grandma70s Fri 06-Sept-24 12:35:30

I didn’t like Disney cartoons even when I was a child!

Grandma70s Fri 06-Sept-24 12:37:45

My mother, born 1907, remembered seeing the first Mickey Mouse cartoons.

I've never quite 'got' the whole Disney thing, although I did enjoy watching some of the films. We never took our children to Disneyland or anything like that. I do have a couple of adult friends who are absolutely obsessed with anything Disney, from wearing Disney clothes to home decor.

Visgir1 Fri 06-Sept-24 12:47:30

I have always loved Disney especially when they did Disney Time on TV on Bank Holidays when I was as a kid.
We also have Disney + for our Grandchildren.

We have taken our Children to Florida and Paris Disney several times, we have Done Universal studios too, had a great time but, moved on after 1 week.
But, seeing a grown up wearing Disney clothes, out and about is rather odd to me.

JaneJudge Fri 06-Sept-24 12:51:39

of course the disney clothes must be in fashion as primark are selling lots of disney themed outfits

Cossy Fri 06-Sept-24 13:22:48

I’ve never worn Disney clothing, and never will!! I like the atmosphere, I love the rides, I like the characters and at night the fireworks and parades are magical!

My DD and her husband and children are big fans. I simply don't understand the whole plastic fakery of it all. Could never beat crowds or long queues so it's absolutely not for me.

Cabowich Fri 06-Sept-24 13:42:07

We took our two children to Disneyland, Florida about 30 years ago. I was in the public loos one day and had to laugh at a conversation between two women who were roughly my age now.

One woman was telling her friend that she'd visited three times previously with her children, and that this time, at long last, the trip was entirely for her.

Hithere Fri 06-Sept-24 13:43:02

Why limit anything for any audience?

If adults like Disney, what's wrong with that?

Some parks and attractions are not so children oriented at all

Witzend Fri 06-Sept-24 14:13:15

I’m still a fan of some of the old Disneys - Fantasia, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty….
Dh and I visited Disneyland Florida many years ago, while in the US anyway, and enjoyed it, especially Epcot. Years later we took dds at 3 and 6, but I wouldn’t want to go again.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 06-Sept-24 14:18:14

Love all the Florida Disney Parks and the Universal Parks.

Love Rollercoasters as do our AC and GC.

We have magical memories.

I haven’t and wouldn’t wear any Disney/Universal clothing, our children did when young as do our younger GC

Chocolatelovinggran Fri 06-Sept-24 14:24:23

I'm not a Disney fan, but, like Galaxy, I will make an exception for Ratatouille.

Harris27 Fri 06-Sept-24 14:29:05

Nit really a Disney fan but the girls at work are. They absolutely love going to America and Paris saying it’s for their kids but they really love it! Not my thing but everyone is different.

MissAdventure Fri 06-Sept-24 14:29:36

None of it appeals to me.
