Queen and Prince Phillip Statues

Cossy you have managed to start a thread where everyone is I agreement, a very rare occurrence. I agree they are awful.

Goodness. I thought the one of Princess Diana was pretty dire but these are dreadful.

What a shame that our longest reigning monarch, and her "one of a kind" husband, globally respected and admired, are going to be immortalised in such an unflattering way.

I think they are really awful. They would probably both laugh their heads off if they could see it. They have no redeeming qualities, the artist should be locked in the Tower.

I have just read that some people think the Queen's statue makes her look like Mrs Doubtfire.

Looked again her arms are very wrong most peoples arm bend is at the waist level hers is way higher no not good at all

She looks like Mrs Brown ….she looks wider in the shoulder than Phillip

They’re appalling! I hope they both come back to haunt him!

His name is Philip. One L. Not Phillip.

The statue of him isn’t too bad, but the one of the Queen is terrible. Unrecognisable apart from the handbag and the corgis.

They are horrible statues…..

I don’t like them. However, I do agree that the artist has got the stance of Prince Philip right. In terms of physical likeness, not so much, for either of them.

To give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they don't photograph well and look better in real life.

The faces are not accurate, but Prince Phillip's stance is spot on and obviously the late Queens head scarf was her popular headcovering..

Dreadful. Nothing like our late Queen or Price Philip. The only thing the sculptor got right were the corgis.

Nothing like the late Queen and she appears to be holding her arm as if it is paralysed .
The stance of Prince Philip is correct , but nothing else is .
I don't like the artist 's statues of George Best either .
He seems so wooden .

It bears no facial resemblance to the late queen, the clothing could be Barbara Woodhouse or indeed anyone of “that ilk” and Philips stature is just all wrong. Imo
