Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in brackley this morning.
Plans for the day usual bus trip to Bicester , once I have got around the fairground rides to get to the temporary bus stop.
Hopefully meet others I know , return home and do Fish & Chips in the air fryer.
Watch some cycling on TV this afternoon .
Health wise my weight has gone down this morning , since the surgery I have problems going to high weight wise .
Take Care,
Mick

good morning all.
It’s my last day here in Italy. I’m so looking forward to going home to the east coast of Fife where it’s nice and cold, the heat here in Italy isn’t really good for my swollen ankles they’re up like a balloon. I really have had a good time here, however it’s to be Tenerife in February.
Sorry about the negative venting

Good morning from a chilly but dry Torbay. Only six degrees, according to my weather app!

Last night's Agatha performance went well with another virtually full house! I came straight home although the bar was open because I have an early start this morning for a follow up check with the physiotherapist regarding the steroid injection. Sadly, there has been no relief from the arthritic pain in my knee.

Hope Grandmabatty is feeling better today and everyone has a good day. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning Mick and all to follow from Shropshire.A dry and slightly warmer day forecast.

Another quiet day at home while DH recovers from the side effects of his second shingles jab.

Lovely photo Bonnybanko and safe journey home.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩

grandMattie Fri 13-Sept-24 06:10:34

Good morning from a cold Bristol. It’s still dark.
I’m pleased for you, Ash, that the show went off well; good luck with you appointments.
Didn’t feel at all well yesterday so stayed in, slept for a lot of it.
Today, DD incoming over to fill in forms re. scamming; she is going via one of the “no win, no fee” lawyers. It is very difficult and emotional for me to keep talking about it. Hey ho!
I’m also going to a textile exhibition with a church friend. We’ll have a quick sandwich at the church where it is being held.
Have a pleasant Friday. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

RosesandLilac Fri 13-Sept-24 06:22:12

Good morning from a cold but dry hillside in south Glos, the sky is clear and it’s 4°.
Well, the carpenter has finally finished the summerhouse!! DH will have done the painting by this evening and tomorrow I can move all my bits in 👏
I enjoyed catching up with my friends at sewing group yesterday, two hours of chatting and a bit of stitching with a cup of tea and biscuits. Perfect.
Today will be pottering in the garden, my poor roses have been Battered by the downpours, the runner beans are over and need adding to the compost bin and the phlox needs cutting back. That’s just a few things to start with 😊
I hope you all have a good day 🌹

karmalady Fri 13-Sept-24 06:30:08

Good morning from s somerset, it is going to be sunny and dry all day

3 degrees out last night, I am so glad I changed my bedding to warmer and wore winter pjs. So cosy that I did not wake all night. I want to take advantage of the nice day, not windy and I will be happy if I can get out by 10. I don`t like breathing in very cold air when I cycle

Ash, I so hope that the next injection has the good result that you need

I finished a dress last night, just very cheap (sale) broderie cotton fabric but definitely will be nice for two years. I am downloading some A4 sheets now to alter the bodice, to make the top looser, to transform into a very useful pinafore dress for this coming autumn

Have a good day

Georgesgran Fri 13-Sept-24 06:49:36

Good Morning from Cyprus. Just enjoying the heat here.
It would be lovely if you could post a pic of your newly finished summerhouse R&L. It’s been a saga!
DD2 got her colonoscopy results yesterday - tablets prescribed, but nothing untoward.
Best wishes to all. X

GrannyGravy13 Fri 13-Sept-24 06:51:00

Morning everyone, it’s cold here in S E Essex.

I need to wake the 9yr old GS he will want a hot breakfast (egg & baco sandwich I guess) make his school lunch and get him to school for 8 am.

His brother The Imp will arrive at 8.45 when DD goes to work. I have men in the bedrooms decorating, sorting electrics and wardrobes.

Oh and it’s our wedding anniversary, we got married on Friday 13th!🤣🩷💙

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

kittylester Fri 13-Sept-24 07:09:01

Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.

We are going out for lunch with some of DH's old university friends today. It was difficult finding a date where noone had medical appts.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Mizuna Fri 13-Sept-24 07:10:16

Good morning from a brightening Cornwall, going to be sunny by the look of my patio mirrors. Every morning a wren wends her way through the ivy and behind the mirrors finding insects.

Yesterday a lovely catchup with a friend then a jaunt to find ankle boots in size 8, not always easy unless I pay a fortune. Found some burgundy ones in a town somewhat west of here, in a sale. Yippee.

Today I'm over to my son's in a nearby village; the bus passes almost by his house, amazingly. I need to sew some more badges on a Beaver's uniform. Then home to make more adjustments to my flat for my daughter's visit.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 13-Sept-24 07:10:57

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Unless I am mistaken, I am sure there was a light frost on the garage roof!

Yesterday’s boat trip was fun. There were 22 WI ladies on a narrow boat. We had tea and scones and there was a bar! The rain poured and then turned into noisy hail!

OH and I are going to our favourite restaurant for lunch. We haven’t seen each other much this week.

Have a good day everyone. Just remember, it is still officially summer!🌞

Marydoll Fri 13-Sept-24 07:11:25

Good morning all from a chilly Glasgow, where it is only a chilly 2°C.

An exhausting day with BabyD, she was so cross all day, just wasn't her usual self. When she wasn't was eating everything in sight, we knew something was wrong.
Just as she was sitting on the pavement, refusing to budge, Dollie passed in her other gran's car, having been picked up from school for only the second time in her eight years.
DIL ( Dollie's mum) was driving just behind her and stopped to give BabyD a hug. She was having nothing to do with her auntie. Poor Dollie came running back to see her cousin, only to be ignored. Baby was snuggling into Papa and giving everyone the evil eye. She is usually all smiles when she sees Dollie.
We couldn't work out what was wrong with her.
DS treated us to fish suppers and it was only when we were bathing Baby later, we realised she has ulcers in her mouth.
We think she may have, Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. It is rife in the nursery.
Poor wee darling.

Ash, I hope you find some relief. I never found steroid injections gave me much relief, but oral steroids, which I can't really have, were wonderful!

I hope both GMB and GM are improving today
BonnyB, buon viaggio!

I have a very busy day ahead, culminating in picking up our beloved Dollie from school.

There are a couple of photos on the Glesca Grannies thread, if anyone wants a nosy.
Have a great day folks, whatever your plans.

Bellasnana Fri 13-Sept-24 07:13:22

Good morning from Malta where it is hot and windy.

Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs GG. It seems Friday 13th was lucky for you! 🍀

Sorry to hear the heat has got to you Bonnybanko, it is a challenge but looks as though you’ve had a good time. Safe travels back to Bonny Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Ash my friend and I both said how much we wished we could have been at the Agatha Christie production as we’re both fans.
So sorry your injection hasn’t had the result you were hoping for.

DD1 returned from her trip to Naples yesterday so she collected her little dog who had been staying with me. I miss him, he’s a sweet boy but as he was recovering from surgery it was a responsibility and he is an old dog so I was constantly on edge in case anything went wrong on my watch.

Hair appointment this morning then I must take my poor friend out somewhere as we stayed in yesterday and I feel she must be bored stiff.

grandMattie so sorry you are still dealing with that scam. It’s gone on too long. 😞

Hope you all have a good day.☀️

Marydoll Fri 13-Sept-24 07:13:58

Happy anniversary, Granny Gravy! 🥂🎉🥳

That must be a relief, Georgesgran.

Grandmabatty Fri 13-Sept-24 07:19:30

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and bright. The windows have condensation on them and the cars are a wee bit frosted. A cold autumnal start. Ash thank you, I'm feeling a bit better now. GrandMattie I hope you are feeling better today. Susan I was sorry to hear about your worries regarding your mum yesterday. Kitty enjoy your lunch.
Yesterday I had dgs2 all day and dropped off dgs1 at school. He was so excited that he was going to a friend's after school and having dinner there. Dgs2 did miss him later though. He was a thoroughly good boy all day and we had fun.
Today I'm picking him up from playgroup as his mum has a hair appointment. He won't stay long I imagine. Then I'll have a quiet Friday. Have a good day all.

Grandmabatty Fri 13-Sept-24 07:20:06

Happy anniversary to you both Grannygravy

Oopsadaisy1 Fri 13-Sept-24 07:22:43

Good morning from a sunny Oxfordshire, a light frost earlier but it’s now 3 degrees, Alexa tells me it will climb to a heady 13 later….

I had a bad night as I kept waking up cold, Winter duvet on today methinks.

Shopping will be arriving any minute and then I have a tin of marmalade to make.

Have a good day everyone.

Redcar Fri 13-Sept-24 07:23:35

Good morning everyone from a sunny mid essex. Only 5 degrees out according to my garden thermometer. Think I may have to put a slightly warmer duvet on the bed!
ash how disappointing that the steroid injection in your knee didn’t help your pain. Do exercises help at all?
roses and lilac at last your summerhouse is finished and you can finally settle in and enjoy it.
A quiet day dog minding yesterday and was able to get home before it was quite dark. I’ll go for a short walk today, change the bedding and maybe do a little gardening.
Hairdresser coming this afternoon.
Have a good day everyone, thoughts to those in pain or with anxieties.

Gingster Fri 13-Sept-24 07:27:24

Good morning all. Bright, sunny and chilly here in Suffolk by the sea.

Happy anniversary GG .🥂. Enjoy your busy day.

Yesterday we had hailstones and I got drenched running from the supermarket to the car.

Had a lovely catch-up with my old neighbour, coffee and cheese scones. She got re married two years ago and her new husband is a gift. Very handy and a nice, sociable man. She’s hit the jackpot 😂.

Our plumber came (eventually) and replaced the wc handle but didn’t have time to investigate our weird smell coming from the basin. 🙄. We’ll try to find another plumber next time we’re here.

We are travelling back to Essex today after a very relaxing week.
The Orwell Bridge is having structural repairs and our lane will be closed, so holdups are expected .😬.

I’m off on a coach trip to Windsor Great Park on Saturday which should be interesting and enjoyable, with lots of ‘old’ friends. I need to get some snacks to keep me going.

I hope the physio can help your knee Ash
A lot of stress for you GM. So unlucky and not your fault. Hope it gets sorted soon 🙏
Do show us a pic of your summerhouse RosesandLilac.🏡.
So pleased it’s finished at last.

Take care and have the best day. 🍁🌻

brook2704 Fri 13-Sept-24 07:36:59

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright and sunny and about 7°
Happy Anniversary Gg13 have a lovely day! 🥂💐❤️
Marydoll such a shame that babydoll is poorly, hope she’s much better soon
We’re off for a walk this morning and then this afternoon I’m looking forward to meeting my pal for coffee and a catch up.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

cornergran Fri 13-Sept-24 07:39:05

Morning Mick, morning All from a clear, chilly , corner of Somerset.

We both felt exhausted yesterday, there was much resting and napping while trying to read. Volunteering and TaiChi today.

Wishing you a happy anniversary grannyg. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Grammaretto Fri 13-Sept-24 07:45:30

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is 3° but bright sunshine.
Bonny, enjoy the rest of your trip.
I am quite jealous

I have to work today and then I'm being picked up and taken to a family weekend, (our Church) in Lanarkshire, where I shall run a clay workshop tomorrow and hopefully
have a nice time.

My little DGD had that foot, hand and mouth virus recently Marydoll. Poor child she had sores around her nose and mouth. I hope baby doll recovers quickly.

Sorry that your knees are still painful despite the injection Ash. I hope some other treatment works.

Happy anniversary GrannyGravy

Enjoy your special day.

I hope everyone has some joy today.

Greyduster Fri 13-Sept-24 07:53:51

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where there is blue sky with scattered high cloud and it’s COLD!! I will definitely swap the duvet over today. Had a good walk yesterday. The woods are beginning to get that lovely autumn smell. Lunch with DD and GS and then I went to pick up a jacket I had ordered which I’m delighted to say is a perfect fit. Another volunteering session at school this afternoon.
Happy Anniversary GG; enjoy your day!😁🥂💐
Have the best day you can folks.

harrigran Fri 13-Sept-24 07:56:48

Good morning from a sunny but cool NE.
Yesterday was so chilly that the heating was on all day.
For some reason I was extremely tired yesterday so was in bed and asleep by 10pm but was woken by a loud noise at midnight, sounded like a door being kicked. I looked out but could not see anyone.
I dreamt I was playing badminton and ran to return a shot close to the net and fell over except it wasn't just in the dream, I actually fell out of bed and landed on my front. I was shocked and in pain but fell asleep and almost had a repeat performance but the second time I just knocked things off the bedside table.
I have always had very vivid dreams but I don't usually act them out unless under great stress.
Quiet day for me on the sofa with my book.
Happy anniversary GG
