Is Larry now Felis Catus non grata? 🐈

Apparently Larry the Cat has been labelled "a little sh*t" by new Scottish Secretary Ian Murray, who joked that Larry was "the most miserable animal you’ll ever meet".

😯

Now, I'm by no means a cat lover but I do have respect for cats and their judgement, so has Larry got the measure of Mr Murray already?
Who'll be first to go?

I’d hate to have to live in a flat that already has a cat.
Maybe he’s allergic to him?

Apparently Larry refused to have his photo taken with the new Cabinet.

Perhaps he didn't look on it as a Labour of love.

I would get rid of Ian Murray before Larry. Larry has worse names for him than 'little sh*t' I've heard.

AGAA4 Sun 15-Sept-24 15:12:24

Larry is fed up to the whiskers. Another government he has to get rid of. Labour of Love 😄

Grantanow Sun 15-Sept-24 15:20:22

I suspect Larry will survive a few reshuffles yet.

Allira Sun 15-Sept-24 15:24:55

I've got my eye on you, Mr So-called Secretary of State Murray.
It's time you learned who's in charge round here.

Visgir1 Sun 15-Sept-24 16:26:46

Larry has him sussed.. Larry will continue to be there longer than the present incumbent.

BigBopper Sun 15-Sept-24 16:33:19

Animals are very intelligent. So if they don't like someone there must be a good reason.

As Larry is 17 years old, I think he may be due for retirement soon so it is even bets who goes first.

I shall be sorry when he goes.sad

Allira Sun 15-Sept-24 17:04:10

I don't think Larry will retire, he'll just go and terrorise the mice in Cats' Heaven one day, but Mr Murray may have retired to the Shadows by then perhaps.

If the kitten is so posh it may be a house cat.

My darling sister had Siberian cats, they do not like being confined to barracks, they have AirTags on their collars.

It’s interesting to see how they spend the night hours.

Larry must think 10 Downing Street has a revolving doors with all the PM's he has seen in his time. He has had to endure some right idiots. I am on Larry's side here.

DH said Larry's trying to catch up with Queen Elizabeth in the number of Prime Ministers under his reign!

Esmay Sun 15-Sept-24 17:29:06

Careful , Larry .
You'll end up at the vets being euthanased .
It's probably the government's plan for pensioners .

I've covered his ears

I suspect that Larry has grown into his role over the years and is a top bloke who will not be at all concerned by some newbie calling him names. He'll know that those disrespecting him are unlikely to attain the attendance record of No. 10's Foremost Feline !

Witzend Sun 15-Sept-24 18:14:29

Is he a miserable puss, though? Sympathies if so - dd has a truly miserable arse of a cat - they’ve had him a good ten years and he’ll still turn and scratch you if you stroke him for a few seconds - even after he’s come up apparently asking for a stroke! Maybe he does it on purpose, because he just feels like scratching somebody. He’s a GitKat!

He’d never let the Gdcs anywhere near him, so my crazy dd went and got 3 kittens, , so they could have one each. Thank goodness none of them are miserable! They all cost a fortune in cat food though.

mae13 Sun 15-Sept-24 18:17:51

Larry is very astute and has an impressive track record for making quite certain that everyone knows their place - or else.
He's seen off a handful of Prime Ministers, Palmerston Cat (his only serious cat rival) and rebuffed Donald Trump when he visited by hiding under his bomb-proof car to show his contempt.
No prizes for guessing who is REALLY in charge at No. 10.

Indigo8 Sun 15-Sept-24 18:43:02

When Larry goes he should be given the title:-

Mures Prenderat Emeritus

A collar or engraved disc would be nice. Although he would probably prefer a nice bowlful of giblets.

Indigo8 Sun 15-Sept-24 18:49:31

Sorry that should be Murium

AGAA4 Sun 15-Sept-24 20:01:24

Larry won't go until he has sorted this government out. He gets exasperated by newbies. They need to learn their place.

Allsorts Sun 15-Sept-24 20:06:55

He is very suspicious of this lot and is just biding his time.

Allira Sun 15-Sept-24 20:11:48

I agree. New Kids on the Block are of no concern to Larry.

Witzend as mae13 says, all newbies need to be shown their place in the pecking order.
Ian Murray is way down the list and needs to know his place.

Indigo my Latin is rather rusty these days
