This morning I need to make soup, make bread, clean the downstairs of the house, then walk the dog we are temporarily looking after.

This afternoon I need to be suited and booted for a work meeting, home to change, finish off bread and probably cleaning then another dog walk and supper prep.

So why am I sitting her wasting time on SM and drinking tea?

I’ll read it another day!
I’m soo glad it’s not just me that puts things off!
I get fed up with people saying seize the day.
I’d love to have a really do nothing day where everything is done and there’s nothing to worry about.

Pulled bags of clothing out cupboard to sort out for charity shop. Bed and floor now covered and I've ran out of steam. I've pulled the door over!.

I think we would all like that! Sadly that day only comes when we stop procrastinating 😄

I started painting the garden fence before I came in for lunch. I need to finish it today because it’s going to rain tomorrow. I’m sitting here reading about procrastination and writing this. Get your ar*e off the chair my mind keeps saying but my body’s not listening.

Car insurance renewal. Since Mr C turned 80 every year seems to be think of a number and double it.

Car insurance is a nightmare isn't it? Last year I added my daughter to mine and it went down by about £100! I felt rather insulted as I've been driving since 1968 without a claim.

If procrastination was an Olympic spirt, I’d be Team GB’s Gold medallist. I don’t do it all the time - life’s too short; but when I have boring/difficult/unpleasant tasks to do, I can always find 100 other “urgent and important” tasks to fritter away the time. Took me a long time to recognise my procrastination avoidance techniques, but once I did, I started doing the most unwelcome or difficult tasks first, then rewarded myself with the easier or more enjoyable ones afterwards.

Large expanse of glass to be cleaned in the conservatory but, the fairies must have heard me moaning!!, as GD said (2 days ago!!) "I will do them tomorrow" and again today "can't do them today, or Saturday, will do them on Sunday"!! Think I will shut the blinds and forget about it until 'tomorrow' comes!! At least I HAVE got the vacuum out but, so far, no inclination to plug it in and push it!!

This made me laugh TanaMa.. I even got as far as plugging in the vacuum.. then it sat there for days..

If there was a gold medal for procrastination I would get it. However, I am feeling smug because I woke up this morning not wanting to go to the gym and thinking of all the other less strenuous things I could procrastinate on but ... I got up, donned my gym kit went to the gym and I am not feelinng great!

AGA: A First or a 2:2?!!!

I bought an air fryer four months ago. Read the instructions. Every morning when I eventually wake up, tell myself that "I shall try it out today". Guess what ....................?

They probably taste lovely.I’ve just come in with my big food shop. More than usual as I’m having visitors. I’m putting off tidying it away as my feet are sore.So reading Gransnet instead.Enjoying the comments.

While procrastinating over the packing I've started the chair covers I've been procrastinating over for the last two months... in the full knowledge that I won't have time to do any more tomorrow so they'll be back in the procrastinating pile when I get back from Scotland in a few weeks. At the rate I'm going I might have a chair finished by next Summer, so about 5 years before I finish all 6.

It is all in the mind!
Today I achieved all I set out and needed to do, no more, no less.
The fact that there are many things which need doing is irrelevant for today.

I have Safeguarding paperwork to do, preparing applications for Disclosures for people approaching eighteen.. I keep putting it off, because until they reach eighteen I cannot send them anyway.
That is my excuse, but I will do it today!

Because you’re just like the rest of us! I haven’t got your workload but there are things I should be doing other than wasting time on here!
Guilty pleasure!

I stripped my bed and put the washing on before I left for work this morning. Dashed in just before 6pm, got changed out of work clothes, unloaded washing machine and was all set to hang the laundry out ( dry night predicted and sunny day tomorrow). Then my son arrived and by the time he left I was ravenous and now it is pitch dark outside. So I have put off hanging out the washing till tomorrow morning which means I will have to get up earlier as I am working again. I am a
also putting off getting fresh bed linen from the utility room and making up the bed - why did do it this morning before I left for work? I know I will end up doing it at bedtime when I really just want to go to sleep!

I had just finished them, (guilt won), when I received a new application! Grrr.

Thing is, the beds look so inviting it was very tempting not to jump in, however, I resisted.

😄😄 I always feel like that after making the bed.

Still not started packing. MrA is already packed!!

You’ll have to get on with it, he might go without you 😂

It happened to my husband when he turned 80:too, and it wasn’t by a small amount. They didn’t care that he hadn’t had a claim since the 1960s. They just lumped it up anyway. I hate insurance companies with a passion! They wouldn’t give you a spot if they had the measles!

Crossstitchfan Fri 20-Sept-24 21:47:07

My last reply was not meant to be on this thread and I have absolutely NO idea how it got here! Apologies and please ignore!

Never do today that which can be done tomorrow is my motto.

I sorted the children's tea - made bread, sliced thick, toasted. Made thin walnut basil pesto. Cannellini on toast, pesto over. Delicious.

It was dinner as well - roasted cauliflower, cannellini (added late in roasting) - served with pesto over, and toast, salad, fruit. Gorgeous.
