Good morning from an overcast Bristol. It was very chilly yesterday, but probably less so today.
FGT2 said they were safe in the Malaga flooding. I hope everything is ok there. I think they were better prepared than Valencia.
I was exhausted by the end of yesterday. The FAB cafe went well with about 25 people attending, plus the AgeUK people, their volunteer and a few church volunteers too. Lots and lots of safeguarding questions asked, fire regulations to be adhered to, etc. apparently, churches don’t need fire alarms or drills. Perhaps Him upstairs does that?
I spent nearly 3 hours on my feet, making coffee, serving (donated) cake. I spent about 10 minutes towards the end sitting with an old chap and his half-French carer who rejoices in the name “Gawain”!
As usual, my very slight accent required explanation; I find it very wearing but understand people’s curiosity. My French name, my accent and my height and blondness causes confusion when people find out I’m not from Germany, France or Holland, but Mauritius!
I gobbled down my lunch and went off to the book group in the other village. Our Jack Reacher book was unanimously voted as ok, but formulaic and extremely improbable.
I then had to go back to church, in completely the opposite direction to empty the dishwasher and store our crockery in the designated cupboard.
Home, and ate a reheated meal, before going to bed early with my hot water bottle.
Today? Quiet, with just tai chi.
Sorry about novella.
