Good Morning Friday 15th November 2024
(41 Posts)Good morning from a dry misty Bristol.
A quiet day for me yesterday.
I had my usual indoor tai chi class. He really does a good work out.
I’ve finished various bits and pieces for the coffee and craft sale on Saturday. I’m debating whether to make cake to serve, depending on how bored I am in the afternoon!
I’m on the last bits of my quilt. It was too bright for my bedroom although it was planned for such, but DGD said she wanted it! Christmas present for her sorted!
I made an appointment with a local, dependable solicitor to organise a PoA. After this last disaster, I’m feeling more distrustful of local solicitors, but I know his boss personally now, so….
Spanish today.
Hope the FGT2s had a successful return to Blighty. Best to everyone.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from s somerset, it should be sunny today, cold too
The full moon has taken charge of my sleeping pattern, again and I was fully awake far too early but I am raring to go tbh, I am felting my shed roof, it seems to be the last chance today before winter rains come and I am hoping my ladder is tall enough. I will make sure it is safely stood on concrete slabs. It is going to be a tricky reach for me to nail the central area. 4`11, I could do with being taller at times. I can do it
Slowly I am getting back to normal and will not be as focused on the allotment after today. The jobs I needed to do there, for winter, will be finished by this afternoon.
I have dust, I saw it along the skirting boards and the house has been neglected. I am going to try and get skirtings done later and I have to get myself in gear to plan three days of food for my vegan visitors. This planning for this food does not come naturally to me these days
Have a good day
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark here. It turned out to be a better day than forecast yesterday and the walk in the woods was lovely. Had a quick sandwich with DD and GS as she was giving him a lift into town to take his driving theory test, which he passed. He can now go ahead and book his driving test. Where do the years go? I came home and did some much needed housework.
School volunteering this afternoon. Weather permitting I shall be able to walk there and back.
Karma you are a human dynamo. I don’t know how you do it!
Have the best day you can folks.
Good morning, too dark to see the weather and I have Vertigo. Again.
I have an appointment with an ENT chap this afternoon so hopefully I can get to the bottom of it. MrOops is taking me anyway so I don’t have to drive. Yesterday was a good day as well.
Have a good day everyone.
Morning all, no idea what the weather is doing
I need to wake up the 9 yr old GS, cook his breakfast, make his packed lunch and get him to school for 8am. Fortunately school is next door but one to my house 👍🏻
Gym this morning, school pick up of 9yr old and The Imp.
DH and I will go to our favourite local Indian restaurant for dinner tonight.
Enjoy your day 🙋♀️
Good morning from a calm and dry Torbay.
Yesterday, a Toads friend and I visited our friend who has been in hospital for seven weeks whilst having treatment (stomach feeds) to help build her strength sufficiently so she can have chemotherapy to shrink a mass in her abdomen. She was remarkably cheerful and so pleased to see us. We were impressed by her courage in the face of this prolonged stay.
Today I shall attend the funeral of our church Musical Director. He had been ill for a long time but continued to delight congregations with his musicianship and humour. He was only 52 but suffered a reaction to an antibiotic which ultimately caused organ failure.
I hope the specialist can help with your Vertigo, Oopsadaisy1
I hope everyone has a good day. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Morning all from a still dark West Oxfordshire.
OH and I will visit a pottery today which is about 15 minutes drive away. We will have lunch there - quiche and cake - and have a look in the shop. On the way home we’ll call in at a garden centre and buy bulbs. Our gardener is coming on Monday so she can plant them all.
OH made an enormous batch of pea and ham soup yesterday. It should be cooled down today so he can freeze it in individual containers.
I hope the FGT2s are home safely.
Have a good day.
Good morning from Cornwall where sun is promised today. Spent yesterday cancelling next week's commitments and appointments as on Monday I need to go to Liverpool to help my blind daughter whose husband is ill. First time I've heard her cry over the phone; she's usually so strong. It will be a demanding ten days but an opportunity to relish the city I miss so much and feel so at home in.
Today my Covid jab, bits of shopping and a library trip.
Good morning from a dull an cloudy Black Country.
A wonderful walk in the sun yesterday with my walking group. Then coffee and a chat in the cafe afterwards.
Then off to Mums for lunch. Then take her to Hairdressers for a cut. She agreed to not have a perm. The result I think makes her look younger. Remains to see how she gets on. She has been having pens since a teenager!
I stayed overnight here as we are off to the Memory cafe this morning.
HopeFGT has arrived home safely
Wishing you all the best day possible.
Good morning all from a grey (yet again) North Leicestershire.
I have to go to the butcher's, Waitrose and M&S this morning but this afternoon I intend to just sit down - I had a dreadful night.
Morning Mick, morning All. Misty start to our corner of Somerset. Fine day forecast.
Yesterday whizzed by, a little shopping and a lot of indoor faffing about plus a very enjoyable phone chat with a friend. We’ve arranged to meet in a couple of weeks, our usual pre Christmas get together. The evening meeting surprised me by being interesting.
TaiChi this afternoon. Our group is being paused at the end of the month, the group leader is over committed. It’s an AgeUK group and we are promised a new leader very soon. Hope so as it’s a friendly bunch. See what January brings.
You must be worried Mizuna, wishing you all well. A sad day ahead ash. Oh heck Oopsadaisy, what a nuisance. Hope the hospital trip proves helpful. Such energy karma. You’ve accomplished such a lot on your allotment.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning, it’s a damp and drab start to the morning here in south Glos.
I had a lovely afternoon at the stitch club, there are only six of us but we all have a good natter, a cuppa and a laugh (and do a bit of needlework!)
It was so good having sunshine yesterday, it definitely lifts my spirits.
Today I must do housework, change the bed etc.
Overnight I cooked a lovely beef stew in the slow cooker so dinner is sorted with plenty to go in the freezer.
Have a lovely day 🌹
God morning all from Glasgow, where it is 11°C. DH says it looks as if it has been raining.
Mizuna, sorry to hear about your SIL
I overdid things yesterday and felt really unwell last night, not haven't felt like that for ages.
After the doctor's, I foolishly went to Home Bargains, instead of going home where I bought too much. There were unusual beers, DH and my children like and I was inundated with requests, after sending photos of the shelves. I could hardly push the trolley, I had forgotten that horrible light headedness, which comes with over exertion. So much so, that I dismissed a visit to TK Maxx!
On arriving home, DH asked me if he could have a word. He had tried to phone the hearing clinic, but could not hear what they were saying!! At last he has admitted defeat. 🤭
The receptionist was laughing loudly, when I called and asked if I could deal with his predicament and saying I was trying to avoid a divorce..
She was so helpful and after listening to how desperate I was, said that she would try and sort an emergency appointment.
I asked her to call back on the landline, as it would be easier for me. She called back on my mobile and I never heard it.😂.
There was much hilarity about the irony of the missed call, given the fact that I had been complaining about DH.
DH now has an appointment on Monday, not at the clinic, he should be going to, but one two towns away. I don't care, just glad he is getting seen!
Oops, I hope you can get some help today.💐
Have a good day folks, whatever your plans.
Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton.
Not such a good morning in our Close; my next-door neighbour of 31 years died suddenly yesterday during a heart operation after a sudden heart attack which came out of the blue. Her husband is distraught and the family are all in shock. Although a Type 1 diabetic she was otherwise fit and well, and she and her husband were always out cycling and walking.
Will not post any more.just now.
Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s just getting light and loos cloudy but dry
So good that you can go to help your daughter mizuna sorry to hear she’s been so upset
We’ve DGD here so it’s the school run first thing and the another volunteering session this morning. November is the busiest month for the volunteers, there’s lots going on but it’ll quieten down soon.
Hope your appointment goes well Oops and you get the necessary help and treatment
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
I’m so sorry bluesapphire. What a shock
.
Ash shockingly sad news of your church musical director. I am so sorry.
Mitzuma I hope your daughter's husband will soon be back to good health.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and damp. Mizuna I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's husband. Kittylester my sympathy. Bad nights are the norm for me. I hope you can get a rest. Ash that's really sad. 52 is far too young.
Yesterday was a frustrating day as I couldn't do things I wanted to. I can't get my curtain down despite trying. My eyesight isn't good enough to loosen the screw in the curtain pole and the other end seems stuck. I'll have to wait for my sil to help. I did tidy the kitchen and hoover and finished a book dd had given me. It wasn't to my taste but I enjoyed it anyway.
Today I need to go to the post office and post a birthday card. Then back for dgs2 and dd to arrive. His soup will be ready for him. This afternoon I might spend in the garden and then reading. Fish and chips tonight. Have a good day all
Good morning from Shropshire where a sunny day is forecast before a week of rain.
We took some more things in for mum’s room yesterday then spent a few hours with her.DH took her to the activity group in the afternoon while I sorted the paperwork. She is quite settled and looking forward to having a hair appointment this afternoon.
We have a day at home🥳I have a long to do list but no rush.
I am sorry your SIL is unwell and your daughter so upset Mizuna.
I hope you get answers at your appointment Oops.
How sad Ash, so young😞
Have the best day you can everyone🦩
Good morning all. No school run for me hoorah!
Yesterday was non stop - again with school runs, DGD here for tea and then the Brownie run. It doesn’t sound much but the traffic around here is getting beyond frustrating. Along with driving in the dark (which I hate), with bright, blinding car lights coming at you, I’m not happy.
Today I must pop into town to get birthday presents for my friend who I’m Seeing on Monday , something for Dh and ds1 whose birthdays are in the same day. Life is getting away from me! 😤.
Lunchtime drinks with our pals at our new venue.
Karma be very careful on that ladder.
Ash how sad that funeral will be. A talented young man.
Mizuna lovely of you to rush to your daughter’s aid. I hope things aren’t too bad there.
Take care all 🍁🌻
I am so sorry BlueSapphire. What a shock for her family and friends.💐
Morning from a grey, chilly S Hants.
Oh Oops how depressing, I hope ENT can help.
Good you can help Mizuna your poor daughter.
We had some unexpected sunshine yesterday, so my walk was most pleasant. I was chasing a hernia referral some of the day, ‘with the surgical team’ apparently.
MrJ on a voluntary drive this morning, Tesco delivering later then I’m getting my hair chopped - in a barbers, interesting.
🦩🦩
Good morning from a fine, still Durham.
I’m on my way out to walk Little Dog, before the professional walkers and their vans arrive at our local place. When we first moved here, it was always deserted and most people didn’t know it existed. Now it’s chaotic there, 5 days a week.
Later, I’m meeting DD2 and DGS2 for a soft play session. I hope her DH arrived safely in the USA.
I’m sorry to read of some tragedies - lives cut short and serious illnesses here. I hope your SInL isn’t too ill Mizuma and soon in the road to recovery.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning all after an overnight frost the sun is breaking through here in the Black country.
No plans other than tidy the bedrooms, if the weather holds will take a walk round the park.
Will make a drink and read everyone's happenings.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.
