Good morning from a damp Bristol. I don’t think we have had a frost - that is to come as we are experiencing our maxima now with the temperatures dropping all day.
Yesterday went ok with all the busyness, but I was very tired by the end.
I want to go shopping today to get odds and ends; I’m making the girls a “lucky dip” Advent calendar! I also need bits and bobs.
In the afternoon, I’ve got a “LaterLife” meeting.
I must be careful of energy levels as I’ve got wall-to-wall stuff on tomorrow and the rest of the week.
It was wonderful to learn of FGT2’s news 🌺🌺🌻. I hope everyone finds a nugget of good news today.

Good morning from s somerset, grim and wet today

A drive for me today, to collect some bags of horse compost, so I can boost a potato patch, ready for spring. They will stay in my car until the next sunny day. 10 bare roots arrived yesterday and they have spent the night in my car, I am going to have to go to the plot to get them into the ground and I will have claggy mud weighing me down, I am not looking forward to that but I have to do it

I really must get on with some cleaning at home, I think I will tackle just one room this afternoon. Knitting too as I am trying to get a lovely warm hat finished for a relative by next week. Fine wool and 000s of stitches. The hat is doubled and then folded again for cosy ears. Like a long tube

Have a good day

Good morning, it’s damp here in south Glos, chilly too.
Yesterday I did very little, my get up and go was decidedly absent so I spent most of the day reading in front of the wood burner. I did enjoy my early dog walk, it was lovely in the sunshine with mist across the fields, but the drizzle set it mid morning and it got progressively wetter as the day went on.
I took the DGCs parcel to the post office, hopefully it’ll get delivered. It cost over £6 for registered delivery etc 🫣, my opinion of the postal service is dim.
Today I have a few bits to do craft-wise, a food shop is coming this morning and the dog has her dog walker this morning.
A pottering sort of day ahead I suspect!
I hope you have a good day 🌹

Good morning from a cold and windy Torbay.

I hadn't heard FGT2’s news but I’m very pleased to know it’s good.

I hope all those travelling arrived safely, especially Mizuna going to Liverpool to help her daughter.

We had a taste of being on stage last night as the previous set had been cleared and ours is about to be built. The young participants struggled to orientate themselves to know stage left and stage right because it is hard (even for some adults) to transfer entrances and exits from rehearsal room to stage.
Back to the theatre this morning to check in props from last week's play, etc.

I hope today gives you a reason to smile. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Ash, look on soop’s page.

Good morning Mick and all from a snowy northwest coast.
A rather unsettled night, probably after eating too much chocolate too soon after my op’. That’ll learn me as they say…

Dsister left yesterday for London after a nice stay and thankfully didn’t have snow. Heated throw and tv for me after that.
Hopefully to music club today. Good to hear FGTs news, I hope Mizunas trip up here is working out and thoughts to all🌺

Good morning from Malta where it’s another beautiful day with a high of 24°C forecast.

Yesterday was so warm I went and did a bit of shopping and took myself for a coffee after having my nails done.

In the afternoon I had a surprise visit from DD3 and the boys who were on good form. They really do breathe life into me, such a dear little pair.

I hadn’t heard the news from FGT either but am so very happy to hear things are looking good. 🥳

I slept rather well thanks to half a tranquilliser so ought to have some energy to clean my place today. Reading of everyone’s busyness makes me feel lazy but I can’t cope with too much going on, it gives me anxiety. We’re all different which is good.

Wishing you all a good day. ☀️

Good morning from Durham, where there is a covering of snow and the temperature feels like -7! I’m not out in the wilds, so it could be much worse in the Durham Dales.
A dog walk this morning, then meeting DD2 in Newcastle for a late lunch around 3pm.
I saw FGT’s post yesterday - good news for himself and her.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a very wet Oxfordshire.

Bathroom is now empty!

Have a good day everyone, I’ll pop over to Soops page, but so pleased to hear FGTs good news.

Good morning all from a snow covered Black country.
Good to read FGT's post on soop's very happy for them both.
Just a quick nip into Iceland to get a few bits then back to begin my new book.
Tablet needs charging so will catch up with everybody's happenings later, have a good day whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

Morning from a wet S Hants, I think it’s beeb raining since about 1 yesterday.
Phones were quite busy yesterday, my daughter and Imogen called in for a soup and cake lunch. Evening was quiz, a great turn out, 50 odd people on a Monday in a small village is good.
Hair cut today, delayed from Friday, sausage meat out of the freezer for stuffing making tomorrow, it’s hand mixed in a washing up bowl..
Buoyant news for FGT and others in soops kitchen.

This has made me laugh! I keep seeing threads from years ago being resurrected into the “Active” list - and here we are today in a thread from the future 😁😁 (see title).

Good morning Michael and all GNs. We have a winter wonderland here where a good covering of snow fell overnight. I have a car somewhere underneath it, but it won’t be going anywhere today and neither will I. The road is like a skating rink. Hopefully the temperature will lift as we go through the day. I shall do some batch cooking for the freezer today and try and catch up with my knitting again.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. It looks like another bright and cold day ahead.

Yesterday’s filming was fun, and interesting to see how things work. The whole process took nearly three hours but the presenter and camera team were very warm and friendly so the time flew by. Let’s hope it is actually aired now. It’s to be part of a small section in a programme about crafts I believe.

I had worked for a couple of hours in the charity shop beforehand so it was early to bed for me, however a car alarm has been going off for hours so I’m like a wet rag this morning.

Nothing more exciting than dental hygienist today I’m afraid.

Sending everyone best wishes for a good day.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 19-Nov-24 07:27:24

Morning everyone, not sure what the weather is doing but it’s chilly.

Yet again woke up at 4.30am. I am popping into Lakeside Shoppers Centre this morning for Christmas gift shopping, DH has some food to locate locally.

Enjoy your day 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from a snowy Cheshire East.
Here to look after our grandchildren so our daughter can protest in London today.
First child gone off to the bus with grandad and the other in bed with daddy not wanting to get up!
Thank goodness for four wheel drives and Agas.

DGD enjoyed her visit to see mum in the granny home.It was lovely to see them together again 🥰DGD chose an outfit for mum to wear today.Mum looks a different person after less than a week. She isn’t totally settled yet which is to be expected.

Today I hope to go into town but will depend on the snow.

Morning Mick, morning All from a damp, chilly corner of Somerset.

The struggle with BT took a couple of hours yesterday. Eventually a techie person in Ireland took over, did some re-setting which he hoped would work. If not I now have a direct link to use which will reduce both time and frustration.

We both decided to go to take our friend for her hairdresser appointment. We rarely go to that area and were pleasantly surprised. A smiling charity shop welcome for our bag and a super coffee shop where we were temped to have lunch, simple, freshly cooked and delicious. A real find. Our friend felt so much better after her haircut, a result all round.

Today it’s routine, grocery delivery, bed changing and dust removal. We don’t rush, an easy enough day.

Another here with a big smile after reading Kitchen news yesterday evening. I’m so pleased for FGT and himself.

My thoughts go to all with worries of any kind. Have the best day you can everyone.

kittylester Tue 19-Nov-24 07:40:47

Good morning all from a white North Leicestershire. I suspect it will all turn to shush soon.

I have a singing lesson today and lots of pootling and faffing. DH has a volunteer drive.

Have the best day possible everyone.

NannyJan53 Tue 19-Nov-24 07:42:28

Good morning from a snow covered Black Country!

Hopefully it was disappear soon, as I am driving over to Mums and we are meeting up with my Aunt, Cousin, Brother and SIL for lunch. We are on a hill here so it is quite dodgy when there is snow on the road.

Have to ring Mums Doctors Surgery bang on 8am. A visit Friday to have her hearing aid tubes changed revealed an infection in her left ear. Took ages to speak to someone yesterday, to be told all appointments gone, and to ring this morning. Even though she said there were not many for today. So how did others manage to secure an appointment for today??

Fantastic news for FGT2 and himself. So happy for them.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

EkwaNimitee Tue 19-Nov-24 07:44:58

Good morning Mick and everyone from an increasingly cloudy Carlisle at -2°C. The moon and Venus were shining away pre-dawn.
A busy house day yesterday and another busy morning today. I haven't read all your posts yet as I have to de-ice the car and get into town shortly, for a blood test and then to deliver my broken denture to the dentist. I'd rather be staying in the warm!
Best wishes to all especially Mr FGT!

Gingster Tue 19-Nov-24 07:48:19

Good morning from a wet and dreary Essex. No snow for us but rain most of the day.

My ds2 just messaged with a video of snow falling in Hertfordshire. The gds have requested Christmas songs while eating breakfast 😂.

Yesterday was a successful shop in Chelmsford with my pal. We got everything on our lists and then went for lunch. The bus journey both ways was great. Bus pass, no parking and not watching the clock. Perfect.

Today some declutterring and housework and then Bridge this afternoon.

So pleased for you both FGT. 🙏
Hope the protest goes well Sago.🤞
Take care everyone, especially those with snow and ice. ❄️

brook2704 Tue 19-Nov-24 07:48:27

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it’s a thick frost here but clear skies and no snow yet although it’s forecast for later
DH and I enjoyed lunch out yesterday in the revamped Victorian market in town and we did a bit of shopping, this afternoon I’ve volunteering session but nothing else planned
Safe travels for all those on the move today especially with the icy conditions
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
