Good morning. Nice to see I'm not the only one up early. Still pitch dark and freezing cold. I hope it's not going to be icy out there.

Ashcombe Thu 28-Nov-24 05:50:59

Good morning from a chilly but dry Torbay.

An early start here as DH returns to France so I’ll drive him to Newton Abbot station. He’ll be returning later next month to spend Christmas here.

In haste - hope all are as well as possible. 🦩💐🦩💧🦩

Good morning from Malta where another warm day is dawning. We had a very small amount of rain yesterday but other parts of the island had quite a lot.

The boys came yesterday afternoon, I love having them here.

Had a long chat with DD2 in Florida. She calls me two or three times a week on her way to work. I do miss her and DGD as it’s over two years since I’ve seen them in person, but I appreciate her efforts to stay in touch.

Not sure what I will do with my day today. I really need to go into the garage and root out my son’s old train set and some toy trucks the boys would enjoy, but as usual I procrastinate as it’s such a daunting task. The garage has become a store room and needs sorting out .

Safe travels to Olddudders, glad to hear he’ll be back with you for Christmas Ash.

Just had a swig of my tea - ugh! forgot the sugar! I can’t drink it without.😖

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning from a cold and dark Oxfordshire.

We had a good day (Bathroom wise) yesterday, all correct fixtures arrived, the loo was temporality fixed so that I don’t have to schlep up the stairs in the night.
Electrician came and did his first fix.
Tiler will be here at 8 am.
I might be counting my chickens, but I’m hopeful that this time next week we will, have a bathroom, it might not be decorated ( only the ceiling and one half wall to do) but it will be a bathroom. Yaaay.

Health wise I continue to wobble about in the mornings, but my MRI is on the 10th so I might get some useful feedback after that. The afternoons are much better.

Safe travels to you both Ash

Hope everyone has a good day.

karmalady Thu 28-Nov-24 06:27:36

Good morning from s somerset, foggy and cold today I hope the sun pops out

A short sawing spell on the plot yesterday and two trips to the tip with heavy bags but home for most of the day. Fire lit and cosy pottering

It will be dry enough to get some outside work done today and I can see me spending a few hours on the plot. I have guttering to build and am hoping this will be my last session using the stepladder.

Have a good day

Hola everyone from somewhere mid Atlantic 🫨 we’re approaching Tenerife early Saturday so terra firma and another trip for the PGs!

It’s been a delightful sailing so far and I’ve certainly made the most of all the classes, presentations, entertainment etc food has been delicious and cocktails 🍹 varied and many😋

I’ve missed all your bizzinesses and pics, it’s surprising how invested we are with each others hopes and fears isn’t it?

My dad is on his way home from a month in Goa which has gone soo smoothly in spite of my worst fears 🥴 - he’s probably planning another jolly for next year😱 - never mind, I shall worry about that another time…

I’ll be back to put a proper shift in next week …😉

kittylester Thu 28-Nov-24 06:56:48

Good morning all. North Leicestershire is only just above freezing but dry and not windy.

Pootling and faffing this morning. This afternoon we are going to the library where the village writing group are doing readings of their work.

Sainsbury's delivery at teatime.

RosesandLilac Thu 28-Nov-24 07:04:48

Good morning, it’s-4°, very frosty here on the hillside in south Glos, it was bitterly cold yesterday too.
I have stitch group this afternoon, looking forward to seeing my friends and I will take the dog out as soon as it’s light.
Yesterday I sat crocheting; I’ve started a big granny square blanket (yes, I know I said no more blankets 🙄), I was given a complete pack of Attic24’s Spring Frost colour-way and it’s beautiful.
I really should go through everything in the freezer sometime, it’s crammed full and I honestly have no idea what I will find in its depths. I wish I hadn’t bought an upright one, it’s nowhere near as easy to see everything. Something to do when DH is out, he will moan about me throwing food out (not that he ever pays for groceries let alone does shopping or cooking 😡)
I hope today goes well for all of you 🌹

GrannyGravy13 Thu 28-Nov-24 07:08:47

Morning all, no idea what the weather is doing as it’s dark.

I have a hygienist appointment at 9.00am, then I am popping to a local retail park to look for a small artificial tree for the playroom.

Have a good day 🙋‍♀️

Kalu Thu 28-Nov-24 07:13:14

Good morning all. Still dark outside in Glasgow -5 deg with light wind.

Thank you for all your good wishes yesterday. I will continue with pain relief and diligently do the necessary exercise. The physio mentioned during my visit that I was very supple for a 74yr old, I could touch my toes and she, much younger couldn’t! I’m just being picky I suppose but would she have liked to hear, you are very stiff for such a young woman?

Good advice Marydoll I looked into settings on my phone and realised, during all the necessary changes of rearranging bank accounts, a closed account hadn’t been updated. 🤯 The admin involved since DH died is never ending.

No plans for today and I will just wait and see what unfolds.

I understand the feeling of having a DD living so far away Bellasnana. DD2 lives in Brisbane and although we are in touch weekly or more, via FaceTime, it’s better than nothing. I miss having cuddles with her.

Best wishes to all for a good day especially those struggling through illness or worries whatever they may be.

Greyduster Thu 28-Nov-24 07:18:30

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the dawn, as Kipling put it, is coming up like thunder! A splendid sunrise. But it’s cold - I will have to defrost the car before I set out for walking group. After our walk today we have our Christmas dinner at a local pub which should be fun.
I had a very long catch up on the phone last night with my old friend in York. I only saw her at the end of October but it seems an age ago.
Kitty I hope you enjoy the writers group offerings. I am still in awe of some of the stuff ours has produced and I’m still working hard to come up to their standard.
Ash. Hope OD has a good uneventful journey home, and hastes him back soon!
Have a good day, folks!

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s just getting light, but as I’m still in bed I can’t see what the weather is doing. I think a cold sunny day is forecast. Probably too cold for me to go out as I can’t yet walk fast enough to keep warm.
DD1 and family are out all day, so DD2 will call in after she’s taken the children to school and nursery. We’re having a take away this evening to save her having to cook. DD1 & her husband should be back late this evening, so the granddaughters may have to get themselves to bed.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Jaxjacky Thu 28-Nov-24 07:27:45

Morning from a very frosty S Hants, I have a move it class at 9:30, later I’ll call in to see Imogen (tutors on strike) and borrow her key to get one for us cut.
Safe journey both Ashcombe.
Sounds promising Oops 🤞

Good morning from Shropshire where it is dry and sun is forecast.

Yesterday was spent in bed as I still felt unwell after a procedure at the hospital on Monday.DGS1 FaceTimed and asked me to go with him to breakfast with Santa at his school next week.Of course I said yes even though it will mean getting up at 4.45 to be there on time🤦🏼‍♀️🎅🏼

Today we will do what we intended to do yesterday. We will go into town to collect mum’s altered trousers then visit her in the care home. She hasn’t been eating very much for a long time but is now apparently eating them out of house and home.

Sounds hopeful re the bathroom Oops🤞🏻

Safe travels to olddudders.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Blossoming Thu 28-Nov-24 07:35:51

Good morning everyone. It’s a chilly one here in Lancashire, there’s a beautiful sunrise and it’s -1°. I haven’t looked out yet but I’m sure there will be a frost.

Stay safe if you’re out and about today, have the best day whatever you’re doing 🍁

NannyJan53 Thu 28-Nov-24 07:37:43

Good morning from a very frosty Black Country.

Walking group walk this morning, then over to Mums to take her food shopping.

RosesandLilac I have an upright freezer and a couple of years ago I bought small magnetic whiteboards which stick to the door. On each one I label the shelf number and write what is on there. Then rub off when the item is taken out, and write on any new additions. Bought the whiteboards from Home Bargains. Hope this idea may help?

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Autumncolours Thu 28-Nov-24 07:38:59

Good morning. Sunny and frosty here in Yorkshire. I have to go to the fast track breast clinic for tests this afternoon so feeling rather nervous but from past experience the staff are all lovely so I’ll be well looked after. Have as good a day as you can everyone. Take care.

brook2704 Thu 28-Nov-24 07:48:51

Good morning everyone from a very cold and frosty Inverness, it’s due to warm up a bit later
Good to hear from your pantglas, sounds like you’re having a fabulous time. Good for your dad too having such an adventurous spirit
I’ve another busy day ahead, a quick volunteering session this morning, a trip to DD2s and then meeting friends this afternoon at a local garden centre for coffee. We’re off tomorrow to Cambridge so I’ve a few more things to squeeze into the case
Hope you’re feeling ok again soon Susan, you do so much for others but need to look after yourself too
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

ginny Thu 28-Nov-24 07:49:00

Good morning from a frosty part of N. Bucks.
Yesterday’s medical visit bought not life chaanging news but certainly with adjustments to make and lots of information to take in.
Today we shall head off to a big warehouse for some shopping and this afternoon I will go to my sewing group. Hopefully the bridge is not flooded now or I’m need to go another way.
Wishing you all a good day, take care.

RosesandLilac Thu 28-Nov-24 07:51:49

NannyJan53 that’s a great idea, thank you! I will definitely do this 😊

Grammaretto Thu 28-Nov-24 07:55:08

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Very cold here. I'll need to scrape the car windscreen and be grateful for no early commutes anymore.
Yoga this morning and a visit from friends who, hopefully will want some ancient furniture which I'm giving away.
Tonight ceilidh dancing after a drink with a friend to celebrate her birthday.

That's good Bellasnanna to be speaking to your faraway DD so frequently.

I hope you make a quick recovery Susan and that your clinic visit isn't too stressful Autumncolours

Wishing everyone safe journeys and happy days please.

Gingster Thu 28-Nov-24 07:55:43

Good morning all and it’s bright and frosty here in Essex.

Yesterday’s dress rehearsal for the U3A concert didn’t go well 😬. Hopefully better on Monday 🙏.

Today I have bowls and then a pedicure and hopefully not going out any more today.
The town has its light switch on tonight, but we won’t go this year. It’s too cold and theres a lot of hanging about. Always very busy. I think DD and little DGD are going 🎄.

GG Apparently Homebase at the Weir are selling Christmas trees at a reduced price as they’re going into administration.😢.
Pants that cruise sounds wonderful. I must book another. 🛳️.

Take care all and I hope the poorlies are on the road to recovery 🙏

monk08 Thu 28-Nov-24 08:00:06

Morning Mick, morning All from a sparkly, frosty corner of Somerset.

Routine accomplished yesterday and some cards written we wandered out late afternoon for bits and pieces, a cuppa was then needed as was the cake accompanying it. Had some concerning news from a friend later. Far too much of it lately.

Sausage roll making this morning, not sure what else other than writing some more cards and the weekly call to our Welsh friend. Her surrounding area was badly flooded at the weekend, her home would have been safe but I know she will be saddened at the local devastation.

Breakfast time now. Have the best day you can everyone.
