Hysteroscopy using spinal block/epidural
Husband wants us to go to live in Portugal
Have anyone ever hesitated to get help at home because of not much reassurance
Welcome dear Kitcheners. I am very happy to be opening the door to my favourite Granspals.
We have a new Aga. The atmosphere is cosy ' The buffet is ready for the sharing of. In the quiet corner we have music to suit all tastes. There are reclining chairs and cosy blankets and if all one wants to do is relax, then please do so.
By the way, it is a dear pal Baggs birthday tomorrow. There is a birthday cake in the larder. There is also plenty of Champagne with which to toast her.
I am off to my bed.
Thank you all for being extra special people.

I hope your buggerations are lessening soop and your Mr is more comfortable after his traumatic ‘work’.
A cold day, feels like -2, with the odd rain spatter, today is the calm before our busier tomorrow, another window opened on the advent calendar, two to go.
We’ll be off, wrapped up, to our local for the meat draw at 5, we’ve not won for ages, but then we only buy two tickets each!
Imogen now has a rash all part of her cold virus confirmed by a pharmacist today, a foray into traffic and shoppers by her and my daughter to see the only local one open.
I’ll call back later, stay warm everyone!
Soop love to you and Mr Soop. Please take good care of yourselves 💕
Soop, may you find the comfiest chair in the quiet corner, with the cosiest blanket. I pop into the quiet corner most evenings and am glad to know that you’re there too.
I look forward to you popping out now and again. Take care of you and Mr Soop,.
Good evening all to a reflective kitchen.
We all have our moments at this time in our lives.
It is inevitable.
I am just back home from a meal out with my friend across the road. It was lovely.
I don’t know how long this will last.
I am 87 , she is 82, so far in reasonable health but both creaking somewhat.
I count my blessings every day and hope others enjoy the same but knowing they don’t.
I wish you all a peaceful night and an easy mind, a gift not given to all.
Good to know Mr Soop is home again safely, I hope you both can rest a while now, happy in each others company
A lovely family day here, a trip to a NT property, Anglesey Abbey where they had Santas reindeer in the gardens. A hot chocolate for the boys and then home to watch The Grinch. DD1 & SiL have gone out for a meal so I’ve just tucked the DGSs up in bed and settled down on the sofa with a mug of tea. Couldn’t have coffee as I can’t really work the coffee machine but I don’t like to admit it to DD 🫣
Tomorrow we’re all going into London for a show so an exciting day ahead
Sending warmest hugs to everyone in the quiet corner, take care all x
A cold wet day here and a busy one for the family. The 9 year old was at her dance and drama lessons this morning and they pit on a show for parents. The 6 year old had swimming and gymnastics lessons. They all went out for an early dinner before the 9 year old went to the pantomime with her friend’s family.
DD2 took me to see my 99 year old godmother, who was quite sprightly if a bit deaf even with her hearing aids in. It was good to see her, I haven’t seen her since the summer. When my hip is less achy I’ll take myself to see her on my own, so I can spend longer with her. The drive is about 25 miles, but with very windy roads.
Tomorrow will be quieter for me, although I might get a walk in, if the weather is ok.
soop having the staples removed from his head must have been very painful for poor mr soop. I hope you find comfort with the others in the quiet room, but please join us in the kitchen when you feel up to it.
Night night everyone.
soop you’ve epitomised the spirit of the kitchen through and we carry on with your quiet presence.watching over us.
Grandchildren last night were up at a reasonable time, ate, then Fin, MrJ and my daughter went to watch a league football game. Imogen and her cold stayed here!
I’m now having a glass of wine, quiche for dinner, so easy.
Oh our dearest soop rest in the quiet corner if you so wish, safe in the knowledge we are here waiting for your return when you feel able 😘🎄🤶🏻
Soop's Kitchen just wouldn't be the same with out you, you are its heart and soul.💕 I hope you and brave MrSoop are comfortable and cosy in each other's company. May the buggerations lessen for both of you.
Another busy day, popped in briefly on DS3 and lovely girlfriend, they are not coming for dinner today as they are both full of this nasty cold/ cough going around. They're trying to back it up before Christmas day. 🤞
Wise words indeed, FGT, I was beginning to feel a bit overwhelmed with recent sad news plus the demands of the season, but I felt greatly supported by the kind words of many Kitchen folk. Greatly appreciated. 🥰
Wishing everyone a peaceful Saturday evening. Roast chicken and jacket potatoes for dinner, followed by Eton Mess.
TOYA
soop, the ethos of your fabulous kitchen means that everyone is here if needed and but are more than happy for you to sit in the quiet corner if you need to. Just pop in every now and again. Anyway, all the best people are in the quiet corner!
Never leave dear Soop, you are loved by us all xx
Dear soop you know how much we all care for you both. Batten down and sit out the storms in your life. 🌷
Soop, stay with us, there`s no way on this earth that you are spoiling anything. Enhance things, more like! By the way, that little boy you had on your knee a few years ago is now halfway through his first year at college, and talking enthusiastically about his new "friend" Maisie.
Hellogirl1 Dear friend, you are an amazing lady. Our hearts go out to you and your family. May you be comforted and surrounded by love.
Mr Soop had staples removed from his scalp. The discomfort made his eyes water! He returns in a couple of weeks to have the healing process accessed. It is going to be a lengthy process.
Yet again, I feel that I should apologise to you lovely lot for neglecting to visit our kitchen. Various "discomforts" (buggerations) continue to weary me. I have no wish to spoil your festive cheer. Hence I am remaining in the quiet corner.
The ferries have been cancelled. The wind and sea are wilder than wild. I've been watching the gulls scooting across the sky without any need to flap their wings. I can imagine their sense of unrestrained freedom.
My love to you all.

. Hope you’re warm now and can sleep.
It’s been a funny old day here. Very wet which didn’t matter as there was plenty to keep me occupied- shame, I didn’t do any of it.
.
Hope all is well with the soops and baggs has had a fab birthday. Goodnight everyone.
Thank you everyone for your kind wishes. Everything went off as well as these things can do. Not a lot of us, around 30, I think. Lynne`s 2 sisters each read a poem, just about holding it together. The celebrant was a lovely lady. It was so cold in the pub where we had the wake, the first thing I did on arriving home was to light the gas fire!
I hope that the Soops, and everyone else with poorly problems, manage to enjoy the lead up to Christmas, as well as the event itself. TOYA
Grannmarie I hope you enjoyed Strike. We liked it, but you need to concentrate ! We are getting our house cleaned this weekend and I am making 5 matching aprons for the girls in the family, plus one for DGD - photos once they are finished.
Sleep tight
‘Evening All’.
Home an hour ago from a lovely evening (us & the small family only, so 6 of us) at a local restaurant. A nice start to the Christmas holidays!
Joke from L’il Miss earlier (7):
“Why does Cinderella not play football?
Because she runs away from the Ball”.
I love silly jokes!
Oh LLFL how frustrating! You’ve certainly been given the runaround. Grr!
Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people! 🥰
Hellogirl, I remembered you and your dear Lynne at Mass this morning. 🕯🕯🕯 I hope today went as well as possible for you, and brought you some comfort. Remember the good times and be gentle with yourself. 💐
Many happy returns, Baggs, thinking of you. 🎂💐
I hope the Soops have had a peaceful day together and enjoyed their Scrabble. 🥰
Have a great time with your wee grandsons, brook, enjoy Cambridge!
YiaYia, nice hair!💇 Great to hear from you, so glad that your DH is a bit better and brighter. Enjoy your family get together.
Grandmabatty, hope you're feeling a bit better. Glad to hear that your wee boy is enjoying the nursery, time flies! Ages and stages, we must go with the flow.
Jaxjacky, enjoy having your grandchildren. I hope Imogen gets over her cold in time for Christmas.
Ladyleftfieldlover, so sorry to hear about your poor service. Do they not realise that a food processor is one of the tools of your trade? Essential equipment! Hope you get sorted soon, you do so much lovely cooking and baking. 🤞
Not long home from our Friday outing of school pick up for the Wee Boy and pizza night with the family.
' It's five more sleeps Gran!' 🎅
We'll see them on Christmas Day.
Settling down on the sofa to watch Strike 📺.
Wishing everyone a peaceful Friday evening and a good night's sleep.
TOYA, NNGB.
Hello kitchen people.
I am almost tearing my hair out. I ordered a new food processor on 8 December. It should have been delivered in 3-5 days. However the courier the shop used has a bad reputation. Hence, I had a message from them on the Tuesday that they had my parcel. Wednesday another message saying there was a delay. On Friday I ‘spoke’ to an online assistant and didn’t get anywhere. We emailed the shop who said to give it another few days. Nothing so on the following Wednesday we spoke to the shop’s customer services. They agreed to ask for the parcel back from the courier and would send us another food processor with a different courier on a 48-hour delivery. That should have been today. We were in all day, but no delivery. I got into the courier’s website and discovered it had been delivered and signed for at lunchtime. I couldn’t check where it had gone because the website didn’t recognise my address and I had been given no tracking numbers. So, we have sent another email to the shop asking them to cancel our order. There is the model I want in Curry’s shop n Oxford so I may be heading off there tomorrow.
If I really was tearing my hair out, I would be bald!
Sorry for the rant.
Thank you Yia apart from your cold, you sound very cheery, your hair will help, I bet it looks lovely, I’m pleased MrYia has the festive spirit 🎄
We have the grandchildren are here and we’ve all got full tums from the chippy, such a pleasure to have them, Imogen has a filthy cold though.
Their Mum is out on a well deserved work (school) ‘do’, I remember those!
