Good morning from Bristol. Mildish again, back to yo-yo temperatures.
I had a full on day yesterday starting with th FAB cafe hosting. Not many, and generally the usual suspects attending. One person I was particularly pleased to see is a chap whose demented wife is in a nursing home and is dreadfully lonely (and shy).
In the early afternoon, I went back to church to help with crafty things for small children (and their parents!) as a little pause during the town’s Christmas street festival. I got home in the early evening, too tired to eat, so just had a bowl of vegetable soup.
Dentist today, painful for my purse and dinner with the family. I really must find time to sew the pyjama bottoms for them on Christmas Eve.
Glad that the Glasgow meet-up went well. Trust that all have @ serene day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning everyone from a rather damp Portsmouth where we are soon to breakfast and disembark but not before I celebrate my birthday with the Captains present which I shall be delighted to share with you 🥂

I’ve missed so much of your doings over the last month but did notice the lovely Glesca Grannies get-together yesterday- smashing pictures ladies!

A long chauffeured journey back to PG Towers awaits and I can’t wait to get back to my teensy kitchen and 🧑‍🍳 (every woman on board Ive said that to has backed away in horror…😱)

May you all have a good day in spite of the weather x

RosesandLilac Thu 05-Dec-24 06:15:31

Good morning from a very wet hillside in south Glos, I slept fitfully largely because of the rain beating on the window.
The dog and I will have a soggy walk first thing with my friend and her dog, definitely wellies today.
I have an appointment after lunch for my heart failure review, then art group.
Take care everyone 🌹

karmalady Thu 05-Dec-24 06:21:45

Good morning from s somerset a bit of sun but not much, followed by rain

We have another windy rainy storm coming, I need to get to the plot, just for an hour or two, to make sure things are secure, as much as can be.

I was outside for much of yesterday, plot based, this is temporary and part of my planned preps for old age, while I can.

I was up early and have blanched parsnip cubes for the freezer and prepped all the veg for the root and lentil soup which I will definitely make today

Have a good day

NannyJan53 Thu 05-Dec-24 06:25:16

Good morning from a very wet Black Country.

Up very early for me. Mum is on my mind, she is all muddled up taking her antibiotics and ear spray for her ear infection. So I am going to have to call her 4 times a day to make sure she is taking the tablets and spraying her ear. Her hearing is much worse, so that make matters worse.

Walking group walk today, one of my favourite routes, with a coffee stop half way

Welcome back to blighty Pantglas hope you had a wonderful cruise.

So pleased your FAB cafe is helping people beat loneliness gM

Lovely photo's of the Glesca GN meet. Don't know who is who, but looks like you had a great time.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 05-Dec-24 06:29:18

Morning all from a still dark West Oxfordshire.

OH and I had a good day in and around Cirencester yesterday. It culminated in a delicious lunch at the very same restaurant where my ‘difficult’ friend had a meltdown a few years ago!

Lots of admin type things today. Emails, ironing, telephone calls, writing Christmas cards, buying petrol - I only have 80 miles worth left in the tank! One of the numerals on my watch has sheered off so I may pop into a jewellers to see if they can fix it. I also need to sort out the remaining Christmas presents.

Have a good day everyone.

Marydoll Thu 05-Dec-24 07:02:45

Good morning all from a damp Glasgow, where it is 8°C.

Happy birthday Pants 🎂🎁🎈🎉 and safe journey home.

A rather tired Gran this morning after an extremely enjoyable outing with an amazing group of ladies, whom I now count as friends.
I was delighted to see Kalu managed to make it. The bonus prize, I had a chat with the DH of one of the group. His wife says that he is the twin of Mr MD..

The Duracell bunny is arriving early today. Her daddy has a worldwide conference call, but won't make it back home in time for the start of it, so is joining in here.
We shall need to be on our best behaviour!
The pancake batter is already made, I knew I wouldn't be up to it this morning.

The icing on the cake is , we also have the school run this afternoon, therefore we will be graced by a visit from my beloved Dollie. Yesterday, I picked up a Terry's Orange, hot chocolate bombe as an after school treat for her.
Her nose is a little out of joint, after having our undivided attention for seven years.

Best wishes to all. Have a pleasant day folks.

cornergran Thu 05-Dec-24 07:04:56

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks damp, don’t think it’s actually raining although there are local river flood warnings again.

Pleased with yesterdays efforts to create some order here. The cards are completed, hooray. Cooking today and some dust removal, changing our bed seems to have created a veritable storm. One of our teenagers still has given not a clue about a gift, with next week taken over by visitors it all feels uncomfortably tight.

Welcome home pantglas and happy birthday. You did well yesterday grandmattie, it does all sound tiring though as do your endeavours karmalady. Good to know yesterdays Glesca Grannies had a happy time. I’m very fond of Cirencester ladylfl, miss a wander round there.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Bonnybanko Thu 05-Dec-24 07:06:51

Good morning all, that’s me lost my post🤬🤬 I’m up and well again it’s very dark and wet here on the east coast of Fife.
Family and friends have been very busy.

Keep well and safe my friends

Greyduster Thu 05-Dec-24 07:06:58

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a still dark South Yorkshire where it looks rather damp at the moment. If it’s still wet at nine I might think twice about walking today. Had a really nice lunch yesterday with five of my neighbours at the same pub as we went to last year. I dozed off watching tv at seven o’clock and missed a phone call from a friend. By the time I woke up it was too late to return it! I shall have to catch up with her today.
Have the best day you can folks.

Susan56 Thu 05-Dec-24 07:08:17

Good morning from Shropshire where we have had heavy rain overnight but it is dry now.

We didn’t get to Chirk as DH didn’t wake up until midday but then full of energy cleaned behind the fridge, freezer and washing machine. What a revelation😱

Today DD1 and I are going to visit mum and take her out for afternoon tea.Hoping she will be happy to come with us as yesterday she didn’t want to leave the home to go to the drs.

Safe onward journey Pantglas and happy birthday🥳🍾🥂

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Jaxjacky Thu 05-Dec-24 07:18:55

Morning from a damp S Hants, we’ve had rain. A very Happy Birthday Pantglas 🎂🥂🥳 and welcome home.
Busy, busy gMattie I hope you have at least one gentler day looming.
Cards written and stamped yesterday, other domestic chores completed. We met a friend for a drink down the road, the pub was selling a lager very cheap prior to a new brand coming in £2 a pint! Today I’ve my stretch and balance class first thing and ear clear out this afternoon.
🦩🦩

GrannyGravy13 Thu 05-Dec-24 07:21:17

Morning all from a dark S E Essex.

I gave got a headache after a disturbed night, which is an inconvenience as I gave a busy day!

Cleaning fairies are here at 8.30am, DD and I are going to Lakeside shopping centre for our last Christmas bits and bobs.

The 8yr old is here later for his weekly sleepover.

Happy birthday Pantglas 🎂🥂🎁 safe journey honey 🙋‍♀️

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 05-Dec-24 07:21:21

Good morning. Everyone from a wet Oxfordshire.
Welcome back Pantglas and a very Happy Birthday to you 🎂🎉🥂
So pleased that the Glenda Grannies had a good lunch.
MzOops and her fellow travellers were told that the overnight train to Paris from Berlin was cancelled, so they were all put into a luxury hotel for the night and had dinner all ‘free’. She is on the train now and will be back home on Saturday. I wonder if the U.K. railways would have done the same? Hmmmm Let me think…..

Last day of the bathroom doings today (apart from the bathroom cabinet, which the electrician will fit tomorrow) so lots of cleaning to do when they’ve gone.
Goodness knows when the decorator will be here, it seems the Company forgot…..

Have a good day everyone, hugs for any poorly Grans.

hollysteers Thu 05-Dec-24 07:25:25

Good morning Mick and all from a cold and damp northwest coast.
Doc thought my stomach pain was just a re settling of everything after op’ although on the other side, it’s improving now.
Then on to fine lunchtime recital, flute and piano, a good programme. On a superficial note, the flautist wore lovely glittering shoes with a diamond like flower effect on the front.

I had lunch in town, read my kindle, then a manicure and a merry red polish for Christmas. A little shopping, bumping into friends etc., which added up to a nice day.

Watched Meeting the Moggs in the evening, but fell asleep and missed a video call from best friend angling for a night out before Christmas. Not sure if I’m up for what she has in mind and might try to steer her to a quieter night.

Off soon for colour and blow dry, which all helps to make me feel more myself after being in hospital.
Nice photos Bonnybanko and happy birthday Pantglas💐

brook2704 Thu 05-Dec-24 07:37:53

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still dark and looks a bit wet and windy
A very Happy Birthday Pantglas and welcome home, I imagine your cruise has been wonderful
A had a really lovely enjoyable day yesterday at the Glasgow meet up, it’s always great to see everyone. Today I’ve a bit of food shopping to do and then we’re picking up DGD from school for a sleepover tonight
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 05-Dec-24 07:42:04

BlueSapphire Thu 05-Dec-24 08:01:38

Good morning everyone from a quite wet Northampton, sods law, I am off to the hairdresser for a cut and colour this morning!

A morning of catching up with housework yesterday, then got the tree and decorations in from the garage, and spent a happy afternoon putting it all in place while listening to Christmas carols.

May go to the shops after the hairdresser, but will see what the weather is like.

Happy birthday Pantglas - glad you enjoyed your cruise; 4 months till I step on board the other lovely ship, Discovery!

Have a lovely day everyone.

BlueSapphire Thu 05-Dec-24 08:03:01

Thought I'd show you my Christmas tree!

Gingster Thu 05-Dec-24 08:05:03

Good morning all and it’s very wet outside but not raining at the moment.

We had our last choir session until after the New Year last night and it was very festive with nibbles and chat at the end. The very talented choir master told us he’s booked Abbey Road for a recording session next July. Such excitement.!

Today I have bowls this morning and later Dd and DGD will be here after school. A quick tea and then Brownies for a film evening. The children have so many lovely things at this time of year. Tomorrow is DD’s birthday and her and DGD are going to Marsh Farm for the day. I don’t know who is more excited.🥳.

Good luck with Lakeside GG. 🎄.

I’m glad the glesga grannies had a great meet up. I missed seeing the photos. Where can I find them?

Take care all 🙏

Grandmabatty Thu 05-Dec-24 08:05:18

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and wet. Susan fingers crossed that your mum will fancy afternoon tea. Marydoll enjoy your day with your girls.
Yesterday I had a lovely time spent with the Glasgow grans. They are such a nice group of ladies. I've put the photos here.
Today I'll potter about until afternoon when I'm going to dgs1's Nativity. I'm looking forward to it. Have a good day all.

Grandmabatty Thu 05-Dec-24 08:06:37

Happy birthday to Pantglas. The photos have disappeared.

harrigran Thu 05-Dec-24 08:07:21

Good morning from a damp NE, where the wind has blown over all the fences around the holes in the pavement. It was a very noisy night.
SIL and I went to the concert in Durham, GD and her rock band were amazing as were all the other musicians and the choir. The warm mince pies and drinks in the interval were a lovely festive touch.
Today is a tidying up day after the workmen and maybe finish writing cards.
Have a good day.

GrannyIvy Thu 05-Dec-24 08:09:31

Good morning from a wet Cambridgeshire. Yesterday morning my DD2 fell in the shower and had only the little 5 year with her. Thankfully we live only 10 minutes in the car from each other so I dashed over to sort little monkey out and take him to school. We then spent the morning in our local A & E, nothing broken but she is very shaken and bruised. It ended up a hectic day one way or another with sorting the GC etc.

Today I have my usual Thursday morning Pilates class. I then need to make the Christmas sausages rolls and do other Christmas baking for the freezer plus checking in on DD2 and another friend who lives alone and is unwell.

Hope everyone has a good day and best wishes to those struggling 💐
