Good morning Mick and everyone from grey, damp and currently still Carlisle. Worse is to come I believe...
I hope the skein of geese that have just flown over heading north have heard the forecast and are not going far. Probably as far as the bird reserve at Caerlaverock on the other side of the Solway I guess. Somewhere I keep meaning to visit, it's just that the drive isn't enticing at this time of year but I should dearly like to see the over-wintering swans, down from Iceland.
Yesterday was quite busy, trying to find a plumber,(and succeeding), making a cake and trying not to eat it all at once (it's going in the freezer) and catching up on reading etc etc.
Today I must face the fact that Christmas is imminent, cards to write, presents to wrap. This is where I really miss DH, such a brilliant parcel wrapper whilst my efforts are, well...rubbish!
The rest of the day may well be spent reducing my growing pile of unread books, and I've bought yet another one, a praised biography of Thomas Cromwell, inspired by watching The Mirror and the Light. Generally I'm fed up of hearing about the Tudors but I've loved Hilary Mantel's trilogy.
I'm glad you Glesca Grannies had a good time, great photo.
Have a pleasant day all of you.
