He’s going to be disappointed!

Every week I do a meal plan, I ask my husband to get involved but he always says “it’s fine, whatever you decide”.

The plan is posted on the fridge and never looked at by my husband.

As we are hopefully moving home in the NY and I’m running the freezers and store cupboards down so I am having to be a bit more inventive.

I am currently making a lentil and spinach dhal, he is convinced I’m preparing his favourite butter chicken.

I think I may need to manage expectations and break it to him gently before we sit down at 7pm.

Thanks Sago. Am trying to convert OH to vegetarianism, he likes spicy food and this looks within my capabilities - just 😀

It’s really easy and forgiving!
I serve with a dollop of yoghurt with some toasted almonds on top and some naan.

It sounds so easy when you say it.
I really might have a go at it, though.

Easy and forgiving is right up my street.

I think you’re probably a really good cook Sago I didn’t used to be bad at it but find recently I just can’t be bothered most of the time.
If on my own I think I’d live on soup and toasted cheese sarnies.

Beans on toast is easy and forgiving 😃

Oh I know!
One of my favourite comfort foods, beans.

My DH would probably eat this, but not if I said it was a lentil & spinach dahl. If I called it a spicy bean casserole & served it with some sourdough, he'd probably gobble it up. "Lentil" "spinach" & "dahl" are all trigger words for him.
Sounds a lovely recipe Sago.

I have a four week plan! Week 1 and 3 are identical but 2&4 have some variations. I order meat from the butcher every 4 weeks so I need to keep to my plan.
However the meals get juggled around if our plans don’t suit cooking a certain meal that day.
I could not cope with deciding what to eat each day.
