Happy Christmas Mick and All from the Brighton area.
Last evening our โalmost โ daughter in law introduced us to a Columbian Christmas Eve ritual. It was just wonderful. She had put a crib scene on the top of a cupboard with twinkling lights. We turned off all the lights and one by one we each of us lit a tea light and made a wish. Then we all gathered together in a family hug. The 3 boys were then allowed to open one gift each. It was magical.โญ๏ธ
Good morning and Merry Christmas from Cambridgeshire ๐โญ๏ธ๐
Today DD2 and the two little ones will be here with us. They are very excited and lots of games lined up to play.
Hope everyone has a very good day x
Good morning and a very Happy Christmas to everyone!โญ๐๐
It's a dull grey morning here at DD's in East Northants, but the tree lights will be on soon as we sit round and exchange presents. Seven of us.here, DS and DD-out-law, the two DGDs, DD and DS-in-law, and me, plus two dogs.
We had a lovely time yesterday with DD-out-law 's Swedish Christmas Eve dinner, becoming a family tradition.
Just crept out of the bedroom and found a nice fat stocking outside the bedroom door; after years of doing stockings for children, they do one for me now!
Will creep down in a minute and make a cup of tea.
Have a lovely day everyone.
Good morning Mick and everyone on this lovely thread
Foggy here in West Oxfordshire
I read but rarely post but just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Christmas.
And I forgot a Swedish Christmas greeting "God Jul!" ๐๐
Morning Mick, morning All. A very happy Christmas everyone.
Grey out there, smiles in here. A very enjoyable Christmas part one yesterday will be completed by part two today with elder son and the teenagers. Iโll be barred from the kitchen and have nothing better to do than relax. I do twitch while much appreciating the thought. Weโll eat late today as our granddaughter is one of the many working on this day, her carer shift began at 6, sheโll only be happy when she sure all her clients needs are met.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Another occasional poster here.
Merry Christmas Mick and all, I am currently in bed at our daughters listening to our grandchildren 10 and 4 open their stockings on Mummy and Daddyโs bed.
Itโs joyous!
Wishing you all peace and love.
Happy Christmas Mick and thank you for this friendly thread ๐๐๐
DD is asleep, her boys will return here this afternoon and all will stay till weekend (yes I know they live five minutes downy the same road as us, ๐คฃ)
Itโs a quiet day today before the rest of our children and my sister plus their families arrive tomorrow.
Peace and joy to you all ๐๐
Morning all and Happy Christmas from West Oxfordshire.
Elder son put photos on the family WhatsApp group yesterday of our granddaughter skiing in France. She looked very competent.
Younger son and our daughter are here and looking forward to a good day. Iโll be putting the oven on soon!

Hope everyone has the best day they can doing whatever makes you happy
Thinking especially of everyone whoโs finding today difficult, take care all ๐
A very happy Christmas to all. A quiet day for us although weโll have video calls with all the children and grandchildren.
DD1 phoned last evening and reminded us how, when we kept goats many years ago, each Christmas Eve before they went to bed,we used to go down to the goat shed and tell them that,if they went into the shed very very quietly, they would see the 2 goats we had kneeling in homage to the baby Jesus.
What they didnโt realise was the goats get into a kneeling position when they get from a lying down position to standing up.
A memory for her of nearly 40 years ago.
I'm a lurker here, but I wanted to join today to say thank you to Mick, and all of the others, for this lovely gentle thread.
The Viking branch of the family tree are here and the Welsh , so a multi lingual God Jul, Nadolig .. you get the picture..
Greetings and Merry Christmas from a rather grey and overcast East Kent.
I will watch some mad souls running into the sea later.
.
Good morning everyone from a still dark part of West Yorkshire.
It is lovely to read all your greetings and plans for the day. I hope you all have a wonderful time.
For the first time in 24 years MrLP and I are on our own today. The children are both with their other half's families - only fair, they were all here last year! We will have our day with them next week - the turkey is in the freezer!
So a quiet day for us today, no stress or cooking up a storm - that will come next Monday!
We are now sitting snugly in bed with a cuppa, having opened our stockings and allowed the cat to chase the wrapping paper over the bed!
Thank you to Mick for opening this thread every morning. I don't post very much, but I always read along, and enjoy/sympathise with all your adventures.
Merry Christmas and heartfelt wishes to you all for 2025.
Take care, xxx
Merry Christmas everyone and a special hug for those who will find this find Christmas difficult,
After forty seven years of being in charge of the proceedings, I have been forced to delegate and it does not sit well with me. I am a control freak.๐
Of course nothing will meet my exacting standards.
Have a joyful day folks. X
Good morning Michael12, a quiet Christmas Day for me too. Presents already unwrapped, breakfast done. Bought myself some fresh salmon for lunch rather than a ready meal. Still only 8.30am, going to be a long day. Grown up children will ring later I expect. Enjoy the day. Merry Christmas Everyone x
Wishing everyone a happy and peaceful Christmas Day xx
