Anything planned yet for 2025 ?

DH is 80 in August so we have to plan how to celebrate - 1 party for everyone or 2 (1 for family, 1 for friends)

We have booked a few out door theatre shows but haven't thought about anything else.

Well I don’t think anyone is brave to go against government guidelines and travel where you are advised not to Nana8
I was in Russia in the early 90 s and have been to the Hermitage I found it a very interesting country with extremely hospitable people but no way would I attempt to go back there now
Back to the original question No I have no plans at all I will just plod on and see what the world throws at me

I have very mundane long list of plans for 2025 which will keep me busy.
Hopefully, I can squeeze a couple of holidays in too.

They are both 80 years old. Barmy. One is an ex head mistress who has travelled the world and I believe this is one of the only places she hasn’t visited.

We are lucky enough to have a few holidays booked
Victoria Falls and S. Africa next month.
Isle of Man with friends in April, Shropshire with family in May, S. Wales at the end of June and then on to Cornwall with friends.
Probably some day trips too but nothing organised yet.

We have a few trips planned. One a tour of Sri Lanka and another a car rally in Scotland. Other than that just lots of the usual, classes and various volunteer activities. Oh and lovely long lunches out with friends.

We have visited the Hermitage- fascinating,! However............ now is not the time to go.

Like last year, our plans include selling our house and moving to a smaller home near DC. But buyers are very thin on the ground. Our village is awash with unsold houses, despite big price cuts.

More cheerfully, we have booked a short trip to the bulb fields in March and plans are in the early stages for a family holiday in August, probably the last chance for one, as DGD leaves school and heads off to university in the Autumn.

Staying alive!

No big plans, just little ones like having new glasses, buying a new chest of drawers for my bedroom, sorting out my Rosacea.
But hopefully some holiday plans later.

It was my dh s 70th in December, and our ac bought us a long weekend in Barcelona in May , joint Christmas and birthday present . I’d like to go to Thailand again as one of my oldest friends lives there , that would probably be March or April .
Now that we’re retired we’re not big on planning ahead with holidays .
We’d like to see family in Cornwall and friends in Staffordshire.
Also my mum is 90 in November , so I’ll plan a party .

I’m off to Australia next month for a couple of weeks. It will be my brother’s 70th. OH and I have a cruise booked for July through France and Switzerland. In September we have a holiday booked in Torquay. On my birthday in April I will be doing a day school on Mosaic and another day school in May on Indian quilting. I have a few other day schools lined up in Oxford and at the V&A. Maybe my daughter and I will have another jaunt? We went to Helsinki last year.

Small plans only at the moment as my DH is waiting for heart surgery. We are planning some home improvements including top to toe redecoration of our house - we've finally given in and accepted that we can no longer do it ourselves, which is a great shame as I've always loved wallpapering and painting.

It is our wedding anniversary in June and I've already booked tickets for the Royal Albert Hall - a tribute to Rodgers & Hammerstein with the John Wilson Orchestra, which will be glorious.

I'm 80 in October but won't be having a big party. We are considering an autumn break but it will be in the UK as DH's various medical problems (and of course our great age) mean that insurance to travel abroad is prohibitive.

There's a fascinating exhibition coming up at Tate Britain exploring the rivalry between Turner and Constable in the 250th anniversary year of their births, so that is a definite for me.

So - small things but always lots to look forward to.

We live from scan to scan, every 12 weeks for Himself at the Christie and fit in what we can around treatments when necessary. We hope (🤞) to be going to our little apartment in Málaga at the end of February. We’ve got travel insurance (£1,500 p.a. Just for Himself) and we hope very much to be able to make great use of it this year, all being well. Lots of short stays (say 10 days) maybe once a month if allowed rather than the 4/5 week breaks we used to enjoy pre-diagnosis. We are so lucky at present to be able to (guardedly) look forward but we do so now in a very measured way. We used to plan ahead with gay abandon - we would rack & stack holidays since retirement 10 years ago - but life sometimes has a way of reining you in.

Thinking of down sizing (again). Going to see a semi new build next week. Love our house so it will have to tick all the boxes.
DH and I both have big birthdays this year, as well as two ACs and grandson so looking forward to celebrating.

No foreign holidays for me again. Been there, done them. The Hermitage was indeed well worth it. So was the Louvre. and ofcourse , the Sistine chapel. I am in awe of these Masters. I am not into beach holidays. Btw, did you hear that recently , an eagle-eyed art specialist discovered another hidden figure in the Sistine Chapel.!!!

I’m off to Handle’s Messiah today at the RCH.
I’m planning to just do more things that make me happy this year. So I’m starting with a “Hallelujah”!

Skiing in January and February. Desert Southwest of USA in April. Australia in July for my husband's work (I'll go with). No further plans yet, until November and December mini breaks.

After 13 years we recently sold mi Casa in Spain and although we enjoyed other holidays in many different places during that time, we now feel the world truly is our oyster, all dependent on good health of course.

Also our Ruby wedding is in May and my 70th in December so plans are afoot to splash out in a way we might not otherwise have done.
