Meghan’s launching a new lifestyle show on Netflix.

I won’t be watching as we don’t have Netflix.

The cake she was putting the finishing touches to looked delicious.

Anniebach Fri 03-Jan-25 11:49:43

Not bashing, speaking the truth,

Ilovedogs22 Fri 03-Jan-25 12:01:21

Leave Harry & Megan alone please haters! You known nothing about then do you?? Apart from the rubbish & bile that you read in the biased, hateful blooming tabloids! 🤔

Anniebach Fri 03-Jan-25 12:07:34

Not true, I know what they have both said., they both lie

TillyTrotter Fri 03-Jan-25 12:09:38

I noticed you posted the question “is it ironic” twice 🙂 eazybee
so I’ll reply
- not in the least ironic.
We know a lot about this couple but we do not know the in-out money balancing sheets of their household accounts.
The outgoings must be beyond what I can imagine and I don’t think you’ll be privy to that?

Cossy Fri 03-Jan-25 12:10:23

MissAdventure

Didn't you all work with the help and cooperation of your husbands?
I'm pretty sure being part of a couple means you support each other, financially and otherwise.

You may as well say Katherine looks great "with the help of William's money and connections"

It’s just another excuse to “Meghan bash”

I think some of their decisions have been very ill thought and rather foolish BUT I felt it was quite sad that the King chose to “blank them” in his annual Christmas speech and I think Prince Andrew gets less severe criticism than his nephew.

Good luck to them both, I might take a cc peek at the series

Anniebach Fri 03-Jan-25 12:13:57

The king should accept all the lies they have told, should accept
being accused of being a racist ? and this is a just one of their
lies

MissInterpreted Fri 03-Jan-25 12:18:07

MissAdventure

No idea, because although I'm here, I'm not interested in any of them, particularly.

I just cant stand the thought of a whole series, with people glued to their TVs and criticising.

It's my own fault for getting involved. Should keep my nose out, so now I'm going to.

That's how I feel too. I couldn't give two hoots about any of the RF, but I do find it a bit ironic that many GNetters simply can't resist any opportunity to have a go at H&M.

Kate1949 Fri 03-Jan-25 12:19:38

They've just shown a clip of this on TV. It looked like some rich people in opulent surroundings gushing and fawning over each other whilst advising the rest of us how to do tasks we have been doing for years.

Anniebach Fri 03-Jan-25 12:19:53

Why not criticise liars?

Harry is the Kings son and the future King’s brother.

He has made many mistakes, and actually only the Royal family actually know the truth, not us.

I said nothing about accepting anything.

Prince Andrew has, and still is, lying his way through life and being “funded” for it.

Harry is clearly damaged, I’m not blaming anyone for this.

Ironic isn’t it, that Harry wouldn’t even be in position had it not been for Mrs Wallace!

paddyann54 Fri 03-Jan-25 12:26:34

You must be very close friends with the royals of you KNOW it’s all lies.Me? I think there’s probably more than a grain of truth in it otherwise why would they be so incensed as to cut all ties?
The other stuff that has come to light the houses owned by the rf that are substandard, the high rents charged to charities that THEY are patrons of …even charging for lifeboats to leave from their stations and the millions of rent for Ambulances !
That’s ALL true so why disbelieve the things family have said Clearly there is a very low moral standard in the royal family who take a huge amount from the publication d then take more by these charges etc
Time they were all sacked !

Anniebach Fri 03-Jan-25 12:34:55

Truth ?
Megan - my passport was taken off me ! she flew to America

Megan - my baby will not be given a title because of colour of
its skin

Megan - we were married three days before our wedding ceremony

And more

No, MissAdventure not all of us did. I am sure I am by no means unique in having no co-operation or financial support from my husband.

Even when I was earning more than he did, I still did all the collar.

The ones who did enjoy mutual support are the lucky ones.

Couldn’t agree more. Lairs the pair of them. I’ve just seen a clip on tv, it’s vomit inducing. God knows why anyone would watch that utter crap.

Lathyrus3 Fri 03-Jan-25 12:40:01

Well to return to the original post ( instead of the usual boring diversion into the Royal Family) I have to admit I was totally taken in by Nigellas “lifestyle” cookery and desperately wished I could cook well enough to hold those lovely dinner parties and soirées and bake chocolate brownies for friends who came to pour out their woes upon my comforting shoulders.

Then of course it all turned out to be a mirage.

I guess the Meghan programme is much of the same but I’m cured now.

Anyway we were much more the Osbournes really😬

Choccy1 Fri 03-Jan-25 13:49:48

She thought she was something special at the start, and now she isn’t. Had she stayed she could have been part of something special, so she inflicts her frou frou , pointless wisdom on anyone who’ll pay!

Anniebach Fri 03-Jan-25 13:54:22

Some on GransNet admire her , not me

Absolutely!

eazybee Fri 03-Jan-25 15:07:00

The royal family have not cut all ties. Harry and Meghan were invited to various state occasions but Meghan was too terrified to come without protection. Harry was offered accommodation but chose to stay elsewhere.

And we, the public, know a great deal about them from their own words, as communicated through their interviews, articles, videos, films and books, plus artless 'confidences' given to close friends who then relate them to the press. And surprisingly, are not sued.
And as Paddyann believed passionately in Nicola Sturgeon I don't regard her judgement as infallible.

AGAA4 Fri 03-Jan-25 15:12:39

I do disagree with all the money the crown takes in rents. It seems immoral to me.
As for Meghan and baking cakes I think there are many people who can put a good cake together but I wish her luck if it's what she wants to do.

It’s not what she wants to do though is it?

Global stardom is difficult to hang on to even if you manage to achieve it in the first place.

She had it but let it go.

Luckygirl3 Fri 03-Jan-25 15:49:56

I am intrigued as to how some people claim to know she (and he) is telling lies. None of us really know the reality, any more than we know what is truly behind anyone else's family rifts.

It was ironic, though that Meghan chose to make a Victoria sponge cake 😂 Did she realise?
Named after Queen Victoria who must be Meghan's 4xGreat-Grandmama-in-law.

My favourite, I shall dream about that cake.

NonGrannyMoll Fri 03-Jan-25 15:54:14

She's hard-headed and realistic, which we now admire in women, don't we? She discovered that her presence in the Royal Family wasn't going to change anything, so she and her husband left for a country where her skills will be of more use to her (and possibly him too, but don't hold your breath). Why all the fuss? Just another woman trying to fit into a mad world.

Anniebach Fri 03-Jan-25 15:55:21

She did have her passport taken off her

They did get married three days before their wedding ceremony

There was dancing in the streets in S.A. when they married as
there was when. Mandela wa# freed from jail

Her baby. would not receive a title because of skin colour
