She's hard-headed and realistic, which we now admire in women, don't we? She discovered that her presence in the Royal Family wasn't going to change anything, so she and her husband left for a country where her skills will be of more use to her (and possibly him too, but don't hold your breath). Why all the fuss? Just another woman trying to fit into a mad world.

I've seen lots of trailers and photographs online. Has she never heard of hygiene while cooking? (all that long straggly hair hanging over the food)

I think it’s sad to describe her hair as straggly but then my hair is sadly thinning badly so I am touchy about hair.

I was only quoting you to say I watch tv bakers and chefs like a hawk and a pet hate is how cooks ‘wash’ their hands in between handling different foods but a mature past GBBO baker wiped her nose on the back of her hand then swiftly whisked her short locks out of the way as she was demonstrating her recipe! I was stunned and showed a friend in case my eyes deceived me but she noticed straight away too. How the video was released I do not know!

I do disagree with all the money the crown takes in rents. It seems immoral to me.
As for Meghan and baking cakes I think there are many people who can put a good cake together but I wish her luck if it's what she wants to do.

You do know that the revenues from the Crown Estate go direct to the Government with a lesser proportion refunded to the Crown Estate in exchange for carrying out certain duties.

Your post sounds as if you think it goes to individuals.

Or perhaps you mean property rental as a whole is immoral?

They've just shown a clip of this on TV. It looked like some rich people in opulent surroundings gushing and fawning over each other whilst advising the rest of us how to do tasks we have been doing for years.

I never watch cooking programmes so if that's what it is I won't be watching. The cake looks nice and makes me want cake but my new years resolution is less cake so that's not good for me.

Meghan is modelling herself on Nigella, obviously.
Nigella has never described herself as a trained chef but preferred the flirtatious, family fun approach rather than real cooking.
She hasn't done too badly so maybe Megs won't either.

Nigella's brownie recipe is yummy abd very expensive.
