Good morning all and it’s frosty but not too bad here in Essex.

A lovely sunny day yesterday and that night sky was a treat to behold.

We met our Friday friends and helped one couple out of their car and across the icy carpark. They’re a poorly couple and had both fallen the previous day. I don’t know how they manage together but it’s very hard for them. So sad !

Not sure what’s on today , hopefully not much in this weather. I might just pop to a local Tesco for a chicken - don’t need much else.

Cornergran I hope today is a better one for you. ‘Mama said there’d be days like this’ 🎶.

Yesterday I pottered about but was mainly lazy as my stomach was still giving me trouble. Last night I had a really bad night's sleep because of the pains in my feet, an occasional issue with diabetes.
Today will be another quiet day at home. If the ice thaws, I'll take a trip to Aldi for bread and milk before the forecasted snow tomorrow. I have housework which needs doing although I lack all inclination. I,too, have a fridge which needs cleared out. Have a good day all

Good morning everyone from an overcast and frosty Northampton, not as much frost as yesterday.
Was another day indoors yesterday, with a brief foray to the garage freezer to put the bean chillies in; will need.to venture there again today to find a hotpot to thaw out overnight in the fridge - tomorrow's dinner sorted. Also need to freeze some leftover curry from yesterday.
Started my new book club read yesterday afternoon - made a list of this year's books to pin up on the kitchen notice-board.

Thinking of wrapping up well and hopping on the bus to M&S Food while it's still dry, as there's a few things I need.

Another white frost and even though the heating has been on fora couple of hours the house feels cold. Layers of clothes will obviously be essential while I decide whether I need anything from the village or can just live out of the freezer for a little while. Hope everyone stays safe and warm and that at least we don’t have power cuts. I can cope with anything but that.

Feeling quite down at the moment which is unusual for me.
A bad ending to last year, , family illness, my diagnosis, death of my brother and now DD3 discovered yesterday that the house she was o excited to be buy has fallen through. The seller has decided not to move after all. Plus , today would have been my brothers birthday.
Sorry to be a misery guts it is unusual for me. I I’ll give myself a stern talking to and sort myself out.

Cousin’s 70th party tonight so yesterday into town and bought champagne and flowers. M&S out of sequin studded tights my DD wore over Christmas so I am going to mend some black lacey tights instead.

Good morning all. Another glorious day on the Angus coast and sunrise was one minute earlier today than yesterday. At last we're moving in the right direction. Yesterday I noticed the noses of my many daffodils poking through the frozen earth. How do they do that! They won't bloom until the end of March/early April but what a beacon of hope to remember through 'the dark days'. I haven't been round to the far end of the garden for a while where the snowdrops should be appearing - maybe I'll do that later, as this is forecast to be the last sunny day for a few days.
Nothing to else to report from here - I'm just enjoying the peace of the quiet days before tai chi classes resume next week, I'm also thinking of so many of you on here with health mountains to climb, and also of my DGS who is mountaineering with such cheerful, absolute confidence in his consultant. You are all so very brave x

Good morning from a flipping freezing North Yorkshire. I glimpsed 3 brass monkeys passing by the window!! Awake before 5am and flipping cramp again. I am just sick of starting every day in pain from one thing and another!! It was so bitterly cold, but I could not lie comfortably in bed so got up and had my dressing gown and wrapped round in a blanket, but frozen toes and hands!So tucked up I always mark up any thing that is happening from the local paper and then I have gone through it and made a note on the calendar so I wont forget things. My old address book has been looking very tatty with lots of out of date numbers or friends who have sadly died. Its one where you write the name and number on a stiff piece of card and then put it all in alphabetical order. So this morning I got my tweezers out to get the paper from the hole. I t was easier than trying to do it with my fingers. So have thrown out of date stuff away and plan to use it , not for addresses but email and passwords. It can go in the drawer and will not be visible but at the moment I have stuff written in columns and backs of diarys. so hoping for that to go well and tidy things up I need to go out for one or two bits but mostly my Yorkshire Post. It keeps on going up, but I read all the news, give the sporting paper to an elderly friend who enjoys it . Then as with the radio times, this paper does not come under the heading of books that must never be written in, or corners folded over etc. I collect all the local news referring to this weekend and send a little synopsis to the womens group members and it is pleasing when I see them the following week and they say how pleased they were not to missed something. So it will be a very careful trip out to the newsagents and the market and then home and try to keep warm. It is such a raw day today. There was a trip from Pickering to Whitby on the train and I thought it might be good to go on it, but the weather is too bad.So hoping to get the jobs done and then will be happy to stay indoors. Those wretched borrowers must still be behind the skirting boards! Now my good hairbrush has gone missing and the tin opener that is the good one is nowhere to be seen. Right now I really feel like throwing everything up into the air, screaming Aaah and going back to bed. Never mind just seen something cheery. Two squirrels running along the fence and down on the grass. Lovely to read all your messages and hope you all keep safe and warm

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s frosty. We are not going anywhere. I’ve got a gastric bug so I’m staying home warm and rested. Bananas, white toast, plain boiled potatoes again today for me and when I speak to my stepfather today I shall be cancelling our Sunday lunch meet up.

I’m going to move all the decorations from their display places and put them on the dining room table ready to put away on Monday this morning.
Afterwards I’ll get ready to go to a panto with my daughter.

Good morning from West Sussex. It is grey out there and slightly warmer.

After a reasonably productive day on Thursday, I slept most of yesterday. DH says I must go to the doctor. I was supposed to have a blood test for anaemia months ago but it’s such a faff getting an appointment.

RosesandLilac, that’s worrying about your kidney problem.
FGT, hope you recover quickly. I dread getting one of these bugs. Thoughts with Marydoll and Grandmabatty, hope you will both be fully recovered soon.

Morning all from a cold dreich Kent. Everything still covered in thick frost. Kalu DH and I watched the Six Triple Eight film the other night. What a story and all true. The environment the women worked in was awful, they were treated so badly. We laughed at their arrival in ‘Glasgow’ - even allowing for the redevelopment of the docks, it didn’t look anything like Glasgow! Funny when you see that the city stands in for American cities often in movies!
Not planning anything exciting today, freezer still full so no shopping necessary. DH will be glued to the telly while I tackle the Times (London not Evening! ) crossword.

Son queried my heating being on , how do you convince a smart middle aged man that thermostats work better than turning heating on and off ?
Said son is celebrating his 56th birthday today , we are going to the pub for lunch , it’s just round the corner so no driving involved
