Irrational dislikes of people you don’t know..

Perhaps I shouldn’t introduce this topic, as it could get nasty. I was thinking how I have irrational dislikes of people I see on television whom I don’t know at all. Helen Skelton, Sarah Moore (from Money for Nothing), Meghan used-to-be Markle, Luke Littler. I know nothing about any of these people, but I can’t stand them.

Of course the upside of this is that I have irrational likes as well.

Yes. He even thanked the deer for helping him achieve his ambition. His excuse when the video came to light? It was a long time ago. Yuk.

Wow! I have been fooled, I honestly thought Mr Spencer was one of the good guy's. This thread has been a bit of an eye- opener for
us & probably a number of up the up their own bottom celebrities too.😬

You can see the video online although I'm sure you won't want to. It doesn't show the actual shooting but that awful man thanking the poor creature and saying it had been his ambition for a long, long time to shoot a deer.

The Beckhams.

😜

Babs03 Sun 05-Jan-25 12:56:25

I can’t watch a film with Cruise in it.

Me too can't do Mary Berry. Rick Stein, Davina McCall, Felicity Kendal and Hugh Edwards ( always thought there was something odd about him).
There must be some Psychology explanation behind this dislike, of people you have never met, or is it just first impressions?

I too love Bob Mortimer , just reminds me of a slightly naughty schoolboy, no malice just fun

Babs03 Sun 05-Jan-25 13:27:06

Bob is always a delight 👍

Yes, lovely Bob, you can see his nature in his eyes. We love you Bob, just don't turn out to be a tosser.😊

The Scottish little woman who is over excitable and does travel programmes.

My Dad loves Susan Calman!
Her travel programmes are ones that actually hold his attention these days 🙂

Giles Brandreth, Stephen fry,The Reverend Richard Coles for starters. There are plenty more! And of course, plenty that are completely rational dislikes!

Primrose53 Sun 05-Jan-25 14:36:49

Michael Barrymore, David Walliams, Philip Schofield, Jo Brand, Angela Rayner, Martin Clunes.

BlueBelle Sun 05-Jan-25 14:42:29

But it’s this adoration of celebrities who really aren’t that nice
I don’t like Jonathan Ross either that’s another one to add to the list 😬

Nonnato2 Sun 05-Jan-25 14:47:23

Gary lineker Kay Burley Beth Rigby Angela Raynor

Nonnato2 Sun 05-Jan-25 14:51:13

Oh I forgot the loathsome James O Brian

TerriBull Sun 05-Jan-25 14:53:20

I don't like Jonathan Ross, when I watched his show ages and ages ago, he often seemed to interrupt guests to talk about one of his umpteen animals or what was going on in his household, or make wince making remarks to female guests. I wasn't keen on the late Michael Parkinson on that score I found some of his questioning of female guests sexist at times, especially to a very young Charlotte Church. If I were to watch a chat show, which I don't these days, it would be Graham Norton.

Babs03 Sun 05-Jan-25 15:01:51

I don’t like Ross either, and wasn’t fond of Parky. When it comes to interviews I preferred the likes of David Frost, Ludovic Kennedy, or Robin Day, these days interviewers are all lightweights. But for showbiz interviews I quite liked Wogan, come to that I liked Wogan whatever he did.

WellsRose Sun 05-Jan-25 15:11:59

I thought the comment from Jeremy Clarkson against Meghan was awful, misogynistic and perverted.

Oldwoman70 Sun 05-Jan-25 15:15:10

Sotty TerriBull but I can't stand Graham Norton - ever since he delivered the breaking news that one of the Bee Gees had died and then said "his brothers were standing around the bed singing Staying Alive". Dispicable and disrespectful

Mollygo Sun 05-Jan-25 15:15:27

Any of those on the repair shop, or maybe it’s just the presentation.
Jon Richardson, Jimmy Carr, Frank Skinner, Graham Norton.
Babs03
I liked Wogan on anything too.

Kate1949 Sun 05-Jan-25 15:17:11

I'm the same Bluebelle. My husband said to me the other day 'Is there anyone you DO like?' blush

Squiffy Sun 05-Jan-25 15:19:34

I agree with so many of the above, plus tv programme presenters Owain Wyn Evans (so irritating!) and Jasmin Harman (equally as irritating!)!

Grandyma Sun 05-Jan-25 15:29:11

I’ve come to the conclusion that I really dislike a lot of people 🤔 Elaine Paige, Dawn French, Paul Martin (Flog It!) Davina McCall, Dom Littlewood, Donald Trump, Nigel Farage, Jimmy Carr, James Cordon, Gregg Wallace (never have), Holly Willoughby, Lenny Henry, Lesley Garrett, Julia Roberts, Ed Sheeran

HowVeryDareYou2 Sun 05-Jan-25 15:53:24

Denise Van Outen
Denise Welch and ALL of the Loose Women (I had the misfortune to see part of one programme once)
Gregg Wallace
Davina McCall
Holly Willoughby
Felicity Kendall

I dislike most people who are on, or have been on, tv
