Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in brackley this morning.
Today a nice easy day indoors with household tasks.
Plus I shall be watching cycling on TV as well .
Health wise OK.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Bristol, the wind is already up but it’s still dry atm.
Yesterday’s coffee and chat went well. There was a lot of people, some dropping in, most staying for the whole 90 minutes. It’s nice to see people enjoying themselves and chatting. One or two are very deaf, so it can be a bit problematic but generally great.
The afternoon was quiet. New trousers were delivered. I tried them on and, to my utter astonishment, they were too long! I’m 5’10” so it is very, very unusual. I shall shorten them by about 3” rather than sending them back.
Church this morning, then an empty. Trousers to shorten; a good nap as I have been awake for over 2 hours already.
Have a blessed Sunday and prayers for the sad, sick and anxious.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Morning Mick, morning All. I can hear the wind howling, our corner of Somerset is forecast a very wet and windy day.

Enjoyed pottering in the garden yesterday morning and a spur of the moment bus ride to the sea front. Wonderful to see so many families well wrapped up enjoying the sunshine and ignoring a cold wind.

An indoor day today Mr C will be back to a jigsaw while I faff about and read my book.

Thank you for reminding about Iris grandmattie, apologies, I’d forgotten. She’s a brave soul.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

Good morning, it’s dry here on my hillside in south Glos, heavy rain and strong winds forecast for later, oh joy 😵‍💫
The dog and I had a very muddy walk yesterday, we slithered through the woods right down into the bottom then she decided that she wanted to go back the way we’d come so a long haul all the way back home. At least she slept for several hours afterwards.
Our afternoon walk was in lovely sunshine, a chilly wind but so good to feel the sun.
I must see if I can change the battery in my pedometer, it would be interesting to see just how many steps I do.
I didn’t get a drawing done yesterday, I faffed around doing bits and bobs before some more embroidery.
Wishing you a lovely day 🌹

Good morning from s somerset, very wet, dull and windy all day today

Yesterday was glorious and I spent every minute out in the warm spring sunshine. It was lovely not having to wrap up warm. I was busy and my garden was the beneficiary. For those few hours it was spring magic

I finally got rid of three kilmarnock willows in very large pots, just before all the leaves would have made it more difficult. I had to use a saw on the compacted roots. The recycling bin for hardcore and soil is not meant for little people, and I had to lift a very heavy container to chest height and then balance it on the edge before I could upend it. That was hard to do

I tidied a bit in my house after lunch and have nearly finished another sock. Another DD has a birthday soon. I think I will stay in today and am glad I went on an exercise walk yesterday, I saw male cyclists out but not for me while there are muddy patches on the lanes

I have no set plans for today, I did sort and box all my seeds yesterday and may sow some more, I will make soup from stored squash and will finish this sock. Spinning too, I like short sessions, to save my hands. Basically an RnR day as I have a car trip tomorrow

Have a good day

Good morning from Torbay where the weather is similar to yours, grandMattie.

Yesterday, I was pleased to be in Lidl just after 8.00am with very few other customers so I didn’t have to manoeuvre my small trolley around anyone. Once I was home, I managed to unload the car just one bag at a time with none being overly heavy to carry up the five steps and I had one hand free to help support myself using the handrail. Boring details but I expect this resonates with others here.

Later, after a brief rest and armed with my walking poles, I was encouraged by the sunshine to venture out again! Just as I reached the Downs, I felt something plop on my head which, initially, I thought my have been caused by a passing seagull….. but no, it was a light shower! Phew! Luckily, I wasn’t far from our favourite pub where I had a coffee, kindly brought to me by one of the staff.

Home via local shops where I met a lady who recognised me but I couldn’t recall her at all. After we'd walked and chatted for a while, my poor old brain (click, click, whirr) finally made the connection and a flood of information came back to me! Frustrating but part of life lately.

Sorry, I’m rambling! I am due to play the piano at church again for the 9.30 service today then domesticity beckons with the weather forecast for later not being conducive to being out.

A blessed Sunday to you all! 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

Good morning from Malta where we are promised a sunny day with a high of 18°C which is much the same as yesterday.

I was at the post office by 7.15 yesterday (it opens at 7.30) to find three others already waiting. However, it didn’t take long to retrieve my registered letter and I was with the boys before 8am so son in law could get off to work.

We had a lovely day, I took them to the petting farm as they both love to see the animals. I had taken their lunch with us in small insulated containers so they sat and ate their lentil pasta whilst being watched by several curious peacocks.

We then walked through the gardens to the swings, a long walk for their little legs but they are troopers, we never take a pushchair any more, and they had a good time playing on the equipment before the long walk retracing our steps to the car.

They both took a nap and their daddy was home in the afternoon to take over.

I went home, settled down to watch the tennis which was the British No.1 Jack Draper v Andrey Rublev, I promptly fell asleep on the sofa and missed most of it! Sadly, Draper lost but only just.

DGD Arabella had a busy birthday yesterday playing in two softball tournaments, they have such lovely uniforms and it’s great to see the good sportsmanship between the two teams, DD2 sends videos and photos.

They had a meal out in the evening then home for a beautiful cake made by DD3. Wish I could post a picture.

Ash I would love to hear you play the piano in church, what a lovely talent to have.

Glad your coffee morning was a success grandMattue. As to your trousers, thank goodness you are such a good seamstress and can take them up yourself. Who on earth has legs that long I wonder?!

I slept like a log last night, I was exhausted. Will get up shortly and ready myself for Mass after which the weekly chat with my pal in Leicester. I must then catch up on some much neglected housework.

I really need to start sorting out my garage before the weather becomes unbearably hot but I shall need a man with a van to take away a lot of things that nobody will want like old video rapes. Why I hung on to them when I moved is anyones’s guess.

Tomorrow littlest goes into hospital for an overnight stay to have a slight birth defect fixed. Poor little chap, I’ll be glad when it’s all over but I will be looking after his brother as usual.

Sorry for the long epistle. Here endeth the lesson!😂

Wishing you all a happy Sunday.☀️

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s bright and dry here, but rain and strong winds are forecast for later.
grandmabatty queues in our pharmacy are a recent thing, due to a replacement pharmacist, and reduced opening hours!
I pottered around yesterday, cleared out a couple of drawers and filled a bin liner with old socks and underwear to go to the tip. I’ll try and carry on with the clearing out today.
DD1 and family called in unexpectedly yesterday afternoon which was good. The 10 year old disappeared upstairs with her iPad and went to sleep on the spare bed, after a busy half term!
DD2 will call in today if she has time.
Take care in the wind and rain today, have the best day possible everyone.

brook2704 Sun 23-Feb-25 07:44:04

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s windy with grey skies
Hoping all goes well for your DGS Bellas, he’ll be well looked after ❤️
I enjoyed being outside in the garden yesterday but today we’ve rain forecast so I’ll probably go into town, I’ve a M&S order to return and one to collect. But first I’ve a video call with DS to look forward to, it’ll be good to catch up on all his news
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Georgesgran Sun 23-Feb-25 07:44:24

Good morning from Durham. Yesterday’s sunny day and garden plans were lost for me when my neighbours decided to light a garden bonfire. It burned for hours and the strong wind blew all the thick white smoke in my direction - I could barely see my own fence at times. DD2’s laundry had to be dried indoors yet again.
Today, she and I are taking DD2 to a local farm, as he is desperate to see some animals. I’ll just meet them there and if the weather deteriorates, we’ll end up in the big play barn. DD2 bumped her car yesterday, minor damage, but her fault and she’s very cross with herself, a first, since she started driving at 16.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a bright but sunny Essex coast. It makes a change to see the yellow ball in the sky 🌞.
DH is off to rugby with his grandsons this morning.
I'm starting to pack my case to go and see DD1 on Wednesday. I haven't seen them since October so it's something I'm so looking forward to.
DGD's 2 and 4 are in a dance show all next week, the old gang show. DGD2 is a Ranger and DGD4 is a cub.
I hope you all have a peaceful Sunday xx

BlueSapphire Sun 23-Feb-25 07:48:36

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, but rain and high winds forecast later; thank goodness I don't need to go out today.

A pleasant shopping trip yesterday, getting everything I needed. Coffee in M&S, and a browse round Next where I bought some perfume to take on my holiday in April.

An afternoon of rugby when I got home with another nail-biting finish to the England match; enjoyed watching our Saints boys again, with Fin Smith's fantastic kick from the half way line.
After dinner I then watched the first episode of 'The White Lotus' which I had recorded earlier in the week - hooked, and looking forward to seeing what happens to this group of mostly awful hotel guests. It's never good.....

No plans for today apart from watching rugby again (France v Italy) this afternoon.
Perhaps a bacon butty for a late breakfast.

Have a pleasant Sunday everyone.

RosieandherMaw Sun 23-Feb-25 07:48:44

Good morning from N Bucks where it is already sunny but the forecast for the rest of the day is not so good with strong winds and (guess what) more rain.
I have no plans for the day- a dog walk while it is fine, some rugby on tv in the afternoon, and some reading perhaps
Hope to hear from the Birmingham family back from their travels last night - skiing in N Italy for the parents, GD and eldest GS and Lapland for GS2.
There will be some laundry going on in that house today methinks! Don’t you just remember those days at the end of a holiday ?smile
Wishing you a peaceful and pleasant Sunday and special thoughts for Bellasnanna’s little GS.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 23-Feb-25 07:52:37

Morning everyone, it’s bright here this morning.

I have been reading under the duvet since 5am, nothing planned for the day.

Resting on sofa with elevated legs, I am getting cabin fever

Happy Sunday 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from a sunny W Kent a walk today after usual chat to DB. Yesterday was busy, after farm shop visit we visited DS and family. GD1 had been away on school trip for A level course, lots of pictures to be viewed.
Best wishes

Good morning all from a dry but windy North Leicestershire.

Not a lot happening here today. Forest are on the tv so lunch will be served around 5pm. Other than that, the papers and a bit of tv.

Have the best day possible everyone.

A quick good morning from La Palma(a Canary Island we haven’t visited before), Going for breakfast shortly and then on an excursion around the island.

We had a glorious day yesterday, the highlight being afternoon tea in the Orchid Garden. The garden and house adjoining it has always been owned by an English family and such care has been taken with the garden. A wealth of different coloured orchids, cacti and trees. Wish I could post some photos to share with you. We had dinner in the Italian restaurant which, although very good,we don’t like as much as the Supper Club or Nepaleseones.

Hope all have a restful day free from worries and health issues.

GrannySomerset Sun 23-Feb-25 08:04:00

DS and DDiL coming from London to take me out to an early birthday lunch so am looking forward to seeing them and catching up with their busy lives. Not seen them since just before Christmas so that will be lovely.

Grey and windy this morning after a lovely sunny day yesterday; no settled spring weather yet but March winds look very likely. The garden is full of bulbs showing buds but reluctant to flower yet, but something to look forward to.

monk08 Sun 23-Feb-25 08:04:31

Good morning all from a dry but windy Black country.
Family coming for dinner today it will be good to see the boys, younger one on antibiotics again he has another kidney infection.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone whatever your plans, still no Mizuna hope things are ok and she is just taking a break.☀️.

Blossoming Sun 23-Feb-25 08:06:15

Good morning from grey rainy Lancashire. It was a beautiful sunny Saturday and the steam railway museum was running trains. I couldn’t go out of course so I waved from the window. Another quiet day for me, have a peaceful Sunday everyone x

EkwaNimitee Sun 23-Feb-25 08:12:56

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle.
We had a pretty rosy pink sky at dawn..I thought 'red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning'. That fits with the forecast, we have a yellow warning for wind and rain. I'm glad I'm not living right on the coast any more, up to force 10 forecast for the Irish Sea and Malin.

Yesterday I went out very early to Sainsbury's to get items Tesco don't supply and to top up the car. Then it was home for a second breakfast and a phone chat with my sister.
In the afternoon I was out planting some newish purchases in the garden. It was sunny and like spring! For the first time in a long time, I wasn't all bundled up in clothes. A shame it's not going to last.

Today will be indoors, catching up with the papers and magazines and continuing my new book. It's a Hilary Mantel I discovered in a second hand bookshop in Bristol, all about a medium and her sidekick. Rather out of my comfort zone but quite interesting so far and what a master of language HM is.

I hope you all enjoy your Sunday.

whywhywhy Sun 23-Feb-25 08:15:16

Good Morning from the midland. It’s sunny but windy here. No granddaughters last night as one of them had a stomach bug. I’m disappointed. I’m estranged from their mum, my daughter. So I never know what to believe. A brisk walk later. DH doing tea. I’m making a sweater for myself. Hope you all have a wonderful day. 🤗🤗

Greyduster Sun 23-Feb-25 08:15:42

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Yesterday’s sun has deserted us again and it’s cooler out. GS and I had a lovely lunch yesterday and a walk that had to be cut short as my nephew and his wife were calling in with their adorable nearly three year old Grandson. He (and his grandad) played happily with a box of GS’s wooden trains that I’d sent DS up into the loft to find. Then he discovered my piano and sat on my knee for twenty minutes until my leg started to go to sleep!
Nothing much on the cards today - what there is will be weather dependent.
Ash glad you managed your shopping yesterday, but please be careful.
Bellasnana fingers crossed for your littlest tomorrow.
Have the best day you can, folks.
