Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it is 2°C.
Yesterday was exhausting to say the least!
After dropping my car off, I decided to walk along to Asda, because the area is full of dealerships and very congested and I knew DH would get stressed, trying to park. By the time I got there, I was shattered,
However, on entering I saw a huge SALE sign, which revived me immediately. 🤣
One knitted dress, one summer dress, a casual sweater for DH and rwo bras later, for the princely sum of £25 , restored my energy levels.🤣
In the hope of my car being worked on immediately, I suggested going for a coffee. Surprisingly DH agreed. Much to my surprise, he offered to drive me to TKMaxx to kill time. Oh sweet joy! I bought the most beautiful lamp, while ignoring DH"s sights. 🤣
My phone rang, it was DD demanding to know where we were and to tell me the roofers were on site. I then saw a missed call from the roofing company. They wanted to know where I was, as there was a problem. I explained that I was stuck in Linwoid. DH was not amused, when I suggested he drop me at the dealership ( remember, there is no parking) and go home to deal with the problem.
When I got home, the roofers had left to source a part. The phone rang I was resting my eyes and DH was forced to answer it.
Of course, he could not hear and when I suggested he put it on speaker phone, he somehow manged to cut the caller off. 😡
I called back and asked what the problem was. The roofer was Polish and said, that he didn't know the word in English for the missing part, but was driving round builders' merchants, trying to source it. He kept saying, Darling, don't you worry, I will fix it^, which he did. Phew!!
Later I had to go back out for my session, with the medical students. I got talking (no surprise there) to and elderly couple, who it turned out, lived two cul de sacs away. ike us, they have lived here for over thirty years, but we have never seen each other before. What is even more unusual, my surgery no longer take patients from here, because it is in a different town from the surgery. Like me, they have been with the surgery, since they were born.
I had a great time with the students, two of whom remembered me from previously. They kindly said that they were delighted to meet me again.
This was a cardiology session, it was really interesting. They were using stethoscopes to listen to my pulse rate in various areas. One asked if I wanted to listen to my carotid artery. It was the strangest feeling and quite unsettling. The tutor came in and was quite surprised at this. After quizzing them, he asked if he could listen. Oh you have an irregular pulse and I can detect some arrhythmia. First I had heard of it! 😱
I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon and as I was leaving, the receptionist commented that I looked so much better than last week!!
I need to get up move my car. Hopefully the scaffolding will come down today, but that means that I cannot put out the washing on this glorious day.
Llfl, I hope your DH's op goes well, and that you get a quick result for your xray, Kalu,
Corner, my pain consultant was a horrible man and I eventually refused to see him. Yours must have gone to the same school as mine.
I wish you all, the beast of days, I have decided to have a me day. I am tired of running after everyone else!
Have a great day.
