Any update Luckygirl3? Did you ring them?
Any Rain Anywhere, Or Are We In A 1976 Timewarp?
Are we growing accustomed to the heatwave?
My DD gave me a beautiful bouquet of flowers today from a florist in the nearby city. I know she bought them yesterday. They looked fine in their wrapping.
When I got them home, 4 of them instantly shed their petals, 2 broke off at the stem and one's stem was mouldy and wet throughout the whole length and I had to chuck it. Of course I was being gently with them.
It has made me really cross as I know where it was bought and it is not cheap there.
The same used to happen for my late OH - several times he was sold duff flowers - they saw him coming as he knew nothing about them.
Any update Luckygirl3? Did you ring them?
This happened to be once flowers were half dead when they arrived and I didn't want to upset my friend that had bought the flowers. But florist wouldn't let me complain because I didn't buy the flowers, not fair I don't think
Have used a couple of the flower companies who do letterbox deliveries quite a few times, but now they seem nothing like as good as they used to be. Last 2/3 were poor. Recent delivery had 3 broken stems, and more greenery than in any description picture.
Think they are resting on their laurels, and assuming repeat business, from folk making quick convenient orders, and the companies are making less effort.
Have reverted to Interflora & M&S.
Had a pronged row with a company few years back & eventually got my money back. Gave up sending flowers then found Bloom & Wild. So far no problems so will send my DDiL flowers again soon.

I celebrate one Mothering Sunday the week before the day with one son, and another the week after the day with the other! Flowers and lunch - with cards to open on the day itself.
I got so fed up with overful restaurants and hassled staff on the actual day - and usually pushing to get you out within two hours to use the table again.
The food often suffered because of the pressure.
So decided about a decade ago to use the weekend before and the one after and it works very well. Both sons and their families attend both times and we all have a great time.

My daughter sent a large bouquet from Prestige Flowers (an on line company). They didn’t look too fresh when delivered by Royal Mail but by day 2 the roses had to be thrown out.
My other daughters flowers were must better but arrived a day late - not a problem to me but she was furious.
These florists charge high prices especially on ‘special’ days - they should provide a much better product/service.
It’s the mother’s day effect. Demand >supply. Like sub-standard Mother’s Day lunch. Give/get Mother’s Day treats a week or two early. Or complain
My Granddaughter in OZ sends Bloom and Wild flowers and pot plants. The flowers look quite sorry for themselves when they arrive . Following instructions, after a day they have picked up and look beautiful for quite a long time.
Several years ago , a local florist left an arrangement on our doorstep in November. You can imagine what it was like when we arrived home several days later..
I’m not a fan of M&S flowers I sent a friend a bouquet with a bottle of champagne for a special birthday and their delivery driver delivered them to the wrong house. Took over a week to get the problem sorted. This was the final straw after a few other problems with their flowers either as the sender or the recipient. I usually use Bunches and my family have always been thrilled with the flowers and their prices are similar to M&S on the larger bouq
definitely let them knowe about it ..show them pictures, the price of flowers goes up so much for mothers day.
How disappointing for you. On 19th Jan my DH gave me a couple of bunches from Lidl. Then I had a family birthday celebration on 26th January (my birthday is 30th). I was given a beautiful florist’s bouquet &. freebie bunch of daffodils from Waitrose. By the time of my birthday on 30th the bouquet was definitely wilting & the Lidl flowers & daffodils were still going strong. A week later the daffodils were out of the running too. I eventually gave up on the Lidl flowers after 5 weeks! It was incredible how they just kept going!
My M & S ones from a DD at the weekend were a bit disappointing. They were full blown roses, apart from two stems of wild roses, one of which is withering. Some of the outer petals of the main roses were browning round the edges, and are now beginning to fall. The flowers could hardly be seen for the obscuring dozen stems of decorative leaves. I would much prefer to have flowers before they are fully open.
Suspect if the flowers came from Netherlands as many do, it may be another Brexit “benefit” of longer transit times etc. Same with fruit which has also markedly deteriorated.
I have not contacted the florist. DD did tell me who it was but I am not 100% sure I have got the name right and do not want to double-check with her as I think she would be upset - and knowing her, buy me another bunch! I do not want her put to that expense. She was very proud of having found this shop and thought it was wonderful!
I had a very similar problem with funeral flowers that I’d ordered.
When I saw them on the day I was horrified and ashamed in equal measure.
I took a photo and sent it to them with an email complaining and they refunded me straight away.
It left me wondering whether they used up all their older blooms on funeral flowers ordered on line as they don’t expect people to inspect them on the day.
My Mothering Sunday flowers arrived today. Had to bin the greenery , roses losing petals but lilies in bud so some good news. Sent from Prestige so I know not to order from them in the future.
Luckily have a good enough relationship with my son to tell him which I know for many would be a no go which is why they get away with it of course.
M&S has my vote. My son in Jersey sent miniature roses growing in a container. They arrived on the Saturday in a huge box to protect them and are absolutely perfect. And I can put them in the garden later on, I feel sure.
My birthday is just after Valentine’s Day and one year the DSs had clubbed together and sent me a lovely bunch of flowers via Interflora. Unfortunately it was stuffed with their left over red roses, now well past their best. I should have gone to the florists and complained but didn’t. My Bloom & Wild ‘flat pack’ flowers on Mother’s Day this year are lovely.
When you get a bouquet, some of the stems can become air locked so cutting them underwater will help them last longer. 🙂
The large bouquet ordered by my daughter for Mother’s Day arrived looking in a very sorry state. Day 2 and most of the roses were dead.
My other daughter’s flowers didn’t arrive on Sunday. She was fuming although they were lovely upon delivery on Monday.
These florists should be taken to task. We are being let down by poor goods and bad customer service. If we don’t complain they get away with it! 😡
My bouquet from Prestige were half dead on delivery! So disappointing with people paying good money.
The flowers these days are not as good the prices are so expensive it is such a shame when good money is spent on them
I haven’t found any delivered bouquets to be any good, not ever!
So if I have to order something I send flowering plants in a pretty pot or trough through M &S, which have always been good so far.
The worst flowers I've ever had delivered always have come from M&S. The latest bouquet was from my sister and usually I just say thank you very much they're lovely as I know they cost a lot and I'm grateful people have thought to send them. On this last occasion I had only just opened the box when my sister phoned me and I just told her that a couple of the roses were actually dead, the rest were drooping with withered leaves and browned petals and I sent her photos. She forwarded the photos to M&S and did get a refund.
This has happened the last twice my son has brought me flowers from Tesco, unwrap and all the petals fall off. Can’t tell him to stop buying though I love flowers
