There seems to be a need for it!

Post here what you are doing, if your day is boring.

I, and some others, will still find it interesting.

It’s our wedding anniversary today and hubby won’t make it to the next if he doesn’t cut out the sarcasm!!!!! I’m going to sort out my wool stash. Going out for a meal later so this is one of my least boring days but it’s a great thread. Take care everyone. I’m sure men are from another blooming planet!!!!

Eating a cheese and cucumber sandwich.

Thrilling 😂

Yesterday was a boring day. The excitement of deciding which bin two old mats belonged in was as good as it got.
Today was Covid jab day. Lots of excited pensioners queueing up at 08.30, so that’s a slight improvement.

On the computer doing amendments for a book. Only 281 pages to go.

AGAA4 Sat 12-Apr-25 13:26:24

Washing done. Had a walk and met a couple of dogs. Made lunch and watched an episode of Wisting.
Boring but I like this sort of day.

Cleaning out the cats’ litter tray.

Hope your day is as good as mine! grin

Just sprayed front door lock with WD40. I have been thinking about doing this as it has been sticking since the end of January.
It took me this long to remember where WD40 was.
Boring but no longer struggle to lock /unlock door.

We took a couple of bags of DH's suits, hardly worn, but now he is retired he doesn't need 10 suits anymore, to the charity shop.
He dropped me home and I've made some scones and now watching football.
When it's finished I will probably read.

That’s sounds like my perfect day because I would love a cat. 🐱

I am doing all the tasks I avoided in order to sit out in the garden. Some days the repetitiveness is irritating, other days, soothing.
I suggested to DH that he cook the evening meal twice weekly, then one weekly when I saw his face. Not happening. Sigh.
Off to plant some seeds to cheer myself up.

Just been for my Spring Covid vaccination this morning! Have put some washing on and looking forward to sitting down with a nice cuppa soon.

This thread is making me laugh. DD came round for coffee this morning but I forgot she was coming. When the doorbell rang I thought she was an Amazon delivery. Her face was a picture when I opened the door and just stared at her open mouthed. She reckons I must be getting dementia if I can’t recognise my own daughter but my mind was on other things like watering the potted plants.

I’ve defrosted some turkey mince for supper but I now have to think of what to do with it. Probably a quick curry in the electric pressure cooker.

I might watch the 1% Club tonight to see if my brain has woken up.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 12-Apr-25 15:07:54

I have been to Aldi, had a fried egg sandwich for breakfast on my return.

Have sewn on two swimming badges on GS’s swimming towel.

My parcel from Sosander arrived so I tried in the dresses, yippee they fit.

Other than that just scrolling and doing jigsaws on my iPad.

DH has been pruning and trimming in the garden.

I love a boring day with nothing planned.

rafichagran Sat 12-Apr-25 15:20:53

Washed and hung my sheets out, housework, shower, drove to one if the towns nearest me, had coffee and a snack.
Home now partner chatting to and watching cricket.

Thanks for starting the thread and pleased it amuses - just wanted to re-state from an earlier thread that it’s a light hearted antidote to anyone suffering, if only occasionally, from GM thread envy!
Meanwhile, I’m considering chopping back a rosemary plant which has seen better days but will probably put the kettle on instead and watch another episode of MAFSUK….

Started the day as usual with a bath and a walk. During the morning it got a bit hot for gardening so used up a left-over carton of oat milk to make a delicious rice pudding. During the afternoon I ate the whole 1 pint pudding blush, so won't cook the previously planned cottage pie for tea.
Evening will be spent watching TV, including Big Brother.

This afternoon took the lawnmower out. Have ordered new blades for it, cut half the small lawn.
Then had a snooze

This is lovely! I'm another who loves a bit of boring. Well, a lot of boring really. But not today because a group of us did tai chi on the beach for an hour and then went for tea and sticky buns at the Pavillion for another hour afterwards. Then I came home and sat watching the goldfish in my pond. And after that, because the breeze came back for a blow, I came into the house and fell asleep.

Aveline

I was so happy to wake up this morning to a pretty blank day. Lots of time to read the papers, compulsively complete the crosswords and relax into a blissful TV binge. Boring but just what I like.

Sounds bloomin’ good to me!
I have just had a Tesco delivery of 28 items and put it away. Have chatted to one grandson who lives and works in Germany, then chatted to the partner of another grandson (local) and checked on my amazing granddaughter who is expecting my first great-grandchild in a week or so. Also spoke to one of my daughters, her mum, who is suffering with a bad back, bless her. Organised a birthday gift for my second grandson, by asking my other daughter for help! I am exhausted!
Still, when I think how many people don’t have family nearby, I thank God for mine, each and every day. And we all get on, too!!
I don’t want people to think we are like the Waltons, but we are very lucky. We do try to repay our luck in various charitable ways, and we respect that we all need time without family visitors but I wish with all my heart that families in the middle of feuds would realise that you only have family for a relatively short time, so make the most of them! I wouldn’t swap mine for all the tea in China! If I still had my late husband, life would be perfect, but perfection is pretty much impossible, don’t you agree?
That said, I am quite capable of, and enjoy, being boring sometimes and quite enjoy it!!

J52 Sat 12-Apr-25 16:48:21

Washed, dried and ironed the cushion covers.

I was always snobby about Big Brother when it started but I have got into it over the years. I tend to dip in and out normally but I must admit, I am enjoying the present one.
I can’t make my mind up about Mickey. Does he need a slap or a hug?
Jack surprises me. Having seen him in Corrie, I was surprised that he doesn’t come over as very nice. He semsbathe4 arrogant and dismissive. This, sadly, will colour my view of him in Corrie from now on. I don’t think he has done himself any favours by going on BB.

shysal Sat 12-Apr-25 18:11:58

Crossstitch fan I agree about Jack and Mickey. I don't watch soaps but am a sucker for reality shows, rubbish though they may be! Australian MAFS is my current favourite.
