While out in town today I had a brief sit down along with various other shoppers of all ages and races. An elderly man dropped a coin under the bench and a young African man leapt into action, ,crawling under the seat to retrieve it for him, then smiled broadly at us all and wished everyone a happy day before heading off. It really lifted my spirits.

I had the pleasure of leading a teaparty for a lady who has been shut-in caring for her bedridden husband for the last 5+ years. 10 of us from church went and a few took homebaking. We took paper plates and our own travel mugs so as not to cause washing-up. I took my guitar and we all sang worship songs. We basically took the church to her I suppose. It was such a blessing to her and all of us. Her husband slept right through it.

Stripped bed and washed my new coverless duvets this morning. They are dry and back on the bed. Love them. Met my friend and we waked along the sea front and stopped for a cuppa or two. Cuddled my cats and sat out in the sunny garden with them. 💖. Purrfect day.

My new garden table and chairs were delivered today. I’m really looking forward to sitting in the garden, listening to the birds.

Sitting in my garden on a sunny warm day

Late autumn our pond was re-lined by my daughter and her son. We have seen very few frogs in it this year - maybe only 3 - and only 2 clumps of tadpoles. These clumps sank. I haven't seen this happen before and read that they might have died.

Joyfully this warm weather seems to have belatedly given them a jog and today I saw at least a dozen smallish tadpoles sunning themselves and bobbing up and down.

Fingers crossed all will be well.
Small things.
Happy days.

It's reasonable weather (high overcast), I will be watching my 1 yr old GS this afternoon while his mum goes to an appointment. I vacuumed the 4 steps down to the back door, so we can practice going up and down. Such fun to see them learning a new skill. We practiced the last two times he was here, so now he thinks it's great fun.

Where do I start! Yesterday was spent giving DD moral support as she moved house. Today I woke up in a bedroom in her new home with river views. Once we had installed a shower screen we went into town, walked round the town square with trees growing, the sun shining, we had a leisurely lunch, basking in the sunshine, before returning to a her new home and a sit out, watching the river and greenery while we drank coffee.

Seconded.

Planted out the runner bean and the courgettes are showing in the greenhouse. Just pottered around a bit in the sun… smelling the apple blossom and next door’s choysia

There was a MASSIVE bumblebee in my B&B room this morning, she was buzzing around looking for food, she landed on the kettle tray so I managed to put a glass over her with a sheet of paper under and gently put her out of the window.

I hope she's well fed and safe wherever she is now.

I look after a man who has a learning disability and today I accompanied him to a hospital appointment. It was quite gratifying this morning when the doctor made a point of telling my chap that he is a very lucky man to have me looking after his interests and that I am obviously a ‘treasure’. Often professionals regard me as a bit of a nuisance as I’m attending as an advocate and their job might be easier without me, but today was refreshingly different.

We went to one of our local shopping malls and a young woman there told us it was 2 for the price of 1 burgers because it is May Day so we got a nice fancy burger each at Betty’s Burgers ( nicer than Maccas).

Today is Beltane, I've made Beltane lemonade, bought flowers to decorate the house and have a bbq planned for later

Going to the dentist yesterday for check up and getting the all clear.
Being out in the beautiful weather and sitting on a seat under a magnificent oak tree listening to the birds......heavenly 😊

This glorious weather. This is the third barbecue we have had this year. Just waiting for the right temperature to barbecue a couple of rump steaks. Sat in the shade with a glass of wine.

Days to remember.

I’m looking after my 6 year grandson for a few days and when his Grampy brings him home from school and he gives me the biggest cuddle it fills me with joy and happiness

I wish you hadn't said that!

No, I can wait until tomorrow!
Enjoy 🍷

Actually, there are a few thundery clouds appearing.

What? Having a bbq? A glass of wine? A cuddle from a grandchild? Celebrating Beltane? confused

Oh, I suppose if the food came from Waitrose 😁
Waitrose Ginger, Coriander and lime chicken is in the oven.

We walked along the beach before coming home for lunch and settled in the garden to read all afternoon- a glorious day 🌞
