Up to my usual routine with a bus trip to Bicester , chat to some I know .
Have lunch watch todays stage of the Giro Tour of Italy on TV.
Health OK,
Take Care,

Good morning from Malta where it is cloudy with a high of 27°C forecast.

A good day with the boys yesterday, they keep me on my toes!
I took them to nursery and both went in happily and I heard a huge cheer and round of applause for DGS2 who was back after his ten days absence due to his op.

Just having my coffee before going over to watch them again today. They have nursery this afternoon but their other gp’s will take them today.

Wishing the best day possible for all.☀️

Good morning from a sunny Bristol. The rain was short lived yesterday but was very welcome.
Iris had a Riding for the Disabled regional competition yesterday. She came first in her category and is now going to take part in the Nationals. #proudgrandma
I was very tired yesterday after another busy day, so went to bed early, having watched the “Chelsea detective”. Gentle and silly.
Tai chi this morning, then a trip to the bank in town before going to my weekly dinner at DD’s.
I hope this finds everyone in a good place, that MD has a successful meeting with the medics, that FGT are reunited, that Ash’s solo foray to the shops was successful.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Shropshire.Another sunny and breezy day forecast.

Household stuff this morning then a friend coming over this afternoon.

Wow!well done to Iris. What an achievement.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🌻🦩

Good morning from a bright and sunny Torbay.

Congratulations to Iris; she has done well! Yes, thank you, grandMattie, my solo shopping trip to Lidl went well. Being there early (just after seven o’clock) meant that I didn’t have to deal with other people being in the way as I manoeuvred the trolley round the shop. In fact there were more staff around than customers! I claimed my birthday gift of a free chocolate donut and used the £10 voucher, added to my account by the Customer Services Dept after my complaint about our previous visit when the Lidl Plus app failed to register my bill. Back home, I coped with carrying my purchases up the steps from the car, too, by which time it was raining quite heavily!

Thinking of the FGTs and Marydoll and any others who face health difficulties.

Have a good day! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from s somerset, sunny today and warm enough

I purposely did not do much of anything yesterday, a bit of tidying here and there, some spinning and I watched a very good film called love on the dole 1941, it was in black and white on youtube and thought provoking

I will be cycling to the allotment this morning and will be de-weeding. I am taking my hori hori and some green manure seeds, a variety that will grow very quickly. I need to get goodness into the soil asap, to give it some life and structure

Have a good day

RosesandLilac Thu 22-May-25 06:31:38

Good morning, a sunny start here in south Glos after yesterday’s sunshine and showers.
I felt like I got nothing much done yesterday but at least my runner and French beans, courgette and tomato plants are potted up.
This morning I’m doing a new dog walk from the next village with a coffee and cake stop on the way back to the car, DH might join us if he has nothing better planned.
Then housework, get the washing out on the line and some weeding and pottering in the garden I think.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

cornergran Thu 22-May-25 06:42:48

Morning Mick, morning All from a cooler, sunny corner of Somerset.

An early start today for dental checkups. I know I’ll need a further appointment for at least one filling and hope the dentist doesn’t find more needing doing. Mr C has no dental qualms, sadly I’m a wobbly jelly as soon as we arrive. We plan a wander to a neighbouring sea front once we escape to make the most of the sun.

Many congratulations to Iris, that must feel better ash.

Have the best day you can everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 22-May-25 06:50:06

Good morning from a sunny S E Essex.

DS4’s children have sports day today, I m going this morning for GD’s and DH will go this afternoon for GS’s.

The 10yr old is coming for dinner and a sleepover after football this evening.

Oh and the builders are here at 8.30am to tart taking the floor up in part of the hall…

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 22-May-25 06:59:58

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I have another day school today - this time on African quilting. I have loads of cotton samples from when we had curtains made not long ago. Lunch is provided and it should be a good day.

Thinking of MD and the FGT2S.

Georgesgran Thu 22-May-25 07:04:02

Good Morning from Cyprus - at the risk of sounding boring, it’s bright and sunny again!
Sad news from soop yesterday.
Hoping for positive posts from MD and FGT later.

Best wishes to all. X

GrannyIvy Thu 22-May-25 07:06:56

Good morning from the Algarve. Today another lazy day enjoying the sun. We will go out for dinner at the marina later to one of our favourite restaurants.

Hope everyone has a good day

kittylester Thu 22-May-25 07:10:53

Good morning all from a dull North Leicestershire.

Another early morning as DH has a blood test at 8.37!!!!! Our doctor is in town right next to a school so that time is bedlam in terms of traffic.

He needs to get back quickly as I have a pedicure booked in the village at 9..45 - and the road is up between here and there and access involves going round village outskirts rather than a 10 minute work. All first World problems, I know.

We are going to the theatre this afternoon and meal on the way home.

Sar53 Thu 22-May-25 07:14:26

Good morning from the Essex coast where it is sunny at the moment, not due to last though.
I had a bit of a problem getting a contact lens out yesterday and now have a very red and sore eye 😢.
DH has an appointment with the Dermatologist this morning to deal with all the lesions on his head.
As I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself I don't think we will be doing much else today.
Well done to Iris, a great achievement.
Have a good day everyone, best wishes to all xx

Greyduster Thu 22-May-25 07:17:00

Good morning Michael and all GNs from a cool cloudy South Yorkshire. It will be another dry day. Yesterday’s librarian led writers session was very well attended and fun. Lots of lively discussions followed by a writing session. My ability to read my own handwriting is not getting any better!
Walking group this morning and then lunch with DD and GS who is now on study leave.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Redcar Thu 22-May-25 07:17:31

Good morning from mid Essex, where it’s dry and sunny but feeling chilly out. We had a short shower yesterday afternoon, barely enough to wet the patio. I’d put some fertiliser on the front garden so had to get the watering can out to water it in.
ash, how satisfying for you to do the shopping by yourself.
Thoughts are with the fgts and md.
I hope madeleine is feeling better and will soon be posting again.
bellasnana good that your grandson is able to return to nursery and that he was welcomed back yesterday!
I’m off to DD1s again today to keep the dog company while DD and her DH are both on the office. No childcare this week as DD says she’ll be home in time to collect them from after school club.
Have a good day everyone.

luluaugust Thu 22-May-25 07:19:50

Good morning from a sunny W Kent where yesterday afternoon we enjoyed heavy rain and hailstones.
Out to my art group this morning and an afternoon of ironing.
Best wishes to all

monk08 Thu 22-May-25 07:20:13

Good morning all from a dull Black country.
DH is looking at a fishing venue today so I shall find something to keep myself occupied, usually I would go with him but another committee member is going.
Well done Iris.
Hoping those under par are feeling a little better and that himself is back home.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.

Jaxjacky Thu 22-May-25 07:23:35

Morning from sunny S Hants, we had some glorious rain yesterday along with thunder, great for the garden. Not much else was done with my dodgy back, it did ease as the day went on, exercises done at bedtime.
Well done Iris 👏👏 and you Ashcombe a big step.
I hope himself is home with FGT
Not much planned today, I’ll be moving about every 30 minutes or so, a garden wander, up and down the stairs, by this afternoon I might nip to the pharmacy.

Gingster Thu 22-May-25 07:27:08

Good morning all from sunny, at the moment, Essex.

Yesterday we had (can’t call it rain) a sprinkling !

Two therapists yesterday - physio took Dh for a walk with his rollator. He doesn’t like it! But trying to get used to it. And in the afternoon the OT playing ball, throwing and catching while counting backwards from 50. He then got him to put pegs on and off the clothes line, using different fingers. He’s doing very well but does get very tired.
We will certainly miss these lovely people in a couple of weeks.

Today we have a different physio this morning. I’ll go shopping while he’s here and buy drinks for our visitors tomorrow and a few more nibbles.

GG good luck with your builders.🤞.
Well done Iris - a great achievement 🌟🐴.

Dd and DGD will come here after school and then take them to Guide Woods for an evening of Brownie fun. Camp fires and activities in the woods. Just what childhood should be like!

Take care all and have the best day you can, whatever it entails.🪴

Grandmabatty Thu 22-May-25 07:29:05

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and sunny. Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day. Ashcombe well done. A feeling of satisfaction. GrandMattie congratulations to Iris. Good for her. Sar 💐
Yesterday was very quiet. Two different friends got in touch and the upshot is, one is coming for coffee on Friday while the other is coming for breakfast on Saturday! Dd popped in with dgs2 after her work. She wanted to borrow my KitchenAid because she's making a wedding cake for a colleague this weekend. While I was out waving goodbye, my neighbour across the road came to tell me he had weeded the fence line for me. They are wonderful neighbours and I'm really glad they moved into the street. I read a lot during the day and watched a feel good film with Celia Imrie and Imelda Staunton at night . Karma I remember watching Love on the Dole years ago and it had a lasting effect on me.
Today there is a Tesco delivery to look forward to 🙄. I have a wash in the machine which I'll hang out. I want to make the most of the sunshine. Dinner is probably chicken from the freezer. Have a good day all.

Gingster Thu 22-May-25 07:31:40

Anyone heard from Bonnybanko. I think she was in hospital last heard of. ?
And Madeleine ?

brook2704 Thu 22-May-25 07:33:14

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s another lovely sunny start to the day, still no rain in the forecast but it’s turned a bit cooler
A very Well Done to Iris gMattie what a wonderful achievement
I’ve a volunteering session early afternoon and then we’re doing the school pick up and the DGC are coming round for tea. It’ll be lovely to see them both, we’ll be dropping DGS off at Basketball practice and DGD at Guides later
Enjoy your well deserved holidays Georgesgran, GrannyIvy and everyone else away just now 😎
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Marydoll Thu 22-May-25 07:37:22

Good morning all from a slightly cooler Glasgow.
Well done, Iris!!!

Babydoll will be arriving very soon and I hope the little angel, we know and love has reverted back to her normal happy personna.
She was absolutely awful last week, probably because she was so unwell --and because she is a determined wee madam.--Normally, we would be out and about, but I have an important Diocesan Safeguarding meeting tonight. Every priest and Safeguarding co-ordinator in the Diocese is expected to be there.
For once I am being selfish. I do not have the stamina for a trip down the coast and I have also advised her parents, that we will be dropping her off early, because the meeting starts at 6pm. I think they were quite surprised, because a DD has said, I never put myself first.

Yesterday was a busy day, spent trying to cancel my biologics delivery, because I am having a break. It resulted in a very long phone call, (it is not a simple process,) including permission being sought by the provider from the hospital to cancel the prescription and put it on hold.

I was also asked if I consented to the manufacturer having access to my medical records. This would mean that they would contact me and I would have hours of form filling to do. This time I declined (done it previously) I could not face it at the moment.

I also had the hairdresser's, no lingering, nor gossiping, (I felt rotten,) GP surgery and then pharmacy.
At last I have a diagnosis from the dermatologist, both lesions on my lip and neck are showing the early stages of skin cancer, but thankfully it has hopefully been caught in time. It will be treated with chemotherapy cream. 🤞

The cause is probably sun damage, due to me being a red head, combined with being immunocompromised, which is also a factor.
The medication has to be ordered, so hopefully I will get it today
With that in mind, we will wander to the Sports Centre café for coffee and BDoll can have a time on the soft play. By that time, my ordered medication should have been delivered to the pharmacy.
The pharmacist was so kind to me yesterday and offered to try and rush the medication by last night. I thanked him and said I had waited months for support, one more day wouldn't matter!

Perversely, I am relieved, because I now know what I am dealing with, and my RA treatment cannot be resumed, until all this is resolved. I now need to update the hospital. That is another task today.
DH commented on my persistence with my GP. ^What happens to patients, who are unable or reluctant to challenge their GP?
My concerns had already been dismissed previously, but I wasn't giving up.

Now all I need is my urgent appointment with the oral surgeon. My mouth is still painful and I continue to lose weight.
The hairdresser commented on how thin scraggy my neck looked!! 😄

I did have a bit of an amusing moment, whilst having my lunch.
We have a parish fête WhatsApp chat for everyone involved. One lady, unknowingly and unwittingly instigated a video call with the whole group.. She was blissfully chatting away to her husband, not realising I could hear every word.

Immediately I hung up, but seconds later it happened again.
Suddenly, many of the other members started trying to join the video call, one after the other. when they realised they had a missed call, it was mayhem, because she had already hung up!

Some members were at work and had to mute their phones. The chairperson said she was coming round to their homes to confiscate their phones. Not if I get there first said I, for every time I tried to take a bite of my lunch, my phone rang.
As usual, parishioners (just like GN) hadn't read the previous comments that it was an error. One man phoned multiple times.

The lady in question, (a very difficult person to work with) in blissful ignorance, said it was not her fault and tried to blame all of us for calling her.
I haven't laughed so much in ages.🤣

Hoping to hear some news from FGT.
Keep going, Blossoming!

Have a pleasant day, folks.

harrigran Thu 22-May-25 07:39:01

Good morning from the NE where we have a forecast of 12 degrees, weather is so disappointing after last week in Scotland.
My medical appointment went well, I was flattered when the doctor said she couldn't believe I was 79 she said she would have put me at mid 60s.
Went to the supermarket and stocked up for the rest of the week.
SIL spent some time washing the car, it was so dusty and fly encrusted after the holiday.
A quiet day today, maybe finish my book.
Have a good day everyone.
