Good morning from bright and sunny South Lanarkshire.

Well done Iris!

Bonnybanko posts on Facebook fairly regularly and seems to be fine Gingster.

We picked up DS’s children from school and nursery yesterday and decided to take a walk on the beach afterwards. The photo is of a rare after school treat.

I’m talking to specialist nurses this afternoon in one of the Glasgow hospitals. Slightly nervous now that it’s upon me, the thought of standing in a lecture theatre is a wee bit daunting.

Thinking of all those with troubles today.

Good morning from a dull looking Suffolk a,though it should brighten up later.

I’m off to my stretch class soon and then to meet 3 friends for lunch in a hotel where their terrace overlooks the river. We have a table booked in the conservatory but will move outside if the promised sun appears.

I then Have to travel back to where my stretch class is held for an appointment with the dentist for a scale and polish. My dentist has promised to do it herself as I’ve experienced some over enthusiastic treatmen from other hygienists in my previous practice.

Congratulations to Iris on her great achievement and hopes that those unwell or with worries have a good day.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Looking like another warm dry day though it's due to break at the weekend when there's our annual Rideout and Fair.

Well done to Iris 👏 gMattie . Having been a volunteer with RDA for 17yrs, I know how stiff the competition is.

I have the optician this morning. I'm still waiting for my second cataract op having cancelled it in February as I hadn't recovered from my hip replacement.

Have a good day everyone whatever your plans.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 22-May-25 07:56:14

grandMattie well done to your GD, how exciting for her to be through to the nationals 👏👏👏

baubles good luck with your presentation, it’s time for your big girl pants 👍

Marydoll it's appalling that it has taken so long to get a diagnosis! My uncle had early skin cancer and it was dealt with very effectively. Best wishes x

You’ll smash it baubles

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle where we have a bit of cloud but not the sort that rains.
Yesterday, after a morning of various little jobs, I settled down to add a few items to my Tesco order, due today. To cut a long story short, I lost the whole thing, an unusually long list too! I had a quick lunch and then spent a tedious time inputting the whole thing again, hoping that I'd missed nothing off. Fortunately, I'd managed to get another slot for today, just a little later.

I went out in the garden to recover my equanimity. I planted into what is normally a rather damp area. It was dry, just the tiniest hint of moisture left in the soil. I gave it all a good soaking including my lovely candlebra primulas which like it wet, wet, wet.
That was followed by sitting out reading one of my bookshop bargains, a brand new hardback I bought for £4 when the cover price was £20. It's only a page turner so will be a charity shop donation before long.

Today, one or two little jobs then admin followed by a walk or more gardening after lunch though I must prioritise the Tesco delivery and not forget it!

My congratulations to Iris, great result!

Do have a good day everyone if you can.

Good morning from a bright and sunny day here at DD's in East Northants. I stayed overnight after DD hosted our bi-monthly wine evening, which went very well - lovely wines, food and good company.

Managed to get my back grass cut yesterday, my garden now looks nice and tidy.

DD will take me home later this morning, and I plan on having a quiet day, catching up on reading.

Hope all have a pleasant day.

Good morning from. Bucks. I’m running a bit late so will come back later to read all the news.
Two bits of sad news yesterday. My nephew is back in hospital, he has an umber of physical and mental problems and one of DD1s cats died.
Today I need to have a tidy in the garden, meet DD2 to help look at some kitchen tiles and start thinking about packing for our family holiday next week.
Wishing all a good day.

Good morning all from a more 'normal' Angus coast - sun, blue sky and large clouds. It feels chilly.
Very many congratulations to Iris, grandmattie. It's wonderful for her that she's found something she's good at, and to go on to the nationals is fantastic!
Good luck with your talk, baubles - I'm sure you'll be splendid.
And Ash, another step forward - well done.
I had my COVID jab yesterday - just very slightly tender this morning 🤞. Today, instead of tai chi, I have the dental hygienist and have asked someone else to take the class for me. I need to go down to open the hall first, and I'll pop in again for the end - just to make sure they have all been behaving 😉. I don't usually miss appointments, but I totally forgot to go to my hygienist one when DS was here the other week. They were so good about it that I felt I had to fit in with them rather than have them dancing around for me, hence the clash with tai chi.
Nothing else except the usual on the books today - last bit of washing on before the forecast rain on Saturday!
I too am concerned about our missing Madeleine - I hope she feels well enough to post soon.
Have a good day everyone, and enjoy the rain 😉

Good morning everyone from cloudy Lancashire. The sun is trying to peep through.

The hairdresser is coming to lop a foot or so off my locks this morning, so I must get a move on. I will read the thread later.

As always, my thoughts are with those under the weather or dealing with sorrow in their lives.

Wishing everyone a happy Thursday 🌹♥️

Good morning everyone. We got home at 7pm last night. Himself was shattered and fast asleep by 9pm. We have to learn to adapt to our new normal. Sleeping propped up, new reflux meds, oral paracetamol, soft foods on small plates. Baby steps. A day of rest and recalibration today. Back to Christie tomorrow morning for an up to date CT scan then review in clinic in two weeks with the results.

Thank you so much for caring and for all your concern and support. I have been quite emotional at times during this past week when in the shower but pin a smile to my face once more when dressed.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 22-May-25 09:10:38

Good morning all. Making the most of what will be a sunny dry day in Glasgow according to the forecast for the week ahead.

I had two morning rises today, 4.30 and 9.30. Hey ho. Good timing for a trip to Waitrose yesterday as they had a fresh delivery of red geraniums. The hunt is over and now with the weather due to change, I will pot them up before my hairdresser visit this afternoon. Email problems yet again but I will hold off until tomorrow before the necessary lengthy phone call will be made.

Well done to Iris GM, I’m sure she had tough competition as always in any equestrian event.
You can do this baubles
Stay strong FGT. You are always in my thoughts. One day at a time.
You did it Ash One more hurdle to tick off.

Best wishes to all for a good/better day.

Grannyme6 Thu 22-May-25 10:16:57

💐 to FGTs.

Curlywhirly Thu 22-May-25 10:36:57

So sorry to hear your DH is having problems again FGT. My Mum had cancer of the oesophagus and I know it's pretty brutal to deal with. Here's hoping he responds well to the Christie's reommendations. thanks
