Welcome! Please make yourselves comfortable. I thank you all for your patience and support throughout the times that we've shared. flowers

Dearest Soop, so sorry to learn of your further health hassles. I’m glad that you’re getting continuing support and hope your GP can come up with something to help. My bedroom is full of things to make life easier and more comfortable, and I appreciate how lucky I am, but nothing can give me back my independence.

Lovely to hear from soop but so sorry to hear of more health problems. The hospital bed will help and hopefully your GP can fine tune whatever meds you need.
Very best wishes to Messrs soop and Carter - the dynamic duo!

Grandmabatty Sun 15-Jun-25 18:19:22

That is a buggeration Soop. I hope the hospital bed helps.
I've had ham hock gratin (courtesy of Tesco) with mashed turnip and a baked potato and feel stuffed. Another lazy day. At least I got dressed and did the dishes. Despite the fact that I'm doing nothing, I feel tired. Go figure.
Enjoy your evening Kitcheners

Hello kitchen people.

Oh soop, what a pain! Hopefully the hospital bed will be perfect.

I have had a lazy day today apart from attending a Book of Common Prayer service at a tiny church in the middle of nowhere.

I'm now cooking dinner - toad in the hole and strawbwerry, peach and raspberry crumble with cream. Possibly an odd choice for today but the weather has cooled a little and I've got some proseccuto chilling in the fridge.

Have a good evening everyone. I hope all is well with the FGST2s.

Hi all, we tootled now to Lyndhurst today, queuing not too bad, to:visit friends where had a late, very delicious, roast beef lunch and homemade cheesecake, stuffed! The weather was perfect to sit out after we’d eaten, warm, breezy and just right.
Now slumping, kindly MrJ has just watered the greenhouse plants, it’ll be twice a day as the week goes on, looking v warm later in the week.

In the resting groove Grandmabatty won’t be long before you can zoom about again.

Sorry you have more health issues Soop. Lots of love to you and Mr Soop

Anyone got any news of FGT? I wish she was back on GN

FGT2 is doing as well as can be expected under her current circumstances.

Still hoping to return to GN in the near future, all being well.

grannygravy thank you for the update on fgt, I think her DH starts his treatment this week? Or he may have already started it - but I hope it has a successful outcome.
I hope you had a good holiday?
Some very tasty sounding dinners this evening - mine was a very boring quiche and salad, but the ham hock gratin sounds delish grandmabatty.

Have a peaceful evening everyone.

Grandmabatty Sun 15-Jun-25 20:21:48

Redcar it was nice but not homemade.

cornergran Sun 15-Jun-25 20:40:29

You make me sound like a tyrant grandmab I’m not, honestly (although my family may say differently) 😂. Seriously I’m pleased you’re taking things easy. In my experience surgeons of every kind aren’t happy if we undo their hard work. Not worth risking their wrath. You’ll be active enough again very soon. Hope your eye is more comfortable tomorrow.

Oh heck soop, I’m sorry life has been such a struggle. You must be exhausted. Truly hope the adjustable bed will make so much difference. Keep enjoying the small things, they add up to a lot.

It’s been a decent day. We’ve eaten far too much this evening, with luck there will be a good night to follow. Mr C can sleep any time anywhere. Me? Rarely or so it feels.

Enjoy your evenings everyone and rest well.

Lovely to hear from you soop but sorry to hear of more health issues and struggles, sending love x

Thank you GG for the update on FGT, please pass on my best wishes to her and her DH

harrigran Sun 15-Jun-25 22:57:22

Sorry to hear you are having mobility problems soop, hope the GP can come up with some successful treatment.

Nannytopsy Mon 16-Jun-25 00:12:03

It’s good to hear from you soop but not the best news. I do hope you start to feel better very soon.
We went for a trip to a National Trust property in Norfolk, taking a picnic lunch. A good time was had by both.
We should have had DS and family to lunch but they have norovirus and thankfully stayed at home!
Sleep tight everyone 💤

Doodle Mon 16-Jun-25 09:49:55

Thanks GrannyGravy. If you’re in touch with FGT please give her my love and best wishes to them both

GrannySomerset Mon 16-Jun-25 09:59:40

Relieved to have news of FGT and hope we can hear from her directly soon. So sorry life is proving difficult, Soop, hope there are small compensations to help the day along. My bird feeders have been discovered by greenfinches, a lovely addition to the goldfinches, bluetits and great tits who usually compete to see how fast they can empty them. That’s one of my small compensations.

Good afternoon all, I was down in the dumps yesterday afternoon, I get so frustrated sometimes when my inability to do things I love is brought home to me. I crawled into the quiet corner for a healing nap and feel much better today. It’s another beautiful sunny day here, MrB and I enjoyed our morning walk down to the Dock gates. We spotted a Mallard family enjoying relaxing in the sonshine on a muddy bank. MrB has nipped out ro the Post Office and a few errands on the motorbike. I have been making the shopping list ready for tomorrow morning. When he gets back I must get on with some admin.

Have a peaceful afternoon and evening, TOYA.

Dear Soop so sorry to hear of your health problems and hope you feel better soon.

Yesterday wasn’t the best.At 10am I had a message on my phone to say an A&E doctor would be ringing me.Absolute complete panic!!He rang an hour later with my results, on a Sunday!!Anyway holtor monitor was fine but the echo found a small part of my heart not pumping properly, nothing to do with the palpitations. He has sent the report to a cardiologist but not sure if anything needs to be done in fact I could have had it for years. However it really freaked me out.DH can’t cope with anything to do with stress but,my DS has been great so pleased he is here. The doctor feels I need some help and review of my meds so will see my GP this week. I really need to chill but not easy I wish I could just be rational.Oh well could be worse but I feel I should have been told at the scan.😣
It’s a lovely sunny day here.Take care everyone.

brook2704 Mon 16-Jun-25 18:10:53

Oh yia I feel for you but please try not to worry, I’m sure you’re in safe hands and it’s good that you’re being closely monitored 💐

Grandmabatty Mon 16-Jun-25 18:24:47

yiayia that would freak me out too! Fingers crossed it's nothing major. Corner I don't think of you as a tyrant at all. It warms my heart to have people concerned for me 💗.
Today I got dressed, did the dishes, put the food rubbish bin out and hoovered. The rest of the day has been lazy. I had sweet and sour chicken for dinner courtesy of Tesco. I'm heartily sick of ready meals but they have been useful.
Brook it was lovely to hear that your granddaughter enjoyed her dancing display.
I'm reading a lot today, so I'll wash the dishes and go back to my book. Enjoy your evening Kitcheners.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 16-Jun-25 18:57:44

Still playing catchup with kitchen news…

I managed to go to the gym this morning, I will ache tomorrow.

Managed 75% of the ironing (put ironing board up on the patio, hot but lovely being in the garden)

DH is throwing some minted lamb kebabs and honey and chilli chicken breasts on the BBQ, I have made salad and cooking some small Jersey potatoes.

Another early night and hopefully the jet lag will be gone 🙋‍♀️

Jaxjacky Mon 16-Jun-25 19:13:21

Hi all, rather a lazy day, some weeding, car tyres checked and fuel put in, the voluntary phone was pretty quiet.
I’ve picked up a cold, runny nose, cough and muzzy head, quite annoying, not ill, just ‘under the weather’ what an odd phrase!
Relatively cool today at 23, it heats up as the week goes on, bbq will be in use here too GG13

Redcar Mon 16-Jun-25 19:42:18

That would freak me out too yiayia, it doesn’t take much these days! I’m in a flap at the moment trying to order repeat prescription on the NHS app,but I think I haven’t got the most up to date version of the app! So when I look for instructions they don’t correspond with what’s on my screen! Will throw myself at-the mercy of the receptionists at the surgery in the morning!
Dentist this morning was quick, crown fitted and paid for. Vacuumed upstairs and down and my back is now upset at the unaccustomed exercise! It’ll be better tomorrow 🤞. Warm again today, with increasing heat as the week goes on.
Have a peaceful evening and a good nights sleep everyone.
