Welcome! Please make yourselves comfortable. I thank you all for your patience and support throughout the times that we've shared. flowers

Nannytopsy Wed 18-Jun-25 19:11:44

I’ve had a coffee morning in a care home (one of our WI was 91) and a garden visit with afternoon tea. Tomorrow is church cleaning , organising, doing flowers etc for a concert with refreshments in the evening. And then it’s 9 whole days until the next event! Thank goodness for that.
The missing dog has probably been taken - so sad.

Grandmabatty Wed 18-Jun-25 19:16:24

Kittylester* 💐 It sounds awful for you

GrannyGravy13 Wed 18-Jun-25 19:19:18

Sorry kitty I missed your post where you mentioned that you both had Covid.

Wishing you a speedy recovery 🤧😷🤒

Grannmarie Wed 18-Jun-25 20:09:21

I've just realised that I thought today was Monday... I've wished you all a peaceful Monday evening...oh dear, I'm on the slippery slope 🤣.

brook2704 Wed 18-Jun-25 20:38:06

Hi kitchen pals, it’s lovely to hear from you all
How awful about your neighbours dog nannytopsy I hope it’s recovered and the culprit caught
It’s been a busy day here with a volunteering session, a quick gym class and a trip to DD2s. Oh and I did manage a bit f housework this morning too 😇
What a lovely day grandmabatty, you do sound happy, so pleased for you
Well done to your DGC with their sports day GG 🥇
So pleased you enjoyed a night out with your sister grannmarie it sounds good

brook2704 Wed 18-Jun-25 20:44:25

Grannmarie

I've just realised that I thought today was Monday... I've wished you all a peaceful Monday evening...oh dear, I'm on the slippery slope 🤣.

That made me smile as I have a friend who knows that we, theoretically, don't drink on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, always tells me that it's Thursday.

cornergran Wed 18-Jun-25 21:44:44

Get better soon kitty. You do sound fed up with your germs.

Your poor neighbour nannytopsy, hope her dog is home safe soon. There are some awful folk out there.

Decent day here. Finished steaming washed clothes, very sauna like. This afternoon we decamped to the pier to people watch in the welcome breeze which accompanied the more than welcome sunshine.

A lot of cake has been consumed the last few days, next week for sensible eating - maybe!

Rest well everyone. .

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 18-Jun-25 22:30:28

Hello kitchen people.

We’ve had a lovely day. OH had a cortisone injection in his knee and then I drove him to the monthly U3A lunch. It was delicious,

I had WI this evening. An interesting talk followed by tea and cakes.

I’m thinking of those of you with difficulties.

Sleep 💤 tight.

brook2704 Thu 19-Jun-25 12:31:34

Hi kitchen pals, it’s very warm up here in Inverness but a bit cloudy, it’s lovely being outside in the garden listening to the birds singing. I’m at home today as I’m on call for volunteering but I don’t think they’ll contact me now, I’m probably not needed
I’ve done lots of washing that’s drying outside and gardening this morning, just having a break for lunch sat in the garden. I do need to go out later so might do a quick dance class at the gym this evening. I just seem to enjoy the dance classes much more than any others and everyone is so friendly
Hoping Jax and Kitty are getting over Covid and feeling a bit better today
Aldo that Mr &Mrs Soop are doing ok
Thinking of the FGTs and everyone in the quiet corner just now, take care all x

Grandmabatty Thu 19-Jun-25 12:52:47

Hi Brook. It's warm here too in central Scotland but not very cloudy. Sounds idyllic. I am popping in and out to the garden but still protecting my eyes. I've just had egg mayo on crusty rolls and I'm about to have a cuppa. I have a small ironing to do later. Dsil is popping in from his work to put out the bin for tomorrow and pick up cakes which ds brought yesterday. He'll get an anniversary card too. Dd and Dsil will be celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary tomorrow. Time flies! I would have been married to her dad 44 years today! However it wasn't to be. Enjoy your day Kitcheners. I hope the poorly folk feel better soon

Grannmarie Thu 19-Jun-25 13:30:14

Good afternoon, lovely Kitchen people. Just popping in to let FGT know that I was at Mass this morning, candles were lit for them. 🕯🕯

It's pretty warm here in normally dull and drizzly Lanarkshire, hurrah!🌞 I've just had lunch on the patio, toasted potato scones with spreading cheese, fat free yoghurt with red berries, tasty.
I'm waiting for the washing machine repair man, who promised to be here at 12. I've got my massage at 3 this afternoon, don't want to miss it.
Wishing everyone a peaceful afternoon/ evening, enjoy the sunshine if possible.

Grandmabatty, snap, my DS1 and DDIL1 celebrate 22 years married tomorrow, how time flies!

brook, enjoy your free time in your gorgeous garden.

TOYA

Our friends’ little dog has been returned now that they have paid a £2000 “reward”. 🤬

Jaxjacky Thu 19-Jun-25 15:58:32

Goodness me Nannytopsy nasty people.
Hello Grannmarie mmm, potato scones sound delicious, I hope that man came and you’re now floating away with your massage.
Very warm here, late 20’s, I’ve been indoors, the covid cough has nearly gone, but I feel washed out, most odd.
Jumpers washed earlier, all dried and away, MrJ was out this morning returning my library books, he’s chosen some more - they look ok 🙂

brook2704 Thu 19-Jun-25 18:17:01

Oh my goodness nannytopsy £2k reward! Are the police involved ? that’s dreadful
Take it easy if you can Jax, your body will be letting you know you need to rest
I’ve just dropped clean washing off at DD2s 🙄 and pulled up at the gym - dance class starts at 6.30 so I’ll do that, then home for crispy chicken salad. If I put my location on my phone and send to DH when I leave here it should be on the table when I get in … that’s the plan anyhow 🤣
Happy Anniversary to your DD and DS gbatty and annmarie 💐🥂

GrannyGravy13 Thu 19-Jun-25 18:25:12

Evening dear friends , nannytopsy I hope they have involved the police 🤬

We have the 10yr old here, he has had a swim and a splash, shower and now waiting dinner (steak on BBQ, salads followed by strawberries and ice cream)

I popped to M & S Foodhall for some goodies and British veggies and fruit.

Took the top bits and rings of my Range apart and popped them into the dishwasher along the extractor fan filters. That’s my domestic goddess activities for this month done and dusted.

Enjoy this glorious weather 🙋‍♀️

Blossoming Thu 19-Jun-25 18:47:12

Good evening all, a beautiful summer day here. Just checking in to see if there’s any news from FGT2. I’m so very tired at the moment and struggling to keep up with things. TOYA ♥️

Jaxjacky Thu 19-Jun-25 18:55:02

It’s now cooled down a tad, was 29, now 26, MrJ will water later, the garden, in particular pots and baskets, are gasping.
My kind of housework GG13 mine today has been non existent, it’s odd, when you’re under the weather, you’ve little to report!
But, I do hope kitty is on her way back to fighting fit and soop is now at least somewhat set up for a more comfortable life.

FGT2 is doing as well as can be expected, she is missing GN and hopes to be reinstated next month 🤞🏻

Grandmabatty Thu 19-Jun-25 19:23:56

Thank you for letting us know grannygravy. I think of her and her dear man often.

kittylester Thu 19-Jun-25 19:36:30

Thanks for the update on FGT, GG.

I am a fair bit better today and walked to the shops in the village but haven't done much else. In fact, I sent DH off with the ironing to the lovely ladies at the laundrette.

Bertie and Persie are, theoretically, doing an whole school sponsored walk tomorrow from their school all round our local beauty spot and back to school. I hope it's cancelled - they can keep the money.

brook2704 Thu 19-Jun-25 20:02:48

Thank you for the update GG13 and good to hear you’re feeling a bit better today kitty

Grannmarie Thu 19-Jun-25 20:48:48

Good evening, lovely Kitchen people. 👋

Nannytopsy, I'm so glad that the wee dog has been returned to your friend, I hope the police are on the case of the extortionists.

Jaxjacky, go gently, covid takes a lot out of you. Kitty too. Great that your DHs can sort out ghe reading/ ironing!

Thankfully the repair man came in time and I made it to my massage appointment. I came home and sat out on my new garden bench with my magazine, I might have dozed off!😴🌞

Hope you're enjoying your crispy chicken after your dance class, brook. You've inspired me to book a class for next week, Aquafit, nothing too energetic. I'll just do my exercises in the water if I can't manage the routine!

Thanks for the FGTs update, Grannygravy.
Your wee grandson has a great appetite!

Blossoming, I hope you can rest and recharge your batteries in the sun.🌞 I put my shorts on when I came back from my appointment, not often that happens at home!

Hoping and praying for the best possible outcomes for the Soops, FGTs, SueD's son and DH, and for all with worries, illness or sorrow. Gentle hugs to all in the quiet corner. Wishing everyone a peaceful Thursday evening ( am I allowed wine , Kitty? 🤣🍷), and a good night's sleep.

TOYA, NNGB

cornergran Thu 19-Jun-25 20:57:57

Thank you grannyg. Good to hear

Hasten slowly kitty, it’s a nasty bug to recover from.

Very warm here today, touching 31 degrees. We took the car and a picnic to a quiet beach and enjoyed a paddle before eating. Thoroughly enjoyed sitting watching little ones splashing about.

Rest well everyone stay cool if you can.

Redcar Thu 19-Jun-25 21:16:23

Hello everyone, it’s still very warm here in Essex. With all the insulation in my house and big picture windows letting the sunshine in, I’m unable to get the inside temperature below 29 degrees! An uncomfortable night ahead I think.
I did go for a walk this morning, it was about 23 degrees so very pleasant. I haven’t done much else apart from watering the garden, actually just the plants that are wilting! Every year I think I’ll reduce the number of pots I have, and every year I don’t do it! I did some ironing too, so not completely idle.
gg thank you for the update on fgt.
I’m pleased that the little dog has been returned, but horrified that the owners have had to pay to get him back. I hope the police are involved in this extortion (is that the right word?).
I hope that the soops are ok and that there is some news on the hernia support appliance.
grannmarie glad that the repair man came in time for you to have your massage. I’d put my shorts away last autumn and it took me a while to find them yesterday! I only wear them in the garden, I don’t think the world is ready to see my legs at the moment! And yes, grannmarie I’m sure you’re allowed wine!🍷.
Have a good night Kitcheners, sleep well.
