Everywhere you look online you are constantly reminded of the rift with their oldest son Brooklyn. As if it wasn’t enough to keep seeing Victoria Beckham scowling at the cameras and what she’s wearing.

Odd that someone starts a thread about a subject they are fed up hearing about.
I watched the 2023 Beckham documentary, never had much time for either if them but the reviews were surprisingly positive.
He deserves a knighthood, l think she's been so misrepresented in the media a that she's had to grow a very thick skin and noone sees the real Victoria, mother of four who has always done her best for her husband and children whilst trying to maintain an independent career, despite the money all that's not that easy.
I think you’re right. I don’t like her but that’s because I am easily influenced by the impression she deliberately gives to the public, which I suspect is not the real Victoria at all.

I think he lessened his chances of a Knighthood when the email was leaked in which he used foul language and leashed a tirade on other celebrities who had received honours when he felt that he deserved one more.
At that time his chances couldn't have been any less. He'd been told he wouldn't be considered for a knighthood because the Inland Revenue thought he was evading tax, he totally disputed it and l don't think it ever was proven, but the rumour was there. He was incredibly frustrated and wrote the email to his PR team. Someone leaked it. Beckham is incredibly astute, the email did him no harm, the media have always shown utter negativity towards the Beckham's, since they accused him (wrongly) of losing the World Cup in 1998 (dates may be wrong, sorry) and stirring up national hatred against him.
When l say Beckham is incredibly astute I'm suggesting he authorised the release of the email.

I haven’t seen anything about a Beckham rift, where are you reading it Cardashian? I loved David’s Stella advert recently though, that’s the last time I saw him.
Unfortunately it’s The Mail online. Not only that, when you click on either Google or Chrome there follows “news” and they are usually on that too!

I'm just 😀 at the fact that the thread was started by a Cardashian!
Allira - I couldn’t resist as my surname is Carder and I like witty names 😂

It was David Beckham's 50th birthday early in May, there was a week of celebrations none of which Brooklyn attended. Media picked up on Brooklyn's absence and haven't let it drop since.

The Mail are obsessed with Harry and Meghan and the Beckhams. I wouldn’t touch any tabloids if you paid me (and I could certainly do with the money)

....... until he takes his clothes off!!!
(Or is dumb enough to use vicious foul language on camera, to voice his annoyance at not receiving a Knighthood!!)
.
I saw a headline that Charles, Camilla and the Beckhams had attended the Chelsea Flower Show. Made it sound as if they’re part of the royal family which they probably think they are.
Apart from David in an alcohol ad (I think), can't say I've seen them much at all lately.

Well, if they’re thinking that they’ll need to get in the queue behind Alan Titchmarsh!
So fed up of hearing about the Beckhams. So a MIL has fallen out with a DIL, hardly news is it?
As for Harry & Meghan, another family dispute, maybe more important being part of the royal family but still who cares? Just another episode in a long running soap.
Trivial nonsense about people who seem to crave the spotlight.

Amazing it took until page 4. I think it just might have occurred to most of us but we chose not to comment.

Ditto, could not care less..hate celeb culture and any programmes about them!
I skim over many newspaper front page headlines when I buy my local paper, and for a few days there was definitely a number of them relating to a rift between them and Brooklyn. If I recall, he wasn’t going to be attending some big bash that his parents were giving - possibly an anniversary.
I haven't heard anything about the Beckham's for ages. Not that interested truthfully.
I like David Beckham. I think he’s a really handsome chap and he seems like a caring dad and husband, in touch with his ‘feminine’ side. I feel sorry for them all. They are just like any other family with fallings-out and estrangements - and it must be hard reading about it in the paper everyday. The Mail just won’t leave it alone.
It’s always makes me smile when people join a thread to comment on how they have no interest in the topic of the thread 😂
Bring on Sir David Beckham! (As long as he still does his pants adverts of course!)
Like others here, I knew nothing of this supposed rift. But I dislike gossip of any kind and avoid it if I can - celebrity or otherwise.
Overall, I admire the Beckhams - they have built and maintained successful businesses, stayed married and generally manage not to embarrass themselves in public. The average Gransnetter might not be the target market for VB's fashion brand, but there are many people out there who are - hers is only one of numerous luxury brands.
There will be no directly attributable comments by VB about her DiL - only the usual gossip from 'insiders/friends'.
And those who think that her children could have had an ordinary life are in cloud-cuckoo land. They had a choice between choosing to present their children in public and teaching them to cope in the public gaze, or making a huge effort to try to protect them from the press and public view. Neither would have been normal.
I think that if we saw Harper Beckham with her friends, we would not think that she looked out of place. The children of the very rich live completely different lives to those we are more familiar with.
The Beckhams are a very successful British brand - we could choose to cheer them on......and I can think of some very less worthy recipients of knighthoods than DB. Come on Sir David!

HThat is SO rude! Who do you think you are that you think you are in a position to criticise another poster? Words fail me at the arrogance of some people!

Well our PM has managed to keep his children under wraps, we don't even know their names. Along with all of these entertainers who also have children who are never seen or photographed, Cate Blanchett, Elton John,Benedict Cumberbatch, Eddie Redmayne, Ed Sheeran, Carey Mulligan, Idris Elba, Kate Winslet (oldest child is an actress, but as an adult) the younger two are unknown, possibly still at school, Emily Watson, Christian Bale, Hugh Grant, Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz, Keira Knightly, Keeley Hawes and Matthew McFadden, Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton, Kelly McDonald, Cheryl Cole. To name but a few. They have probably all made the decision, that whilst they have chosen to be in the public eye, their children haven't and their safety and interests are best served being out of the spotlight so they can grow up without being judged. Obviously it's all possible. Depending on a young person's strengths and frailties being launched on a public stage has ruined many a young person. speculation suggests something bad happened to Justin Bieber at a tender age, it didn't do Tatum O'Neil a lot of good when she was launched into the acting world along side her father, not to mention the Jacksons, Drew Barrymore, Natalie Wood, McCaulay Culkin, Lindsay Lohan. Judy Garland is a prime example of a life ruined by exploitation when not much more than a child. Often behind the famous child is a pushy parent/s who has a vested interest.
Well I must live in my own little bubble, as I hadn’t heard about the “rift”. The algorithms have obviously missed me, though I do actually like the Beckhams. On the whole they seem to be a close and happy family, very down to earth when you think how much money and fame they’ve had (and all through their own efforts). David was hugely talented as a footballer, he’s likeable and well-mannered, and generally a good role model (and yes, I do remember the alleged affair and the “petulant” foot swipe 😂 - nobody’s perfect). And though you’ll be surprised to hear that I’m no fashion plate, I can appreciate good designs when I see them, and Victoria’s very highly thought of in the fashion world. No doubt DB does consider himself a better candidate for honours than many others who’ve been given them, and I agree with him.
Estrangement is a horrible experience for any family, and to have it played out in front of the press and people who seem to relish your misfortunes must be tough. Let alone having to get used to random strangers on social media feeling it’s perfectly acceptable to spit out nasty insults such as “miserable raddled stick insect” (even though the people saying this must of course be stunningly beautiful themselves).
I wish them all well, and if they are having problems, here’s hoping they can sort them out.
