I’ve just taken my evening tablets with a glass of champagne.

What do you do that is wrong?

Nannylovesshopping Mon 02-Jun-25 18:59:04

Go away knobsonit!!

Dottydots Mon 02-Jun-25 19:00:00

Oh dear, Withnobsonit has just told us off, just when I was thinking of taking my evening tablets with a gin and tonic.

Abnuyc123 Mon 02-Jun-25 19:04:22

I’ve just had a bacon sandwich and two fried eggs for tea. Not great, tasted good though.

LadyGaGa

A plate of nachos with melted cheese, sour cream, salsa and guacamole on top. Pretty much devoured the lot. Oooops. They were supposed to be a sharer for two. Sod that for a game of soldiers! I’m on my hols!

OMG

Sago Mon 02-Jun-25 19:52:05

Who would you rather have a night out with, Withnobsonit or the pill popping, wine swigging, chocolate bingers?

Oh I forgot the procrastinators!

Desdemona Mon 02-Jun-25 19:55:25

We all exit this life at some point.

Enjoy yourself.

It's later than you think.

lizzypopbottle Mon 02-Jun-25 20:15:20

Sago I'm with you on the medication only I swallow mine with a glug of red wine.

Shortbreadandkilts Mon 02-Jun-25 20:27:57

What a fabulous question! Lots I wouldn’t put on here. But having a cigarette sat on the garden bench at the dead of night looking the stars with a cuppa.

At my age who cares. A few weeks a Dr, not mine advised me I should be eating more plant food, which I know all about BUT does she do 24/7 caring, does she have plenty of energy. I would not be rude but I just went yeah yeah, then came home and managed MY life. Just care for you....

And this always calls to me Iam! I printed it off - the late great Lynda Lee Potter musing (and whoever did the drawings, brilliant) and it’s framed on our little apartment in Málaga. It always makes me smile when I visit. 😁

love it, I shall use that as an excuse forever.

Love my one G&T every evening before my meal…

RillaofIngleside Mon 02-Jun-25 22:09:33

There is good news for those who find cramming in five portions of fruit and veg a day about as appealing as limp lettuce – you can now count red wine and dark chocolate.
Telegraph today!
A new five-a-day diet including tea, apples, oranges and berries, all foods rich in chemicals called flavonoids, will help people to live longer, a study has found.

RillaofIngleside Mon 02-Jun-25 22:13:19

Sorry that posted wrong but you get the idea!

WithNobsOnIt

Is this a pee take. Not funny or do have somekind drink problem..Also not funny.

Alcohol and medicine not advisable.

Lastly. How old are..You sound about five.

What is the matter with you? Have you actually read the posts properly? If so, how can’t you see they were funny?
You, Withknobsonit, are a miserable so and so and I feel sorry that you have the sort of life that makes you as sanctimonious as this!
You asked how old the poster is - you said she sounded about five. Well you sound about 93, old and humourless!
Off to have a large glass of brandy, (maybe even two, shock horror!) so, cheers!!

Yes - flavonoids!

Well, I knew someone who had a great sense of humour even when he was over 100!!
I can't remember him being fond of vegetables, apart from chips, but he did like an occasional Guinness 😀

Crossstitchfan Mon 02-Jun-25 22:51:03

A great sense of humour at over 100! Brilliant! That’s how I’d like to be. I believe a good sense of humour helps you live longer and my doctor agrees with me! So keep laughing folks!

RillaofIngleside Mon 02-Jun-25 23:34:49

I was more interested in the red wine and dark chocolate than the apples! Yes flavonoids!

A lovely fun thread. I take my medication with water, oh what a saint, swiftly followed by a vodka and coke.

Nanacool Tue 03-Jun-25 05:45:09

Oooh the memory. I tried to climb the lamp posts in the pub after being given several of these, I was soooo ill. I was about 18 at the time.

Nanacool Tue 03-Jun-25 05:47:28

Brandy and babycham I believe they were called Flying Angels, oh the memory, never again.

TheWeirdoAgain1 Tue 03-Jun-25 12:34:18

I don't like champers or wine etc. so I take my pills - even strong ones - with Baileys or other cream liqueurs or with beer/lager but mostly with soft drinks or milk and I scoff copious amounts of rum and raison ice cream!

I'm 60 and going to snuff it sooner or later anyway so why not?!

Cossy Tue 03-Jun-25 12:55:53

None of these things are wrong!!! 🤣🤣🤣

LadyGaGa Tue 03-Jun-25 16:59:46

Thought of this thread an hour ago when I was sitting in a lovely bar overlooking the sea in Lanzarote. An old chap came in - must have been well into his 80’s. Had a zimmer frame and oxygen via nasal prongs. His family helped him and had a coffee. He had a pint of beer, a big dinner and a big ice cream sundae. He looked like he really enjoyed it, and asked his daughter for half a tablet because he felt a bit sick. He washed it down with his pint. That’s the way to live your life!

GrannyGravy13 Tue 03-Jun-25 17:48:29

Keeping up the trend, I have just taken painkillers washed down with Chenin Blanc (stress headache 🤕)
