Now I Know the World's Gone Mad

Apart from all the hair, makeup, dresses and fancy cars for proms which is massive on our local FB page I've just read a couple of posts on MN.
What the f**k.
A parent has emailed a teacher because her daughter didn't receive a bouquet after narrating in an assembly for 6 mins.
In another post someone was asking for a bakery that would make period cookies. Cookies depicting panties with a pink gusset, sanitary towels and welcome to the big girls club.
That's apart from kids being allowed to go to school with a tail as they identify as being a cat or something.
Where is all this stupidity going to end or is it too late because it's being allowed to happen?
I'm so glad my two daughters (both in their 40's) don't have any children.

The world has gone mad as well as utterly stupid!

Schools are struggling so much to provide the basics let alone frivolities like this
Whatever happened to «You did so well.»
«Thank you»
and don’t get me started on Period cookies
What do the parents do…the schools can’t do it all

The teacher would have bought the thank you presents, not the school

Different "from" please.

I’m not sure it’s actually up to you to correct others’ grammar, Mabon!

Yes, the world is going - or perhaps even gone - mad.
I survived school without all this nonsense and when I was working in schools I didn't come across this. BUT this was a long time ago. Common sense seems to have disappeared

Kids, I don't know what's wrong
with these kids today.
Kids, who can understand
anything they say?
Kids, they are disobedient,
disrespectful oafs
Noisy, crazy, sloppy, lazy, loafers.
And while we're on the subject,
Kids, you can talk and talk
till your face is blue
Kids, they still do
just what they want to do.
Why can't they be like we were,
Perfect in every way?
What's the matter with kids today?

(The lyrics of a song from "Bye Bye Birdie" a musical which premiered in 1960.)

My youngest GD is in Primary education. She plays in the girls cricket team for the school and they were recently runners-up in a cricket tournament. The team were called out in assembly and each girl given a Well Done sticker. She was delighted with that.
