Bore Da Mick and all who follow from PG Towers where it’s light, dry and delightful to be home 🤗 enjoying a proper chamberpot 😉 before my walk for a newspaper.

A busy morning catching up with laundry before trotting to see my Dad with a card and some posh Turkish Delight 😋 he’s a war child when sweets were rationed and has more than made up for it since!

Will pop in and read the latest this afternoon - a peaceful Sunday for you all 🙏

Good morning from Malta where another sunny day is forecast with a high of 38°C.

Welcome home Pantglas, it’s always good to get back to your own bed. 🛌

I did very little yesterday, a bit of laundry and cleaning before putting my feet up to watch Trooping of the Colour which I always like to see.

I actually went to lie on the bed in the afternoon as I felt so worn out. Dozed off for a while, what a waste of a day.

Today I’m meeting a friend for coffee at 9am, then I’m joining the family for Father’s Day lunch at the same restaurant we went to for Mother’s Day.

I don’t really enjoy eating lunch, especially in this heat, but it was kind of them to ask me so I didn’t like to say no.

I am, however, going to say no to DD3 as I think I deserve a day off tomorrow since she’s got a day off from school.

Hope you all have a good Sunday.☀️

Good morning from Shropshire.A sunny day forecast.

We had a lovely day with the children yesterday. No plans for today.

Wishing everyone a good day🌻🦩

Good morning from a grey Bristol. The temperatures are starting to climb at last.
I was invited to lunch at DD’s to see DS. It was so good to see him. He seems well. We didn’t get much of a chance to talk as we had lunch immediately, as the family went to celebrate SiL’s bil birthday, DS wanted to see th3 rugby in a pub.
During lunch, my dry funny DGD decided to speak only using one syllable. Words were seriously contracted or cut off. We were in stitches.
Iris is mobile, using crutches indoors, wheelchair the rest of the time. Minor keyhole operation on the right knee, a plate inserted at the top end of the left knee, so a more serious operation. She’s very pragmatic about it all, less her. She has a lot of pain still but is only on OTC painkillers.
Nothing happening today, just church in the morning.
Have a blessed Sunday. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a bright and sunny Torbay.

My condolences to Liberty. 💐

My mother loved Turkish Delight, Pantglas. It used to come in wooden boxes like Camembert often does nowadays. As a child I tried it once and thought it was disgusting!

I think you deserve the Bank Holiday to recharge your batteries, Bellasnana. I’m sure your DD could manage her errands with the boys in tow, just as you do sometimes.

I’ve been asked to play the piano for the 9.30 service today. Our regular musician prefers playing the organ but the small congregation find it overpowering at times.

A blessed Sunday to all and a happy Fathers' Day. 🦩💐✝️🥰🦩

Morning Mick, ironing All from a brightening corner of Somerset

Hiding indoors yesterday my eyes are thankfully back to normal. I’ll no longer scare the horses when we venture out today. A trundle along the motorway and what I hope will be an enjoyable meal for Mr C later.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Greyduster Sun 15-Jun-25 06:46:26

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a fresh, overcast South Yorkshire but still no rain. We are not forecast any today. I am going to the gym early this morning and then I am meeting DD for a walk at Longshaw in the Peak District. I haven’t been there for a long time. It used to be one of our favourite places to walk, with lovely views over the Hope Valley, and the waterfall at Padley Gorge which I expect will be just a trickle at the moment, it’s been so dry here. This afternoon will be rest and read, I think.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from s somerset, pleasant with sun and clouds today

Be strong Bellasnanna I am glad you said no, I didn`t like that she even asked you, you should be cherished with kindness, not mis-used

Allotment for a couple of hours yesterday and some sewing after watching trooping the colour.

Today will be a longer bike ride after breakfast, on my e bike for the steeper hills. I am planning to work on my dress toile afterwards, I will finish it today. The fabric feels cool to the touch so I will be wearing it later this week when it gets hotter. It looks nice hanging on the dressform, £6 for a dress and a top, I might as well make the top as well

Blackcurrants need closer examination later, I think they will need to be picked

Have a good day

Good morning, a brightening start here on the hillside in south Glos, oh boy, it was a very soggy spot yesterday! We had several torrential downpours, much needed and appreciated.
Our morning dog walk was, as usual, very peaceful. We watched a pair of red kites at very close quarters overhead, beautiful birds. There were spectacular storm clouds constantly threatening from the southwest, really black and ominous, but the rain held off until minutes after we got back.
The wheat and barley to the sides of the footpath are growing very strongly now, there’s a beautiful blue hue to the wheat, both are full of nesting skylarks that you can hear singing as you walk along.
It’s going to get much warmer this week 😵‍💫, I really don’t tolerate heat well, so I will be walking the dogs really early. DH definitely isn’t a morning person so I’m going to start walking them together, not easy but it’s either that or take them out individually which obviously takes twice as long!
I did some drawing yesterday, rather pleased with my efforts! More today I think.
Have a lovely day 🌹

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. I am cooking lunch for 11 today, roast beef and Yorkshire puds. DS is making the puddings. DB is 75 soon and we are combining an early celebration for him with Father’s Day. Lots of help thank goodness.
Best wishes

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton; a shower forecast this morning, but then sunny afterwards. However I shall be indoors over lunchtime as.I have booked to see a film at our art-house cinema in town - it's called 'Jane Austen ruined My Life.' A rom-com I believe, so easy watching I hope.

A pleasant morning at the shops yesterday, with coffee and a sandwich in the M&S Cafe. Some nice fruit and veg purchased, then had a look round Next but wasn't tempted by anything.

Sat in the garden with the newspaper and the cats when I got home - they clamoured to go back indoors after half an hour; they are funny, mithering to go out and then can't wait to get back in!
Made myself a lovely Aperol spritz, and sat in the sun reading Pride and Prejudice! Will probably do that again today when I get back from the cinema.
Am watching a serialised 'Mansfield Park' on tv at the moment.

Bellasnana enjoy your day off tomorrow!

A Sainsbury's Moussaka for dinner tonight.
Wishing all a pleasant day.

ginny Sun 15-Jun-25 07:20:59

Good morning from N. Bucks. Weather looks promising again.
The towns open gardens were lively yesterday. Different styles and lots of inspiration. Pity they are hidden away usually.
Today we have MILand DD3 and family coming for lunch. Hopefully we will be in the garden.
Afterwards we shall take a short ride to a nearby village for their fete.
DH is being taken out this evening by all 3 DDs.
Thoughts with all who have troubles and worries and a good day wished for all.

Good morning everyone from Inverness, we’ve still got cloudy skies, yesterday we had rain for most of the day
It’s DGDs dance show this evening at the local theatre so we’re looking forward to going to watch her. They've all worked so hard with lots of rehearsals over the last few weeks. Other than that nothing much planned but lots of housework to keep me busy
Enjoy the walk with your DD greyduster it sounds lovely
Well done Bellasnana it’s always difficult to say no, but I’m sure your DD will understand. You need to look after yourself too
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Jaxjacky Sun 15-Jun-25 07:23:24

Morning from a sunny S Hants, no rain yesterday.
My condolences to ypu Liberty 🥀
Too right Bellas a day off is definitely in order, well done for saying no, you should be treasured.
We’re off to lunch at our friends in the New Forest, hopefully going later it won’t be too busy on the roads.
Have a pleasant day.
FGT hope all is well

Good morning from mid Essex. It’s dry sunny and warm this morning. We had a heavy shower yesterday morning but the sky cleared later and it was a sunny afternoon. I cleaned the bathroom and then cleared a patch of my front garden and put a few antirrhinums in. Today’s objective is to clear the rest of that part of the front garden and put more plants in, it looks as though it will be a warm dry week so the watering can will be used a lot!
grandmattie good that Iris is getting around on crutches indoors. I hope you have a good time with your DS while he’s in England.
bellasnana I hope you have a good lunch with your family, 38 degrees would be a bit hot for me these days but I used to love the heat!
DD2 will call in this morning, then she’ll go to the ladies cricket this afternoon with DD1 and her family.
Have a good day everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 15-Jun-25 07:38:42

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

A quiet day today I think. Church this morning at the smallest church in the Benefice. It will be a Book of Common Prayer Service.

I have planned a simple dinner for tonight - toad in the hole and strawberry and raspberry crumble.

Next week is due to be busy so it is nice to have a lazy day!

Have a good Sunday everyone. I’m thinking of the FGT2S.

Grandmabatty Sun 15-Jun-25 07:45:28

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 12° and sunny. Yesterday it rained all morning with a thunderstorm which was underwhelming. Bellasnana you need that day off. GrandMattie good for Iris.
Yesterday I lay about all day. The eye pain settled down and disappeared by lunchtime. I stayed in my jammies all day and felt incredibly decadent.
Today will be more of the same. I will get dressed today. I'll wash dishes and that's about it. I'm not expecting any visitors so a quiet day. Have a good day all

Sar53 Sun 15-Jun-25 07:46:07

Good morning from the back of our boat where we are having a cup of tea after spending the night here. We had a 70th party at the club and decided to stay here so neither of us had to drive home.
We will be doing some clearing up before setting of home, about 20 minutes away.
Later this afternoon we are going out for a Sunday roast.
Yesterday DD1 had a troublesome tooth extracted. She decided on sedation and says she doesn't remember it being done. She had been so nervous beforehand.
I hope you all have a lovely Sunday and see some sunshine 🌞.
Best wishes to all xx

EkwaNimitee Sun 15-Jun-25 07:47:52

Good morning Mick and all from sunny Carlisle.
It stopped raining after breakfast yesterday so I went through the park on the way for the paper. It was absolutely deserted, no early dog walkers or exercisers! On the way back, I was confronted by the cob swan. He stood in the middle of the path whilst his mate and brood dozed on the Pond verge. I wasn't going to be faced down by a swan so I kept on, keeping as far away as possible. He raised his wings and hissed and I got ready to swat him with my bag but that was it. Maybe his mate had told him about her murdered partner of last year, killed by a dog.
After I got home and settled with a coffee, the heavens opened and we had a very noisy thunderstorm. The rest of the day was frequent heavy showers so an indoor day for me.

It will be a quiet day again, I had a restless night and feel bleary. I feel a new book calling and might even be able to sit outside with it, it's pleasantly warm. A bit of baking may be in order too.

I hope you all have an enjoyable Sunday.

GrannySomerset Sun 15-Jun-25 07:52:57

Service this morning in our smallest and oldest church and friend next door but one coming for supper later so a nice day ahead. DD and DSiL on holiday on the Red Sea and shall be glad when they are back home as it all feels a bit high risk but am sure they will be OK. Always something to worry about.

Gingster Sun 15-Jun-25 07:56:23

Good morning all and it’s cooler than yesterday, although it did cool down a lot during the evening.

Dh managed to mow our small lawn whirl I dud some weeding. I leant over over a Phormium plant and a spikey leaf went straight into my eye. It was very sore yesterday but seems better today.

DS1 and DIL will come for coffee this morning to wish Dh a happy Father’s Day and Dd and DGD are coming for lunch.
DS2 has sent a parcel for his dad .

Good for you Bellasnanna - it does take a lot to say ‘no’ to our DD’s but it needs to be done sometimes. She will think twice about asking you next time .

Enjoy the dance show Brook. 🩰.

Lovely for you to have your son ‘home’ for a while GM and hoping that Iris recovers well. 🙏

Take care and enjoy the day 🌼

Marydoll Sun 15-Jun-25 07:58:59

Good morning all, its 12°C here in Glasgow, with showers predicted.

My condolences to Liberty.

A happy Father's day to all, especially if it means you can spend time with family. I realised my children would be visiting, but there are no goodies in the house. 😱
I will quickly rustle up some strawberry or raspberry tarts! My brain fog is awful at the moment, I totally forgot to bake.

Bella, I am pleased to hear that you are planning to say, No, to your DD. You are allowed a day off too! Your daughter would be in a pickle, if you became ill from exhaustion. I don't know how you manage to do so much childminding.

I think I must have been the most popular person in church yesterday, when parishioners came to collect their raffle prizes.
Today, I have the pleasure of handing over the magnificent sum of £250, to a lady, who had bought the ticket for her niece, whose mother was buried on Friday. A bittersweet day.

My main task today is to hand over more prizes and try and find the First Aid box, which is missing from the church. I have looked everywhere. I hope it has not been sold in error.
My reason for thinking this is, I had left a bag of personal
Items, behind the stage, only to come back and find it gone. A helpful parishioner had put them out for sale.🤬

The hot water heater is not working and the tea ladies think I am also an engineer, in addition to my other talents,. 🤣
First step is to locate the manual, to troubleshoot the problem.
Unfortunately, another of our helpful parishioners has removed it.

Have a good day folks and GM, I hope you get some time alone with your son.

GrannyIvy Sun 15-Jun-25 08:09:58

Good morning from Cambridgeshire. We have had a busy few days with friends visiting and today will be spent with just DD2. We are planning a BBQ and just relaxing in the garden. DD1 is now on her cruise to celebrate her 20 th wedding anniversary. .

It is difficult to say no Bellasnana but you did the right thing and enjoy a day to yourself.

Yesterday I just felt so tired by the evening after rushing around and being with people. It worries me that all of a sudden I am feeling my age and need time to just relax.

I hope Iris continues to recover well GM and you enjoy time with your DS.

I had sad news yesterday that my DD2’s schoolfriend’s mum had passed away in her early 60’s due to motor neurone disease such an awful cruel illness and my thoughts are with that family today.

Hoping everyone has a good day. I will raise a glass to my dear Dad today remembering all the happy times we spent together.
