I can’t stand it. We had a very hot Summer this time and now the weather is the opposite. Very sunny and dry but very, very cold. I saw some of that white stuff this morning on the path, haven’t seen that for a few years.

Are you in Melbourne?

My sister lives there and she has been very cold recently- maybe you are my sister...?

Dorrain Mon 16-Jun-25 08:52:38

I'm in Sydney nanna8 and yes its so cold, 6 degrees at 6am and it only reached a high of 17 early this afternoon. Brrrrr!

My eldest daughter is in Melbourne with her work and has had to buy a padded coat. I have let her know we are in for hot week.

Our Melbourne contingent are rather chilly 🥶

We’re sweltering here nanna8 in the South East of the UK, makes it hard to sleep at night.Grumble grumble😁
Fans on, and icecream every evening.

We're on holiday in Wales... if the temperature could manage 17 degrees today we'd be happy! It's been so cold we've had to hit the shops for warm clothes 😁

17!! Freezing?? 😀

That’s a lovely temperature for getting on with life in shirt sleeves.

Its fairly nippy over here too Nanna8! At the top of the South Island. Quite frosty in the morning but at least our water pipes haven't frozen yet, touch wood! I've got a sunny house so don't have to light the fire till late afternoon unless its a black frost..brrr

Allira Mon 16-Jun-25 14:04:12

DD said she'd made some mulled wine, it was so cold!

Georgesgran Mon 16-Jun-25 14:05:14

Here in the North East, 17 would be Factor50 tropical! It’s a well known saying here that coats are for wimps! 😂

Only joking - I think it’s low 20’s today, but hazy.

Yes, I told DD the temperature was 16C (feels like 14C) here too and this is supposed to be our summer.

Get out of the walk in fridge then!
17C is NOT freezing

BlueBelle Mon 16-Jun-25 15:07:09

It’s beautiful and hot here (East east) no complaints from me
(but) we are inundated with tiny minute black flies and green flies Had a sleep in my deckchair in the garden and was covered when I woke up , all in my bra and everywhere else
Can’t have something good without a downside can we bah

😁
That's what I told DD when she's said "It's freezing here!"
I reminded her that she did take Physics at A level.

It is about 1C in the mornings, sometimes freezing. That’s cold. It is 7C just now, early evening. We are at the foot of the Dandenongs so probably a bit colder than the city.

Bigred18 Tue 17-Jun-25 11:46:57

I agree nanna8 - it is freezing! 4 degrees in Sydney this morning. We don't have central heating or fires so it is cold. Electricity costs are highest in the world apparently so we don't just turn on heaters. I have air conditioning but use it sparingly. I spent my childhood in UK so remember burst pipes, net curtains frozen to windows and paraffin heater in bathroom! So I know cold!

Susieq62 Tue 17-Jun-25 14:26:00

I am in Hvar Croatia and 33 here! Australians have no
Idea about the cold 😂😂

Sadgrandma Tue 17-Jun-25 15:17:17

Can I send my DH over? He’s moaning about the heat here in UK!

Ktsmum Tue 17-Jun-25 15:44:49

Just back from South Africa, ut's their winter and bitterly bitterly cold early morning, until about 9.30am when it is hot for the rest of the day then very cool in the evenings

FranP Tue 17-Jun-25 17:33:01

We have had lots of heat over the UK, but while some areas are getting heavy rain and flooding, in East Anglia we are basking in dry heat up to 32 degrees, and having to water everything.

We love to talk about the weather
