Good morning from a sunny Bristol.
Though it’s warm, it’s not possible for me to sit in the garden due to a chilly wind. I’m finding this rather enervating.
The WI meeting was partly very funny and partly mortifying, seeing 6 women, none under 70, shimmying creakily to “Arabic” music.
DS called me, to invite himself round. Yesterday was fully booked but today is empty. He’s going to do a spot of digging round my little damson tree, to get more fertiliser and water to its roots.
I’ve got to do my usual baking for tomorrow before he comes, so it’s going to be a rather full morning…
Have a good day, enjoy the sun/warmth. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Malta where it is already 25°C and will rise to 39°C later. A tad too hot but thank heaven for air conditioning.

I had a lovely morning yesterday pretending I was on holiday.
Went out early and managed to find the things I’d been looking for.

Took myself for coffee at a rather more up-market place than our usual cafè and bought a slice of raspberry and pistachio cake to take home with me. It was delicious but I had to do half an hour on the exercise bike as a penance for all those calories!😂

Today I am about to go to watch the boys feeling much refreshed! I shall probably bring them to my place as I have more outdoor space than they do so we can get the paddling pool out for them.

I’m wondering how things are with the FGT’s. Sending my best wishes if anyone can pass them on.🙏🏻

Hoping today brings some joy to you all.☀️

Good morning Mick from the north Wales coast where I’ve been up since sparrowfart for no good reason! I’ll need a siesta later for sure 😴

Picking Dad up this morning for his dermatologist appointment - hopefully a straightforward procedure and home but I’ve insisted he packs a bag just in case…he wasn’t a happy 🐰!

Will pop in later and read of your delights (and downsides for too many 💐) x

Good morning from Shropshire.Another sunny day forecast.

After yesterday’s late start I am awake ridiculously early today.

I will do an hour of Welsh then wake DH.We are going to see mum today. Its an emotional rollercoaster at the moment. We will have a chat with the home’s chaplain which is always comforting.

We had a message yesterday to say we have free electricity for four hours on Sunday so will save the laundry until then!

I hope your dad’s appointment goes well Pantglas.

Thinking of all with mountains to climb.

Wishing everyone a good day🌻🦩

Ashcombe Tue 17-Jun-25 05:55:08

Good morning from a fine start in Torbay with sunshine expected later.

We do belly dancing moves as part of our Move It Or Lose It routines, grandMattie, mainly to maintain hip flexibility. It must be a joy to have DS home again.

DH is setting off about now to begin his journey over here. After five weeks apart, we shall enjoy catching up although we meet by Zoom daily and text regularly, too. I’m off to Props this morning.

Have a good day, everyone. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from s somerset, warm and sunny today

I wont be doing much today, pottering, a walk, sewing. This is going to be the best day before the heat builds.

I broke a pane of glass from my mini greenhouse yesterday, I was thinking about botching something together but no I will fix it properly. It took me a long time to find the manufacturer, but I did and have accessed new glass, handles etc. Toughened glass, I was too rough and it broke into 000s of tiny rectangular pieces. Still the deed was done and it took me a long time to clean up. I was very happy to see that I could get the replacement.

It is a lovely greenhouse, was expensive even 6 years ago and took me a heck of a long time to put it together, I even bolted it to some concrete slabs that I bought in

We have had new owners for two local businesses, no closed shops here, everyone is happy, they will retain their original format. The house next to me is sold now, sold quickly too, good news. A young family which makes us happy and we remain a mixed community

I think I will start the day as I mean to go on, I am going to lay a tray with my breakfast, at 7.30 and will be having that outside

Have a good day

RosesandLilac Tue 17-Jun-25 06:13:15

Good morning, bright, sunny and cool here at the moment in south Glos.
I was somewhat tired by late morning yesterday, two x two mile dog walks followed by making potato salad and coronation chicken, cleaned the kitchen and did the ironing.
I had a lovely quiet afternoon in my Shed and there was a lovely breeze so not too warm.
Today I need to walk tiddler then take my car for its MOT, Annie has her dog walker and DH has a hospital appointment so he’s leaving by 8.30. and will be out nearly all day.
Then the day is mine so I will dust and hoover through and get the washing done.
I’m not looking forward to it getting hotter….. I wilt in really warm weather!

Best wishes to you all 🌹

Good morning Mick and everyone from a sunny Cheshire. I awoke to the blackbird at 4.30, but didn't hear any sparrows Pantglass2! I didn't water the back garden last night, so was out there early watering to the birdsong.

This morning my acupuncturist will try to calm my tinnitus. I'll be busy in the garden most of the day. This evening the builder will come to assess major changes to the front of the house. He built the original, so knows what needs doing. I think I have a fair idea of the cost, 'gulp'!

Enjoy your day. Special thoughts to those with worries. flowers

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Woke at 5oclock thinking about DGS3’s degree results due today, if I do this for all the exam results this summer I’m going to be short of sleep.
My cleaner never came yesterday as her poor dog was attacked by another dog on Saturday and she needed to take him to the vet. I shall phone later to see how he is.
Best wishes to all dealing with difficult situations

Kalu Tue 17-Jun-25 06:51:34

Good morning all. 15deg and slightly damp in Perthshire this morning with a high of 20deg predicted.

Still in Perthshire which helps me accept my new normal of being here alone. Having family and friends nearby has helped as did the lovely surprise of both GDs arriving to spend the weekend here. First time for GD1 driving to Perthshire and it was such a joy having them here.

Best wishes to all for a good day and hopefully some respite for those struggling through difficult times.

Sar53 Tue 17-Jun-25 06:57:15

Good morning from another glorious day on the Essex coast.
I had a walk by the sea yesterday and will do the same again today.
S spent Sunday night in hospital again, was discharged yesterday morning and managed to take her last Physics exam with very little sleep. We are very proud of her. She has a Food Tech. exam this afternoon and then school is over for her. Hopefully she will get the results she needs to start college in September.
I have ironing and club admin to keep me busy today.
Have a lovely day everyone, best wishes to all

GrannyIvy Tue 17-Jun-25 07:07:17

Good morning from Cambridgeshire where it is a beautiful morning. It is day 2 of our gas boiler installation and the power flush today which I am dreading. We also have a leak on the cylinder in the airing cupboard which needs sorting today. Then it will be a clean up operation.

I managed to fall over the hosepipe draped across the garden with a heavy pot in my hands yesterday afternoon and although no major damage to me or the pot I have a sore bruised toe and I think doing a long walk at the local NT property with a friend is now not happening tmrw morning!
School pick up for the little ones but otherwise not much happening here

Have a good day everyone. Enjoy this gorgeous warm weather

Redcar Tue 17-Jun-25 07:12:38

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, dry warm and sunny again.
Dentist yesterday was ok, crown fitted and out again in 15 minutes, but the bank balance was a bit depleted!
I was fairly busy, ticking a few things off my to-do list, but my hip (replaced last November) ached a lot by the evening. I won’t be quite as energetic today. I tried to order my repeat prescription on the nhs app, but seem to have gone wrong somewhere so I need to try to get that sorted today.
ashcombe safe travels to your DH today.
susan I hope your mum is better when you visit today.
pantglas fingers crossed your dad’s hospital visit goes smoothly and that he doesn’t have to be admitted!
grandmattie enjoy your DS’s visit. Shame the wind is too chilly for you to sit out in the sun,
Have the best day possible everyone, thoughts to those who are unwell or anxious.

Grandmabatty Tue 17-Jun-25 07:19:44

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and wet. There's been quite a downpour. GrandMattie enjoy your catch-up with your son. And ash similarly with your DH. Sar your granddaughter is made of stern stuff! Kalu I hope you continue to enjoy your but and Ben!
Susan my heart goes out to you. It's a difficult situation.
Yesterday I dressed, did dishes and hoovered. The rest of the day was spent reading and watching tv.
Today I will have a shower and wash my hair. The delight of normal life! My son might visit as he's taken a week off work. It will be nice to see him, if he does. Dinner will be the last of the ready meals - a curry I think. Then back to the freezer tomorrow.
Have a good day all.

Greyduster Tue 17-Jun-25 07:25:12

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from an already warm South Yorkshire. It is altogether too hot for me at the moment and I felt quite ill with it yesterday. We have this for another week it seems, and I’m sure we must be close to being in a drought situation now. I have some small jobs to do this morning and then will walk to school for my volunteer session this afternoon.
Have the best day you can, folks.

brook2704 Tue 17-Jun-25 07:25:20

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s warm with light grey clouds
Hope your dads appointment goes ok Pantglas
I’m going to a couple of classes at the gym this morning, there’s a gap of about an hour in between the two classes so I’ll go for coffee with a few of the ladies. Then a walk by the river back into town, I might get a bit of shopping from M&S and then I’ll get the bus home.
Safe travels to your DH Ash and everyone else on the move travelling today
Kalu 💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

GrannyGravy13 Tue 17-Jun-25 07:26:30

Good morning from a glorious sunny S E Essex.

I need to do a big shop first thing, as the fridge is bare. Then hopefully finish off the ironing (in the garden)

School pick up and swimming lessons, then will bring the boys back here for more swimming and a BBQ.

Slept slightly better, hopefully tonight back to normal.

Sar53 poor S, she has had a rough couple of months, hopefully when the stress of GCSE’s are over she can relax and the asthma meds will finally kick in

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

BlueSapphire Tue 17-Jun-25 07:28:21

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 🌞 Northampton, another fine day ahead. It is going to be very warm for the next 10/12 days, so have stripped the bed this morning to put the summer duvet on. I have started leaving the bedroom and en-suite windows wide open of an evening so there is a good through breeze.

A pleasant yoga class yesterday morning then coffee afterwards at the little cafe round the corner. Lunch and then prepared a Bolognese for the slow cooker which I enjoyed very much for my dinner. Four portions left over to go in the garage freezer this morning.
Sat in the garden in shade afterwards and continued with Pride and Prejudice.

Bed changing later this morning and the lighter duvet on the bed. Then off to join my walking group after lunch; I guess we'll take it a bit slower today!
Tuna fish cake, new potatoes and peas for dinner.tonight.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 17-Jun-25 07:28:46

Susan56 hopefully your visit to your mum will be better today.

Ashcombe or will be good to have your DH back with you.

grandMattie how exciting for you to have your son home.

grandMattie Tue 17-Jun-25 07:40:31

Ash, I appreciate the need to do belly swings, etc. But to do it for money, in harem costumes and so on, is a bit much. Unless they do it to be laughed at!

hollysteers Tue 17-Jun-25 07:46:12

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Nice quiet day yesterday catching up with various things and reading in the garden.
Today to music club so will have a warble before I go.
My Velcro cat keeps miaowing, don’t know what she wants, she can go out, the food is there and I’m not a mind reader…

Thinking of the FGTs, enjoy your DS company GM, also your DH Ashcombe
My painting on silk.

GrannySomerset Tue 17-Jun-25 07:53:09

A very sticky night means I have woken up grumpy, and the forecast hot spell is not welcome but there’s not much I can do about it. No pleasing some people. Wonderful Cleaner due soon so bed changing and laundry this morning and WI this evening the plans for today. Must sort out some cooler clothes.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 17-Jun-25 07:56:00

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

A fairly busy day looms. I’m going to the excellent picture framer in a nearby town this morning to sort out frames for the two pictures I bought the other week at the Arts Festival. I don’t have the print which I ordered from the Summer Exhibition yet. I should receive it from the artist directly.

After lunch I will visit friends. One of our number had a massive stroke last Friday. I was sitting in a taxi in London when I got the phone call.

Finally tonight OH and I have our third pottery class.

One of OH’s hives has produced a lot of honey so he will be extracting that today.

Have a good day. I hope the FGT2S are ok - someone said the new treatment starts this week.

Harris27 Tue 17-Jun-25 07:58:24

Been up early as the last week has been an emotional rollercoaster. My dear brother died on Saturday morning with an early call from the hospital. I made it with about five minutes to spare and held his hand as he passed. It’s coming to terms being my last brother to go and all of the memories he has left me. You do not know how reading your daily morning posts has helped me realise how life goes on and normality will resume. Busy day ahead again with numerous calls and people to speak to I’m determined to get back into some routine and keep busy. Thank you all for keeping me going now and moving in. Bless you and have a good day all.
