Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 12°C.
Sounds like you had a lovely time with your son, GM.
We had a busy morning yesterday, DH's Covid booster, picked a up a few household items, award winning meat pies for DH and then went for a fish tea.
This has always been a treat for us, but I was embarrassed to leave most of my meal on my plate, for a number of reasons. My mouth is still painful, I have lost my sense of taste and have no appetite.
At least I am no longer
fat overweight.
Our visit to the pie shop was similar to a comedy sketch. As you know, DH is
in denial deaf and I am struggling to hear on my left side (at least I can admit it)
There was a large range of speciality pies, but the labels were handwritten and difficult to read in the light.
The poor assistant should be awarded a gold medal for patience and customer service.
DH; What is that pie?
Me: Steak and Stornoway.
DH: What kind?
Me; St-or-na-way.
DH: It was made in Stornaway?
Me: NO! IT HAS STORNAWAY BLACK PUDDING IN IT!!
This conversation was then repeated for a variety of other pies.
While waiting for DH, I popped into the charity shop next door, to pass the time.
DH was in and out of the booster venue in minutes and heard me saying to the ladies running it, that I loved to look at the jewellery. The manager said that they had just received a large bag of jewellery and would I like a rummage.
I took one look at DH's face and politely declined.🤣
Of course I was exhausted when I got home and followed the usual pattern of falling asleep, cup in hand. 😉
I opened my eyes to see DD in front of me. She has just returned from her break in the depths of Argyll, so it was lovely to see her.
I got my usual lecture about doing to much for everyone, childminding, giving up my church work, and not resting enough. Once she had achieved her mission, she then went and had her usual secret chat with DH.😉
They have always been as thick as thieves.
Today, I need to visit M&S food hall for a couple of things for DH.
I aim to get out early (nigh on impossible), because the schools break up at 1pm today and Silverburn will be very busy.
I am in the midst of yet another cull. When I was so unwell last week, I realised that it was unfair to expect my family to dispose of my collection clothes and shoes of department store proportions, so I am trying to be ruthless.
I am aiming for half an hour a day, but sometimes I can't manage, even that
However, I am expecting a delivery of Kurt Geiger trainers today. 😍 I hope I can intercept the parcel, before DH answers the door.
I wish you all a pleasant day and hugs to all, who find life so difficult.💐
