Good morning from a grey Bristol.
We have been forecast rain this morning but, like previous forecasts, they are probably wrong.
The FAB cafe was quieter yesterday, but still very cheerful and chatty. Just what they for.
The afternoon was spent reading and sewing.
Today, just tai chi. More sewing, no doubt.
Any news of*FGT*? All the best to everyone. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Malta where we are sweltering in 38°C with a forecast of 40°C over the weekend.

Boys were angels yesterday, played happily until 11 when both decided to go for a nap. DGS2 went to sleep holding my hand, precious moments. I took a photo of his sweet little hand in my gnarly old paw. Frozen moments. They grow up too fast.🥲

I am just drinking my coffee then I’ll be off again. Might bring them back to mine if they want to play in the paddling pool. Will see what they want to do.

Wishing a good day to you all.☀️

Good morning Michael and all GNs. Overcast in South Yorkshire and rain is expected this morning. Yesterday was a warm one and I felt under the weather for most of it, but I did some ironing, weeded the patio and then spent most of the afternoon, as there was no writers group this week, in a semi torpor.
Gym this morning followed by walkers group, lunch with DD and then a visit to the garden centre on the way home.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Grandmabatty Thu 26-Jun-25 06:20:27

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and wet. Bellasnana that's a lovely moment. Treasure it definitely. Greyduster I hope you feel better today.
Yesterday I did some of the cross stitch kit in the morning then my friend picked me up. We went to a new (to me) local café which was very nice, if a bit noisy. We put the world to rights then she drove me home and gave me strawberries from her garden.
Today I misread the time and got up, thinking it was nearly seven. Oops. I'm having a coffee and will get moving soon. No plans for today but I'll do more cross stitch. The weather doesn't look promising so I'll delay doing washings til tomorrow. Have a good day all

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

Precious moment Bellasnana.

I had a slightly embarrassing experience when I went to collect the youngest GC from nursery yesterday. The children were playing outside so I called his name when I was admitted to the garden, he looked at me as if he’d never seen me before and wouldn’t leave his game. Rather awkward when the staff members on duty that day had never met me. grin

A quiet day ahead probably as I’ve absolutely no plans so will just see where the day takes me.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a humid Black Country where it is currently raining.

Arrived home yesterday around 6.30pm. Flight left 2.00pm bang on time. Have been away in Portugal for almost 3 weeks! Quite happy to be home. Then a call off DD to say her DH was in A & E. He is home now, seems he had torn a muscle but he had chest pains, that is why he was sent to A&E.

Washing machine is already on the go. We each only took a 10Kg bag, and that was more than enough, in fact I had one dress I didn't wear.

DGD3 (16 next month) had her Prom last night. She looked very elegant in her dress.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Ashcombe Thu 26-Jun-25 06:48:22

Good morning from an overcast Torbay where we’ve had overnight rain which has just started again.

A sad day here as I will be watching my cousin's funeral being live streamed this afternoon. He was younger than me and had a glittering military career, passing through Welbeck and Sandhurst before rising through the ranks to Colonel by the time he retired. For his last post he was in charge of the pensioners at Chelsea Barracks and a few years ago he led them in the Armistice Day Parade. He died on my birthday last month and, coincidentally, today would have been my late sister's 79th birthday. RIP. ✝️

Thinking of those in pain or with worries of any kind. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

RosesandLilac Thu 26-Jun-25 06:48:43

Good morning, it’s grey skies here in south Glos, some very light drizzle isn’t making any impression on the very dry garden.
We had a lovely early dog walk yesterday morning but by the time we got back to the car at 7 it was muggy.
I did 3 loads of washing which all dried so ironing to do this morning.
I have sewing group this afternoon, I haven’t been for a while, I have no idea what I will take to do! I’m sure I will find something, I have a number of kits I have been given over the years.
I bathed tiddler yesterday, she’s such a funny little sausage, she gives me such dirty looks it makes me laugh! She and bigger dog are a delightful pair, I’m very lucky to have them.
Sending good wishes to you all 🌹

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Art group this morning, no idea what to paint but plenty of chat. Packing this afternoon ready for a weekend away.
Best wishes

Good morning all from a sticky North Leicestershire.

I am helping facilitate a Teams Carer Learning session this morning. First time using Teams for this rather than zoom - hope it goes well.

Sainsbury's delivery later.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve light grey cloud with rain in the forecast
Aww Bellas precious moments indeed ❤️
A quick trip to DD2s this morning but other than that nothing planned until my favourite dance class this evening. I’m hoping it stays dry so I can get out into the garden and potter outside for a while
Ash a sad day watching your cousins funeral
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

glammagran Thu 26-Jun-25 07:11:46

Good morning from overcast Wiltshire.

Yesterday I managed to break a glass shelf in our large upright freezer in the garage pushing it back as something was stuck. It exploded into thousands of fragments. Luckily it was the 2nd from bottom shelf but took me an hour to clear away all the glass which was both inside the freezer and all over the floor.

Today we have DGS2 (4) who is at nursery Mon-Wed but DD2 has changed one of her workdays to today as she has to go into her office in Bath for a work event. We haven’t had him for a while so wish us luck! He goes to school in September.

We all have colds after our weekend in Weymouth. This meant DH went to bed during the afternoon - everyone else is just getting on with it.

Have a good day everyone.

Redcar Thu 26-Jun-25 07:13:23

Good morning from mid Essex. Cloudy but quite bright here this morning, none of the forecast rain unfortunately. A disturbed night as I couldn’t get comfortable, it felt quite airless even with the window open. I spent some of the night trying to decide on colours for the rooms I want decorated. I’ll have to get some colour charts and sample pots, then contact the decorator. I also need to chase up the plumber about my boiler service.
ash a sad day for you.
Have the best day possible everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 26-Jun-25 07:14:24

Good morning from a warm S E Essex, for some reason I slept badly last night, fortunately I have nothing planned for the day.

Susan56 Thu 26-Jun-25 07:18:35

Good morning from Shropshire.Overnight rain again but due to be sunny later.

Thank you for your good wishes yesterday for my appointment.I have a difficult decision to make re treatment options.I was so shattered after the appointment that I slept the afternoon away and have just slept another ten hours.

Anyway onwards and upwards.A friend is coming round this afternoon so I am looking forward to that.

Ash💐a sad day for you.

Thinking of all with mountains to climb and of our absent friends.

Have the best day you can everyone🌻🦩

Marydoll Thu 26-Jun-25 07:22:56

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 14 °C.

Bella, I know what you mean. At the weekend, Dollie, was sitting between her daddy and papa at Mass, when I sat down. Halfway through Mass, she climbed over everyone and the next thing, I felt a head on my shoulder and a tiny hand in mine.😍.

I managed out for a couple of hours on my own yesterday. I went into Marks for some things for DH, with the anticipation of rummaging in the sale rails.
I needn't have bothered, there were three small rails full of stuff that they couldn't sell.
Before going home, I went into Monsoon a favourite of mine and could easily have been seduced by the beautiful jewel colours. I am proud to say, I bought nothing, because I am trying to be a good girl.😉 it's blooming alien to my nature., all this being virtuous.
DH was shocked that I was back so early, I just don't have the ability to do much. True to form, I was fit for nothing in the afternoon!💤💤💤

DH and I were very upset to hear that his golfing partner's bone marrow transplant was cancelled yesterday. He has developed an infection and raging temperature, which isn't responding to intravenous antibiotics.😔
His wife, the Ebay Queen has surprised all of us. Her husband used to run after her, as if she was a queen. She never even put out the bins. However, she has certainly stepped up to the mark, even power hosing the drive.
I got a message from her after midnight last night, saying she didn't expect me to be awake nor didn't want to waken our other friend. friend. I said not to worry, our friend was awake, I could see her sitting in her chair! We are night owls.

We have Babydoll today and it is wet, she is becoming more and more thrawn independent. Wish us luck, we shall need it! 😉

Enjoy your day folks, whatever your plans and *Greyduster, I hope you feel better today.
Susan, I hope you got on O.K at the hospital yesterday.💕

ginny Thu 26-Jun-25 07:34:17

Good morning from N. Bucks. It’s a bit dull at the moment and we had some rain overnight.
We shall be leaving to travel to Newport ( Wales) late morning). Overnight there and then on to a village between Haverfordwest and St. David’s.
Last bits of packing to do this morning. Garden to water , DD3 will do that next week and DD2 will do the following week..
Wishing you all a good day with a smile along the way.

merlotgran Thu 26-Jun-25 07:38:39

Good morning, everyone from a cloudy south coast. Rain is forecast in half an hour🤞🤞I could do with a break from watering the allotment. Music group went well yesterday with two new members who brought along some interesting pieces.
I have a blood test at 10am then drop off a Pacamac from Amazon to be returned. I ordered the size they recommended and I know they should be roomy but it was an ‘actual tent’ as DGD would say. 😂
Hope you all have the best day possible. 💐Ashcombe

EkwaNimitee Thu 26-Jun-25 07:39:25

Good morning Mick and everyone from rainy Carlisle.

Yesterday was ironing and special cleaning ops in the kitchen diner. I had to shift my rubber plant somewhat, it has decided it loves it here and is growing lustily, better than it did in its last home in a conservatory.
In the afternoon, I finally planted a new rhododendron which has been waiting around for a while, then I hummed and hawed over a vigorous golden privet which rather needs taming. Job for another day.

I learnt that one of the cygnets at the other end of the Pond had to be euthanised at the weekend due to swallowing discarded fishing line. There's not supposed to be fishing yet if I visit at the weekend there are always kids doing it. Why doesn't someone sort them out?! Fisherfolk discarding stuff make me so cross, it's so unnecessary.

Today, probably indoors. A Tesco delivery is due, admin awaits and I need to have a think and do research on radiators before the plumber comes tomorrow to survey them and estimate for possible replacements. Then a new book calls....

Do have a good day everyone.

cornergran Thu 26-Jun-25 07:39:43

Morning Mick, morning All from a grey, windy corner of Somerset. Just a few spots of rain on the window, same as yesterday. Sun should emerge soon.

The hospital appointment wasn’t as difficult as I feared, pleasant clinician who agreed no purpose would be served by returning. Phew.

Ironing and pottering for me this morning before an early lunch.

It’s prom season. We’re taking our granddaughter for her hair appointment, I’m moral support and think I’m more nervous than she is about potential pitfalls. Looking forward to it though, a new experience for me. We’ll be there to see her dressed and wave her off later.

An emotional day ahead ash. I hope a helpful way forward becomes clear susan, an exhausting time for you. Definitely memories to cherish bellasnanna. Our grandson was like than when he was involved in something baubles. The ‘staff’ had to wait.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 26-Jun-25 07:42:44

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Yesterday I had a good haircut. It’s short enough that I can’t tie it back. OH actually admired it. He doesn’t usually notice when I have been to the hairdresser, unless I tell him. We had a quick trip to our local NT place. It was so humid that we didn’t spend long in the gardens. We spent longer having a delicious cream tea.

It is my Book group today. We meet at lunchtime in the village cafe. Today we will be talking mainly about poetry. I love ‘To his coy mistress’ by Andrew Marvell.

Have a good day. I hope all is well with the FGT2S.

Mizuna Thu 26-Jun-25 07:43:45

Good morning from a balmy Cornwall. A rogue echium has chosen to grow across my patio steps (see pic) but fortunately I love the plants which pop up everywhere in our town so I'll just keep ducking under it.

Fun with the youngest grandchildren yesterday at their house. Today they're off on an overnight school trip to Plymouth Aquarium, called Sleeping with Sharks. 😀 I'll spend the day at my allotment where last year's 15ft tall echium is barring the entrance to my greenhouse. Day of the Triffids or what!

Thinking of you today Ash. 🙏

Kalu Thu 26-Jun-25 07:52:17

Good morning all. A wet start to the day in Glasgow. Supposedly the rain will stop by noon followed by a dry sunny afternoon.

My final diagnosis shows I have arthritis in my lower back, left hip and knee which combined is causing sciatica. At least I know what’s going on now and can take steps, literally to do daily excercises which so far, is giving me some respite from constant pain. Somehow it feels better knowing what I am dealing with. Onwards and sideways. Tai Chi has been suggested but balancing on one foot is nigh on impossible to hold.
Hairdressers today is my outing.

Have the best day possible all.
