(For those who haven’t seen any for far too long.)

I might put a few quid on Wimbledon fortnight, but possibly a tenner on late July - once the school holidays have started. Isn’t it often the case that real summer weather (even if too hot) turns to rainy and unsettled once the children are on their summer holidays?

Next Sunday, we have a family bbq here 😏🙂

When my DD actually gets her pool up. She has been talking about it for weeks.

It’s the Summer of 76 all over again.

Except then I revelled in the romance of long Summer nights

And now I worry about my vegetables 😬

We're going to our neighbours' garden party for their wedding on Saturday... 🤞🏼🥂

pably15 Mon 30-Jun-25 16:11:53

Rain predicted here for Wednesday. Cant remember when we last has some.

V3ra Mon 30-Jun-25 16:30:45

pably15 thank you. They deserve a nice day, they're lovely neighbours.

Summer 84 was a hot one. I was pregnant with baby no. 3, no 2 and I spent a lot of afternoons just lying on the sofa 🥵

It's rained every day for the past week at some point. We even got a shower last night. Garden looking lovely and green.

Forecast Wednesday here, but only a one drop as my son says, which is hardly a downpour!

AuntieE Tue 01-Jul-25 15:03:20

I hope not. Here it has only just stopped raining and behaving as if it was the end of October rather than the beginning of July!

SillyNanny321 Tue 01-Jul-25 15:11:02

If anyone has too much rain please send some to East Anglia asap! My poor garden is several shades of brown.

Mojack26 Tue 01-Jul-25 15:17:01

Swap, Scotland getting lousy weather! Grey, rain and humid....

AmberGran Tue 01-Jul-25 15:18:31

Please send some here to Surrey too. Can't actually remember rain here. Our garden is like a desert and our water butt has been empty for months.

Iam64 Tue 01-Jul-25 15:56:16

It’s grey and raining here in north Manchester
Our reservoirs are low and the gardens need the rain but 🌞

Jaxjacky Tue 01-Jul-25 15:56:17

Same here in Hampshire Ambergran I'm keeping our water butts topped up from the hose in case we get a hosepipe ban.

In 1976 it didn't rain until September.

It wasn't very romantic trying to keep a new baby and a toddler cool but I managed it!

I remember it well. My neighbour was due in August and would be sitting on her front step with the back door wedged open. I had a great ice box and would keep her supplied with cubes.

Forecast tomorrow from early morning with a thunderstorm midday. I look at Gatwick Airport weather. Quite close to me.

Georgesgran Tue 01-Jul-25 16:44:45

There were a few spots of rain as I came out from M&S half an hour ago.
As yet, despite being very overcast and quite cool, it hasn’t morphed into anything more.

No babies for me!

Just drifting about, bare feet and flowers in my hair proclaiming “Love”.

I must have gone to work but I just remember the Summer nights🌙⭐️❤️

Pretty certain I didn’t sweat like I am now😱🥵😳

Same here. Northamptonshire.
I'm fed up with going out with the hose pipe. I've got lots of plants to put in. It shoud be cooler here tomorrow. Maybe, just maybe the odd shower. Fingers crossed.

We have had rain quite a bit too.
Looking out window here after 30 mins to wonder about bringing in the washing.
