Good morning Mick and everyone from a strange and beautiful morning sky here in Cheshire. I have been hanging out of the bedroom window taking photos of a spectacular sunbow. Mick that is such good news about the results of the CT scan. Build up your strength now.

Awake since silly o'clock enjoying the cool air.

I shall go to painting group this morning, and then the day will unfold as it sees fit.

Enjoy your day whatever you may be planning. Special thoughts for those who are unwell, or sad. flowers

RosesandLilac Thu 17-Jul-25 05:46:09

That’s great news Mick re CT scan, you must be very relieved. I hope your GP can help with the ongoing problems.

Good morning from a somewhat damp hillside in south Glos, I’m not convinced that we’ve had much rain although the patio is wet-ish.
Yesterday, as usual, I enjoyed our dog walk, it’s lovely being out early. The fields of sunflowers are looking amazing, and there’s lots of beautiful blue chicory growing in the mixed flowers field.
I don’t have any plans for today, housework first then I’ll see how I feel!
Have a lovely day 🌹

Pantglas2 Thu 17-Jul-25 05:47:03

How marvellous Mick! Hope you’re on the mend and feeling better today x

Well I’m back in the north Wales nest after our delightful trip to Southport - lots of walking in the 🌞 and even Tuesdays rainy morning didn’t deter the intrepid duo from some retail therapy 👜! Some delicious nosh in tiny independent eateries appeal to our tastes and even the noisy seagulls are what we’re used to at home🤣

Belated greetings to Ginny and Ekwanimitee 🥂 and anyone else with cause to celebrate - I’ve barely skimmed the thread over the last few days but do hope those with challenges (like losing your voice Miss MD…🫢) are coping x

Fridge restock this morning and a replenishing of the Jolly Fund at Bingo this evening 🤞- any suggestions of another interesting town?

Kalu Thu 17-Jul-25 05:52:40

Good morning all. We have a lovely sunny start to the day with a high of 23deg which is hot enough. Rain this evening will save me from watering the garden.

I am pleased how quickly the garden work is going and it’s all taking shape now. Hairdressers this afternoon for another social catch up. Apart from that I will be sure to find enough indoors to keep me busy.

Have a pleasant day all

Kalu Thu 17-Jul-25 05:54:50

Wonderful news Mick

grandMattie Thu 17-Jul-25 06:02:13

Good morning from an appreciably cooler Bristol. There appears to have been a teeny bit of rain in the night.
That’s great news, Michael, pleased for you.
I’ve only just woken up and feel a bit befuddled. I was so very tired last night that I was in bed very early.
The FAB cafe went well. We had over 90 people attending and the entertainers were very good, if loud, playing 60s music, mostly Beatles songs. The 90+ punters were so keen that they arrived early.
The church was set out like a cafe with chairs around little tables leaving an aisle for walkers and wheelchairs. Many, many bopped near the alter. I think everyone had a good time, including the grumpy lady who disapproved of the use of the church (and stayed the whole time).
I had 3 people helping me. It all went well, except the coffee urn didn’t work and I was having problems providing enough fast enough. I’m too old to be on my feet for 4 hours, and running around like that!
I was very tired but had promised to attend the ladies’ guild no more than an hour later. Rushed lunch before running back. The promised talk didn’t happen. Instead we had a raconteur who was ok, except that I’m not keen on that sort of thing.
Today, I shall forgo my tai chi class and pace my baking for Saturday. I also need to make more marmalade. Sigh!
Dinner at DD’s, not seen them for 3 weeks.
Have a good day, enjoy the weather, be happy. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from dry cloudy s somerset

Another nice session on my allotment yesterday followed by one skirt-shortening session. Now 12" shorter with a very much nicer hem than the original, used steam iron, clapper and walking foot. It has certainly upgraded the bargain linen skirt and only took 30 minutes. Two more to do later today

Potching today as I am expecting two parcels, if I get a chance I will do a walk but generally I need to float around my house with a duster and a damp cloth

Have a good day

baubles Thu 17-Jul-25 06:24:31

That’s good news Mick.

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where the sun is shining again.

We had a fun afternoon yesterday, the DGCs enjoyed rock pooling, paddling and sand castle building at Coldingham Bay. The haar on the drive was fierce, for a while we couldn’t see the fences at the side of the road but it cleared to become a beautiful sunny afternoon.

It’s summer so that means bright toenails Marydoll! grin

Today will be a spent quietly puttering about.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

cornergran Thu 17-Jul-25 06:27:47

Morning Mick, morning All from a damp corner of Somerset.

Very kind staff made yesterdays process as easy as it could be. Round two in four weeks, I’ll not be so anxious now I understand what happens. Ungrateful I know, I just wish these could happen at our local hospital, the journey exhausted us both.

Good news from the scan mick, hope your doctor can help with the unpleasant symptoms. What a day grandmattie, I hope your efforts are appreciated.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Greyduster Thu 17-Jul-25 06:37:41

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from Northern Ireland where it promises to be a wet day. Happy to hear your good news Mick.
Yesterday was a rest day, pottering about in the village and on the beach. The more energetic of us played tennis (not me). DD and GS went sunset kayaking yesterday out of Ballintoy and it looked magical. I would have loved to have done it but with my hips I’d never get into a kayak now.
Today the boys are going to Portrush for the golf, and DD and I are taking the ferry to Rathlin Island. We would have preferred to go yesterday but the ferries have to be booked days in advance at this time of year. It will be challenging but we’ll have to make the best of the weather.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from another dull, cooler one in la Sarthe.

What reassuring news, Mick! I hope your GP is helpful when you see them.

I don’t think many of us could cope with the day you had yesterday, grandMattie but I'm glad that the special event was well supported. Our theatre has a few tribute acts coming soon including a Beatles one which has already sold out (220 seats!)

Pantglas2: how about Stafford for your next trip? It has some old buildings, including The Vine which has accommodation. Shugborough Hall (NT) is a few miles away if you travel by car. Or you could consider Lichfield with its old streets and beautiful cathedral.

A happy day to you all whatever betides. 🦩💐🇫🇷🥰🦩

RosieandherMaw Thu 17-Jul-25 06:46:40

Good morning from N Bucks where it is still grey and cooler but forecast to be sunny and warmer later.
We had no water in the village yesterday which was a nuisance to put it mildly.
I had noticed the pressure was right down when I filled the kettle at 6 ish which alerted me. A few people on the village FB noticeboard said they had been contacted by Anglian Water and told there was a burst main or leak as yet to be found…and the repair could take until 6 in the evening.
It gave out altogether mid morning but I had filled both the kettle and Nespresso machine. Rosie offered plate cleaning services for anybody who couldn’t do their washing up and I was also well stocked with Evian (and sauvignon blanc if it came to that)
Evening came and went and we were back to low pressure - but hurray! It’s on again now.
Who needs a hosepipe ban when there’s no water anyway?
You can tell I live in interesting times hmm
Stitches coming out today but still no biopsy result. I don’t know if that’s good or bad or just the normal waiting time. Heigh ho.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 17-Jul-25 06:53:51

Good morning from a bright coastal Essex.

The seagulls woke me at 5am, and I have been dozing on and off since then. One teen has just gone off to their work experience, one will not appear till much later.

Will go and have a mooch round the big Waitrose up the road and probably have a walk by tne sea at some time.

That’s reassuring news from the CT scan Mick

Sar53 Thu 17-Jul-25 06:56:05

Good morning from the Essex coast. No sun yet but it's early.
A visit to our Accountant this morning followed by some food shopping. I haven't been eating a great deal since DH left on Saturday but I do need a few basics.
DD1 and family start their 'big' holiday to Thailand today. Three weeks from Bangkok to Chang Mai to Koh Samui ending in Singapore. A great experience for the 3 girls. I hope S copes OK.
I'm pleased to hear your good news Mick.
I hope everyone has a pleasant day, best wishes to all xx

Marydoll Thu 17-Jul-25 06:56:43

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it is10°C.

That is excellent news about your scan results, Mick. Perhaps, it would be worth keeping a food diary, in case something in your diet is causing your problem.

I've had little sleep, my pain levels are high, I may have over done things, but so worth it, because we had a delightful day with Dollie.
Chips, shopping for junk in a £1 shop, a visit to the amusements, a 99 ice cream, the swings, playing on some heart stopping equipment and precarious rock scrambling , meant we were awarded a 10/10 on Dollie's version of Trip Advisor. 😍
Poor Dollie has the same rash as you Roses and it is causing her much discomfort. I hope your rash is improving.

I'm pleased to hear your event went well, GM and that you had an enjoyable trip, Pants.

Today, we have Babydoll, we won't be venturing far, I'm struggling a bit, so a day in the garden is planned.. It will involve water, (no hose pipe ban here) wellies and a puddle suit. She will be in seventh heaven!
I cannot summon up the energy to make her usual Scotch pancakes, so I shall need to be creative, when it comes to her breakfast.
Not venturing far, apart from a visit to the horsey, field and the fire station at the end of the road, which will give us an opportunity to work in the garden. The weeds are growing like nothing on earth, due to the amount of rain we have been having.

Have a pleasant day folks, whatever your plans and as always, thinking of those, who have sorrow or pain. 💐

Grammaretto Thu 17-Jul-25 06:57:33

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Yesterday turned out sunny and I took my cousin to see another beautiful garden. Portmore House near Eddleston. It's only open on Wednesdays in July and August.

It must be exciting watching your garden transformation Kalu!

Today I am having a carpet professionally cleaned.

My cousin is going to visit friends in Glasgow today.

Sending get well wishes to corner , to Mick and thinking of FGT , Marydoll and all who are soldiering on.

Wishing you all a happy day.

Marydoll Thu 17-Jul-25 07:03:59

Dollie found it highly amusing that someone had made a bench, especially for her gran and papa!
The other view is of the old Victorian, sea water pool, looking across to the Isle of Arran

Marydoll Thu 17-Jul-25 07:08:23

Baubles, what shade? Mine are a boring rose pink, unlike yours!
They are not professional looking, as I can only reach them with some contortionism. 🤣

I'm off to look up Coldingham bay!

Redcar Thu 17-Jul-25 07:19:04

Good morning from a grey and calm mid Essex. A warm cloudy day is forecast, possibly with a little drizzle this morning. I’m becoming acclimatised to the warmth now.
I went to our local retail park yesterday and bought a couple of things for my DGD’s birthday, but need to get more. I may give her some money as she’s very fond of shopping! I vacuumed downstairs, washed the hard floors downstairs and actually got the mower out and cut the weeds! When the grass is growing again I’ll give it a weed and feed to get rid of some of the perennial weeds. Meanwhile I have a little patch of pink Macedonian knapweed in the lawn, pretty, but it will self seed everywhere given the chance.

Reassuring news for you mick, you must be relieved.
grandmattie an exhausting day for you, but pleasing that the FAB cafe was well supported and enjoyed!

I’ll change the bedclothes today & get them washed, and will vacuum upstairs as well. I must ring a friend who is having a hip replacement this weekend.

Have the best day possible everyone, best wishes to those who are struggling with difficulties of any kind. rosie and her maw I think biopsy results often take a long time to come through, but it’s an anxious time for you..

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 17-Jul-25 07:32:04

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

WI was fun last night. The retired Palace footman was called Ian and gave a very good presentation.

It was the U3A monthly lunch club. We’ve just had a week being fed constantly so just had fish. OH had smoked trout and I had salmon - we shared Eton Mess.

We collected our pots. Not bad at all for beginners on the wheel. We have decided to carry on with this hobby!

OH will visit his bees today. There may well be lots of honey ready to take off.

I will do a Waitrose trip. The cupboard is bare. I will also call into the picture framers. I have a framed picture to collect; another picture where I need to confirm the frame, and finally the print I bought at the Summer Exhibition needs a frame.

Have a good day especially those of you who are suffering.

brook2704 Thu 17-Jul-25 07:35:26

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve another lovely sunny day ahead
Gorgeous pictures marydoll and gramaretto thanks for sharing
I’m hoping to spend most of the day outside in the garden, then early evening I’ve got my favourite FirSteps dance class at the gym
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from Shropshire where a warm but dull day is forecast.

Good morning all and it’s overcast here in Essex at the moment. Hopefully rain sometime today 🤞.

Yesterday my friend took me for lunch which was very kind. We have a plethora of cafes, restaurants, tea shops in our town but we ended up in a really down market one. 🤷🏻‍♀️.
Noisy, hot, crammed with people , huge platefuls of not very good food. Oh dear! Couldn’t wait to get out of there.
I think she could see I wasn’t impressed but I thanked her kindly , of course!

Today is dgd1’s birthday. She’s ‘home’ for a week and we’ll see her at the weekend.

DS1 and family eventually got back home at 2 am yesterday. They’d had delay after delay, mainly due to the plane crash at Southend Airport . I think it’s reopening today.

Dh had his fishing trip with a friend accompanying him. All went well and he enjoyed his few hours out. He was shattered for the rest of the day but it did him good.
I just hope he doesn’t think he can ‘go alone’ next week. 😳.

Today I have bowls group and then DS and DIL are popping round for a cuppa and chat about their holiday in Malta. They loved it Bellasnanna.

I hope your day isn’t too hectic with babydoll Mary. Plenty of sitting down activities if she’ll let you 😉.

Don’t wear yourself to a frazzle GM. You do too much.

Take care all 🌼
