In *soop’s absence I’ve opened the door, fluffed the cushions and replenished the buffer.
Blossoming you have more patience than me with that bracelet, how delicate.
Tough times SueD I hope today went well for Thursday.
Yesterday’s quiz was a record 54 in attendance, not bad for a village on a Monday, we caught up with quiz mates, but failed to get in the top three. Before that I went to see a physiotherapist and came away with a bunch of knee exercises, I’ve crepitus apparently!
Today was washing, managed to whip it in before some rain unexpectedly came down.
With 🌹to soop and others struggling.

Wonderful news our Soop is home.🎈🎉🎉❤️

Grannydaisy1 Wed 10-Sept-25 21:31:56

What great news to hear soon is home where she belongs

GrannyGravy13 Wed 10-Sept-25 21:38:09

The scaffolding is up, we have had to vacate our bedroom and bathroom for what we call the leaving home bedroom and big bathroom

Why such a strange name, it’s the biggest bedroom which the eldest child always laid claim to, and was quickly claimed by the next in line when the occupier left home…

It’s not my favourite, DH thinks it’s due to the bed being east west as opposed to our bed being north west fen shui 🤷‍♀️

I do hope dear soop sleeps well tonight now she is back home.

Night night 🙋‍♀️

Hi all a very breezy day, sun, cloud and one large thunderstorm.
I spent the morning on tenterhooks, Mr J had a fibroscan on his liver, a yearly blood test showed one specific result out of kilter. But all is fine, nothing wrong with his liver, both mightily relieved, in fact we’ve just been out for a drink.
Funny how we react, being scared I almost freeze and become inactive, cross or upset I’m a whirlwind of activity.
So being a #lazygran today, we’ve a steak pie for dinner and I can carry on planning our trip to Cornwall which is soon.
I hope soop is comfortable at home with some sensitive and kind support for the both of them
GG13 you’re embracing the upheaval with good humour, no point in doing anything else I suppose, I hope you’ve booked at least a couple of days away for a breather.
Yia is your holiday soonish?
I took receipt of the latest Strike book today, a mighty tome, looking forward to reading it, not yet though, I’ll regret rushing it.
Enjoy your evening all.
Blossoming and FGT
👋👋 quiet corner, may you all be finding some small pleasures.

Whoops, that was a long post!

Charleygirl5 Thu 11-Sept-25 18:53:09

Baggs Thank you so much for keeping us updated. For various reasons, I have not checked the kitchen for a week, but a GN friend told me soop was now at home with McSporran, and with luck, the care package will run smoothly.

It is such a relief she is in her own bed again, there is nothing like it.

‘Evening All’

We’ve had the best day in ages. Himself was up singing this morning, made me TIB too. Then we went downstairs to brunch with his two lovely brothers and their equally nice wives. He could only have toast (there’s so much on menus that are not possible with an oesophageal stent sadly). However the laughter we all shared and the good natured banter brought a boost of much needed normality to our day.

Himself slept as usual for two hours this afternoon but on waking he grinned and said “wasn’t that a great meet up?”.

We’ve arranged to do the same in two weeks’ time. It was his suggestion. “Let’s all meet up regularly while we can”.

I love this man so much and greatly admire his mental outlook. He is amazing.

We go to Christie’s on Monday to see whether there might be anything else on offer, treatment wise. Our expectations are low but, especially today, our gratitude for all we have is high.

Great update FGT so good to see such a positive post. Precious days
Thank heavens for our Christie x

brook2704 Thu 11-Sept-25 19:59:39

Fgt thank you for your update, your DH sounds like such a lovely man, so pleased you’ve both had an enjoyable day with your family ❤️

Good to hear all is well with Mr J Jax, you can breathe a sigh of relief now and look forward to planning your holiday

Grandmabatty Thu 11-Sept-25 20:13:32

I'm so glad to hear about your good day FGT. I wish you many more.
I had a nice day. I spent the morning with my ds. We went to an amazing bakery for coffee and cake- all homemade. I had a cinnamon roll with pistachio icing served warm. Then I waved goodbye and headed home to potter before meeting two friends for coffee and cake. There's a bit of a pattern here! Tonight I'm watching tv and chilling. I hope you are all having a good evening

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 11-Sept-25 20:23:23

Ah but did you have cake whilst watching television Grandmabatty? 😁

Glad to hear your husband’s test was reassuring (to both of you) Jax. Good to hear.

And yes Iam we are so very fortunate living right near Christie’s with their world renown expertise. Just a shame for everyone to ‘need’ it. But yes, so grateful it’s only 20 minutes away.
