I was thinking " wooo hoo sexy guy" then realised.. no, she doesn't mean that kind of Rich Italian. Phew.

My newest dog...she's now 12 months old.

She'll stand at the side of the bed, favourite toy in her mouth and gently nudge me with it. If I don't wake up, she places it by me and pushes it gently until it 'hits me' .

Neighbour going to work between 5.00 - 5.30 in their noisy sports car!

My next door neighbour wakes me at 5.00am every morning. She must wake at dawn, then goes for a run, slamming her front door, which is under my bedroom window, thus waking me.

Probably coffee not Gino from Strictly.

ha ha, sometimes, I have two !!

Either the need for the loo or one of the cats walking on me or head butting me for breakfast

Oops Gio not Gino. I'm getting my Italian men mixed up.

Two pigeons cooing on the telegraph poles outside the bungalow or DH going to the loo.

The birds, and occasionally a cat, calling outside my bedroom window.

Either pain or Mr C’s early morning bathroom trip. It gives me an hour at least to sit in bed reading GN then the paper. A calm, relaxed space for me.

fgt a gentle hug when needed. I know those worry mornings, and evenings.

I remember someone on GN saying that pigeons cooing said ‘My toe hurts Betty’ I think of that every time I hear them.

Its definitely my back having got into an awkward position again and the minute I think of that my bladder reminds me of itself so then I'm awake and scrolling the BBC news.

Usually pain from my back if I turn over badly when asleep but yesterday it was a 5am shriek as I had horrible cramp. No chance to go back to sleep but at least I got up early and was able to go to beloved Saltburn

A feeling of utter panic usually as I wonder if my husband has made it through the night after a stroke and three bleeds on the brain.

Ginger Maine Coon cat, 6 kg, between 4 and 5 a.m.
Order of tortures:
Hefty dab from hefty paw
Wet nose and prickle head-top whiskers in face
Scalp lacerated by his claws-enough already!

My bladder or stoma bag

either my bladder or the blasted white pigeons [doves?] who nest in the ivy outside my bedroom window or the planes taking off from bournemouth airport - they start taking off around 7.00 and fly right over my house.

Like most of you, my need to wee is more reliable than anything else!

Pain. Continuous unrelenting pain. Started 54 years ago when pregnancy started to twist my spine out of shape. But hey ho such is life, just got to get on with it.

This morning it was a gentle hug from MrJ, back from three days away.
But it could be the blasted pigeons, light creeping round the blackout blind, need for the toilet or our deaf neighbour calling his dog.

A large tail, thumping against my bedroom door.
This is my 3rd Airedale, but a Rescue this time. And she’s so happy.
How can I not love the sound of that happiness, against the door?

My alarm clock

My inbuilt 4am clock, my little brain clock that’s says, ‘hey up wake up it’s around 4 am’

Me too. Rarely bladder.
It doesn’t half annoy me to be awake so very early!
