Does anyone feel like me? I feel absolutely drained by the summer. I can't sleep, I go shopping and I'm so hot and sweaty. I really have had enough now

GrannyGravy13 Fri 01-Aug-25 17:31:13

Not me, I was a summer baby and love, love, love the sun and heat.

BlueBelle Fri 01-Aug-25 17:37:30

No not me
I m LOVING it long may it last I was born in the winter/ spring but love the warmth and brightness of summer hate winter with a vengeance

Ziplok Fri 01-Aug-25 17:37:33

It’s been quite cool and breezy here today, more a taste of the autumn to come. I do agree though that the very hot days and nights are quite draining and I prefer slightly lower temperatures of early to mid twenties. Above 25 degrees and I start to struggle a bit.

argymargy Fri 01-Aug-25 17:39:52

No, the opposite actually. The great weather gives me huge amounts of energy and enthusiasm for life!

rosie1959 Fri 01-Aug-25 17:50:34

I prefer temperatures under 25 degrees but love the spring and summer our colder months seem much longer and darker

Bukkie Fri 01-Aug-25 17:52:59

I am really excited my favourite season Autumn is just round the corner. The newsreader has just mentioned the new football season and that too fills my heart with joy. I don't mind a few warm days but it feels like we have had summer since March this year.

I felt a bit lethargic for a day or two when it was really hot, hot, hot. But I wouldn't swap it.

It's cool here today, but there's another round of high temperatures on the way I believe mid-August. Looking forward to more meals outside and light summer clothing.

I don't like being hot, today it's been around 21 degrees and that is enough for me. Even then I try to stay in the shade if I go outside.
The last couple nights have been cooler and fresher air which is lovely.
I much prefer the Autumn days.

Biscuitmuncher Fri 01-Aug-25 18:48:16

I just feel like the air is suffocating

Georgesgran Fri 01-Aug-25 18:51:30

Where are you biscuit?

Here in the NE, it’s cool and cloudy with a stiff breeze. We seem to get the better weather last and lose it first!

Hoping for an Indian Summer this year.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 01-Aug-25 18:52:31

The summer can go on forever as far as I am concerned.

Aveline Fri 01-Aug-25 18:54:35

Luckily storm Floris is on its way!!

Casdon Fri 01-Aug-25 18:56:40

Not being nosy, but could it be a health issue Biscuitmuncher, maybe the menopause? It’s really not hot at the moment, and night time temperatures are cool, so you shouldn’t be suffering as you are?

GrannyIvy Fri 01-Aug-25 19:18:31

No I love the warm summer months. TBH this week in Cambridgeshire has been grey and quite chilly at times and I’m looking forward to some better weather for August. Bring on another heatwave please

ginny Fri 01-Aug-25 19:19:13

There have only been a couple of short runs of really hot weather.
Low 20s consistently would be great for the rest of the summer. For me that would be lovely all year. It’s cold weather that gets me down and make aches and pains so much more difficult to deal with.

52bright Fri 01-Aug-25 19:21:05

I like summer. I like warm weather, but even more than that I love the light nights. Its wonderful to have the light at the height of summer up to 10.00 p.m at night. Even when 'only' light until about 7.00 p.m it's great. I really hate it when it get's dark around 4.30. I have so much more energy during the light nights but feel exhausted by 4.00 in the winter.

BlueBelle Fri 01-Aug-25 19:26:32

The cold weather, the winter, and the run up and run down from the winter really make me feel down and it seems to go on for ever and ever
This summer has been great (only a few days where it was very hot) the rest has been totally comfortably
Do you need a GP check up Biscuitmuncher are you lacking any vitamins or overweight or suffering with something else

The last few weeks have just been low 20 s here East coast but it’s beautiful seeing the sun and not having to wear big heavy clothes

Visgir1 Fri 01-Aug-25 19:34:19

Love it, I love the heat, living in tee-shirt's, shorts, flip-flops. Our meals taken in the garden, with our garden in full bloom.
I hate having to put on proper shoes, socks, thicker clothes. Shuting down the garden for winter with dark nights, and it always seems to rain.
I never want summer to end.

windmill1 Fri 01-Aug-25 19:41:11

Roll on Winter I say. Summer ramps up my temper due to being hot, sticky and sweaty in the daytime. I was never this bad when I was roller-coastering through the menopause.

Stuff Summer with knobs on!!!

J52 Fri 01-Aug-25 19:47:24

I like the warm summer days, no jumpers, socks or tights just lightweight summer clothes.
I think I must be strange as I sleep like a log in warm weather.
Bonus sitting outside in the shade enjoying the garden.

Patsy70 Fri 01-Aug-25 20:24:26

Long, warm, sunny days after months of cold wet weather? What’s not to love? I love wearing shorts, t-shirts, gardening, eating alfresco - breakfast, lunch, dinner - which is so very enjoyable after the short, dark days.

Grandma70s Fri 01-Aug-25 20:42:05

I can’t wait for summer to end. My least favourite season. I like Autumn best. It’s visually beautiful, comfortable and has an element of mystery. Summer is just too extrovert! My favourite month is October. It used to be September, but now September just seems like part of summer.

Grandma70s Fri 01-Aug-25 20:44:55

Winter clothes have more interesting textures, plus once you are over a certain age it is more flattering to be covered up!

BlueBelle Fri 01-Aug-25 20:48:33

No no no Grandma70 that defeatist talk however old you are wear what you enjoy
Winter is so miserable autumn is pretty but it just tells me the cold weather is coming it’s dark damp and depressing
