Thoughts please on The Princess of Wales’ latest video and voice over about summer and actions

I can understand how the Princess of Wales has turned to nature. When I was undergoing cancer treatment walking in the countryside helped me. It brings peace in a difficult time.
Well done Kate for sharing those moments.

So I'm going to pick a hole in PoW's voice-over. Connect with nature would sound a lot better, rather than connect to nature which she says half a dozen times. Connect to is joining physically, like the tap to the hose. I think she means more having a closeness with nature, a bond or relationship and interacting with nature.

The sentiments are obviously heartfelt. I hope making the film brought her solace, and I too wish her a full recovery.

Just to pick a hole in your hole picking, the PIW says "connecting to nature" twice (not half a dozen times). I think she had purposely chosen to use "connect to" rather than "connect with" as an emphatic definition.

You're missing the subtle dig that exaggeration or hyperbole is used to criticise anything Meghan says. In fact, people would say Meghan says it 100 times!

I have mixed thoughts about it.
To be Frank I thought it a bit twee.
I and thousands of others have had cancer but I don’t think it changed my life so much that I see things differently.
I sympathise heartily with the Princess, most of us didn’t have to deal with it in the public eye with every detail being analysed.
But I feel when we have recovered we put it behind us and get on with life.
Maybe she isn’t being allowed to do that but I feel perhaps she should.

Some may choose to put it behind therm, perhaps she chooses to share what are to her - positives

I have been on GN for about 14 years, if I didn’t have a hard hat and a thick skin already ,as well as being a very old woman, I would not still be on here😉

Perhaps many young people would still be here to enjoy nature if they had the millions of pounds and top medical treatment without waiting lists, that the royals have.

I have to agree with this. I also think it’s a bit twee. I do however wish her well.

I like to think that she’s helping the millions of people around the world who love her 🥰

So many people of Kate's age release videos about all sorts of different things.
It's obviously something she feels strongly about and totally inoffensive; if you don't go for that sort of thing, don't watch it.

I can see where the OP is coming from re Duchess of Sussex, but frankly I think criticising the output of either of them is a bit sad, if you don't like them / the subject they're videoing, don't watch.

She would undoubtedly have been jumped on but firstly, she wouldn’t do it without being paid and secondly, we wouldn’t have been able to understand her word salad!😂

I am very happy for either of them to make whatever videos they want.

Throwing money or soft pillows at cancer rarely, if at all, makes a difference, Steve Jobs was worth $10 million, he still died, rapidly of cancer.

It will get criticism but I see a young woman here who had the shock of her life with a cancer diagnosis. Forget being Royal, she is a wife and Mum. This video tells me what is uppermost in her thoughts after such a harrowing time.

I see that too.
However, I think that there could have been a short discussion about the film without bringing Meghan into it for comparison.
Unfortunately, it has become normal to compare them with each other, I am guilty of it too.

what helped her with horrors of diagnosis and ongoing treatment of cancer

My first thought was that the video was a bit too twee!! So yes I agree.
Having said that I am very much in favour of the monarchy and I wish The Princess of Wales well.

Yes, that was what was irritating, there was absolutely no need.

People keep comparing both young women for no reason except that they married Royal brothers.
They did this constantly with Diana and Sarah.
